Play 3-Sided Soccer at Albert Park - mixed - social - all levels - all fitness
Play 3-Sided Soccer at Albert Park - mixed - social - all levels - all fitness
3 Teams. 3 Goals. Hexagonal Pitch. A game of alliance and betrayal in equal measure. We are looking for new players and returning players alike to come play a match. Players of any ability, fitness level or background are welcomed - the game is intended to be fun for a Sunday morning rather than super competitive. If you've never played before, that's okay - the rules are as simple as this: * There's no offside - roam where you will * Defend your goal at all costs * No hands (this is soccer-style football after all) Come down for 9:00am, we make some balanced teams and warm up for the match starting at 9:15. Three thirds are played of 25 minutes each so we're usually done by about 11:00am. All fitness and soccer skill levels more than welcome and encouraged! A note regarding junior players: We very much enjoy and encourage junior players to come along and play however please be aware of the following: * As most attendees are adults, all players must be a minimum of 1.5m tall and 13 years of age. Soccer may have incidental contact when contesting a ball, and we would hate for someone small to be injured as a result of running into someone larger than them. * Any players under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a playing parent or guardian. How to find us - We meet on the astroturf pitch near the Baselball and Hockey clubs in Albert Park. The main location we use is called "Dorothy Coleman Field". If we aren't there then there may be a couple of other locations, [as noted on this dynamic map](https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1JdDwV4AOV5e-xP5d56m16-eu29GlnZQ&usp=sharing) \- generally we will follow in number order\.
Southern Cross - Organ Pipes - Sunbury, 53 kms, Beginners
Southern Cross - Organ Pipes - Sunbury, 53 kms, Beginners
Everybody's welcome! Non MBTC members need to join club by the fourth ride with us, ask us how! An easy ride, on this balmy weather, aimed to leisure cyclists mostly on bike paths and quiet suburban streets. Leaving Southern Cross station we'll get on the recently opened Dixon Veloway over Foostcray road, then we'll take the Maribyrnong bike trail that deliver us to the Steely Creek trail, then on to the Taylors Creek trail. Following this, we get for a couple of kilometres into the busy Calder Highway to arrive to the Organ Pipes National Park, we may need to lock our bikes, then walk to see the rock formations. Continuing on we'll deviate for a couple of k's to check the site of the Sunbury Festival held here in the mid-70's, there is also a commemorative plaque in honour of Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs. Trains from Sunbury station every 40 minutes or so. In the event of extreme temperature, over 30 deg C, we'll ABANDON the ride and look for a rail station to go back home! Please bring your own food, drinks and plenty of water for the day. Ride end time is a guesstimate only. Check route here (give or take a couple of wrong turns): https://ridewithgps.com/routes/53649754 Early lunch at the 24 k mark, at Keilor Village, many choices. The route is 100% sealed, and the terrain is pretty easy to navigate with no climbs. So bring your, in good condition, bike, we suggest 32+ mm tires. Inclusive Grief Circle: Honouring Loss Through Ceremony, Community & Creativity
Inclusive Grief Circle: Honouring Loss Through Ceremony, Community & Creativity
Read reviews from past participants [here](https://www.greenhousecreativesanctuary.com/inclusivegrief) “Grief has never been private, it has always been communal. Subconsciously, we are awaiting the presence of others, before we can feel safe enough to drop to our knees on the holy ground of sorrow. For the most part, grief is not a problem to be solved, not a condition to be medicated, but a deep encounter with an essential experience of being human. Grief becomes problematic when the conditions needed to help us work with grief are absent.” - Francis Weller Our primary association with grief is the loss of a loved one but there are so many kinds of losses that don't have formal ceremonies that are important to honour. Unprocessed grief can accumulate in weight, dulling our senses and capacity for aliveness. This is a safe, supportive space for all shapes, sizes and textures of grief- for the loss of our loved ones, for the childhood we did not get to have, for the parts of ourselves that have been rejected and exiled, for friendships and relationships with ambiguous endings, for homes and communities we are distanced from and miss, for the suffering of the world and our fellow beings. This inclusive grief circle is also an advocacy for compassionate and attentive grief work, for reshaping our understanding of and relationship with grief. It is a holding space, a container, a time and a deep permission to acknowledge our emotions, our connections, the ways we have been touched and transformed, and our humanity. We will make art in response to the Grief Deck, share and witness each other’s stories and journeys, and co-create a group nature mandala together. **Please bring a jar and 8-10 similar natural objects (8 flowers or 8 sticks or 8 stones).** If you are facing financial hardship, please key in CONCESSION as a promo code for a discounted price of $25. If that is still difficult, please email me at greenhouse.arttherapy@gmail.com. No one will be turned away. **Please also note:** * This is an art-therapy informed community-based creative workshop, and is not intended to replace individual or group therapy, and is also not for emergency crisis support or intervention. * If you are comfortable with me taking photos of you and/or your artwork for learning and supervision purposes, and to offer others a sense of what the workshop is like, please let me know at the start of the session. Your participation would be greatly appreciated!

**Calling all queer crochet enthusiasts;** I am a visual artist located in Columbus that is searching for people who may want to gather while also participating in creating a piece of artwork. My goal is to spend time enjoying one another’s company while making a work of art that will be displayed within our community. I plan to teach people to crochet (if unfamiliar) while also inviting current fiber artists to join us for some much-needed social interaction. There are no expectations from those who attend, materials will be included, and any amount of participation is welcome! If you have a favorite crochet hook or current project you are welcome to bring that along too! The primary goal is to foster a safe space for our community to chat, create and be. For further information please email [landerknits@outlook.com.](http://landerknits@outlook.com.) \*This will be our 2nd meeting, bring friends and make new ones.
