We will be walking over sandy paths through ancient established woodlands, heather and gorse and see evidence of bush fire in 2006 which has left a blackened moonscape. We then continue south up to Devils Punchbowl, a deep depression believed to be the result of erosion caused by spring water beneath the sandstone, causing the upper level to collapse. We continue on our way to Hindhead and Haslemere along the Greensand Way to end up in a pub for a deserved drink.
