This Life: The Buddha’s guide to inner transformation - New Course in Carlton
The Buddhist spiritual path centres on our own mind’s vast potential for peace, compassion and wisdom. True lasting happiness does not depend on external factors but comes from looking inwards to better know our own mind and heart. This course presents key insights from the Buddha’s life and teachings to show how, through meditation and shifting our focus inwards, we can find true, unending contentment.
This course presents key Buddhist frameworks that guide our path, including:
* The four noble truths (a clear-eyed view of our suffering, its causes, the potential for that suffering to be brought to an end, and how to attain that cessation of suffering).
* The three vehicles of Buddhism, which progressively show how we can nurture our innate peace, compassion and wisdom.
* The four seals, which encapsulate what is unique about the Buddha’s teachings and sets them apart from other religions and philosophies.
Including teachings from foremost Tibetan masters of our time, space for contemplation, reflection and discussion, and guided meditations, this course will give you practical tools to help you work with your mind and take charge of your spiritual path.

How is it that you can Help kids or yourself to become a better student!
Too many kids as well as teenagers and adults have problems with study.
Today's meetup will inform you about the basics in STUDY TECHNOLOGY that provides an understanding of the basics of learning and supplies exact ways to overcome all the pitfalls one can encounter during study. This is applicable to young children, teenagers (or their parents that are trying to help them) and adults alike.
Study Technology shows how one studies in order to comprehend a subject so one can apply it. Laws on which learning is based and workable methods have also been discovered for anyone to apply for themselves or when teaching others.
Too many students graduate from school and college unable to put to use what they’ve learned in school.
It’s not that they’re stupid or that their teachers didn’t know how to teach.
More than likely it traces back to the one thing missing from most educations—learning how to learn in the first place.
We all went to school, yet isn’t it odd that no one taught us how to study?
The information presented at this meetup can help anyone improve others or his own ability to learn.
It is a practical tool that parents and teachers alike can use to enhance a child's study performance. You’ll learn the barriers that lie between your own or a child's education.
And you will very quickly learn how to overcome them.
This technology will enable you or a child to pursue any subject with skill and confidence.
Teachers who have "hard to handle/distributive " or slow learners in class will absolutely love the amazing turn around most often seen in improved behaviour and student performance in class.
If you or your child has difficulties at school (or learning new things at work or online) than this meetup is important to you.
If you can not make it to our meetup than contact the organizer and arrange it to suit your time.
This technology can if one was to live far away be taught online. (extension course)
You may offcourse also opt to have this technology taught to your own child by experienced volunteeer staff or learn about this yourself and transfer this knowledge to those you want to have better grades.
Yes it is possible to improve anyone's study performance. All it takes is just 5 steps.
See you at this meetup.

Board Game Social Hangout - Melbourne Autistic Social x NeuroSparks Collab
Hi all, us at NeuroSparks and our friends over at Melbourne Autistic Social Meetup/NeuroDisco are having our first board game collab event! Whether you're new to boardgames, or an experienced player, this could be a great way to meet like-minded people and have some fun too.
**The venue:** Drop in at Gameology from 12pm onwards, there will be a wide range of board games for you to grab and play, but you can also bring a board game from home if you'd like. Gameology is also a games store, so feel free to browse what they have available or chat to the friendly staff for help or questions at any time.
The board games room where we’ll be hanging out in is on the left as you enter the store and has air conditioning. It also has a limited drink selection, however you’re free to bring food from outside to enjoy in between playing. The cafe across the road called Lux Foundry, or Ima Pantry around the corner are particularly good! But please be mindful of avoiding getting either the venue's or other attendee's games dirty.
Additionally, while use of the space and games are free, a gold coin donation would be appreciated! This goes towards HeartKids, which is the charity Gameology is currently supporting. They also rotate through supporting different charities every month. While a donation is not compulsory, it is greatly appreciated in getting a little more community love and support.
**Location:** There is very limited parking at the front of the store as well as in the surrounding area. However, the venue is close to public transport. The closest train station is Anstey station on the Upfield lane and the number 19 tram on Sydney road. There is also the number 508/509 bus line, with the closest stop being on the corner of Sydney road and Blyth street. The venue will also be closing at 5.
We'd love to see you all there and if the event goes well this could possibly become a regular event!
**PS:** If you have any questions about this event, feel free to message either myself or Ki.
The event is open to all neurodivergent people and anyone who values a friendly, inclusive space. Many attendees come on their own, so if you’re feeling a bit hesitant, know you’ll be in good company and warmly welcomed. If at any point you have concerns or feel uncomfortable about any group member, please notify one of the organisers.
