By request, tonight we'll have again a **special class** with focus on **NECK, SHOULDERS & BACK**. Feeling stiff? Sitting too much during the day? Welcome to learn and practice moves to **relieve tensions, strengthen your muscles, and prevent pain.**
**YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE -** **also for you :)** no matter your age, weight or physical shape. This is an Ā«**open level**Ā» class where beginners and experienced practioners are welcome! Our excellent teacher had 16 years' experience. She provides alternative postures during the class, adapted to your level, and will gently correct you when needed.
Hatha yoga is ideal if you are looking to re-connect with your body and improve your physical health. It's practiced more slowly and with more static hold than other yoga types, allowing time to sink into deeper poses. It's thus ideal for **efficient stretching**, and a good choice for beginners.
Thanks to your yoga practice you will **develop strength, increase flexibility, your physical balance and stability, and can also find inner balance and strengthen yourself mentally.**
Our venue is spacious: you don't have to be too close to each other and it's easy to see the teacher. We ventilate with fresh air (not air condition). Please remember to bring your mat!

Debate Night: Piracy
For centuries, the figure of the pirate has occupied a strange place in our imagination, both villain and folk hero, outlaw and symbol of freedom. From the swashbuckling adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow to the real-world exploits of Blackbeard, piracy has often been romanticized as a life unshackled from authority, where individuals carve their own destiny beyond the reach of states and laws. Beneath the mythology, however, lies a deeper philosophical question: what does it mean to live freely, and at what cost does that freedom come?
Yet piracy is far from a relic of the past. In todayās world, the term stretches far beyond the high seas, reaching into the digital realm, where so-called āinternet piratesā challenge the boundaries of ownership, access, and intellectual property. From peer-to-peer file sharing to the rise and fall of platforms like The Pirate Bay, the debate has evolved into a question of whether information should be free or protected. At the same time, accusations of āpiracyā still surface in geopolitical conflicts, where the line between enforcement and overreach becomes increasingly blurred. Recent actions involving the seizure of vessels, particularly by powerful states like the United States, have reignited debates about legality, sovereignty, and moral authority on the high seas. When does the defense of order begin to resemble the very lawlessness it seeks to prevent? And who, ultimately, gets to define what piracy really is?
This debate will follow a British Parliamentary format with eight debaters split into **four teams of two.**
Participants who wish to speak are highly encouraged to bring a paper and pen. You are welcome to participate even if you have no prior debating experience.
We aim for debates that are respectful, constructive, and welcoming:
* **Respect ideas and people** Listen actively, stay quiet while others speak, and debate arguments, not identities or beliefs.
* **Be concise and civil** Keep questions short and relevant; avoid hostility, hate speech, or discrimination.
* **Respect boundaries and time** No unwanted advances or suggestive behavior; arrive on time to avoid disrupting the debate.
* **Follow moderators** They guide the discussion and ensure fairness.

Family Constellations Circle in Brussels - May
This is an open Circle for anyone and open to constellate on any subject. It's a good way to get started if you've been wanting to see what Constellations is all about. We will start with some bodywork exercises and then there will be time for three Constellations on any topic.
āA Constellation is a means for accessing the timeless map you hold within, linking the past to the present and the present to the future. It's a tool to find the origin of the problems we face today such as repeated patterns, blockages, relationship difficulties or health concerns, to name a few, and has the power to reveal hidden dynamics not visible to the normal eye. Then a healing exchange takes place and steps are taken to free you from the past and put you on a road to freedom, understanding and authenticity for your future.
āThere are two ways to participate, either as a participant or Space Holder in the Circle or to bring a topic to constellate as an Issue Holder, which is limited to three places. Although one person will bring a subject to constellate, everyone participates. A Constellation is a Healing Circle for all who attend.

Deep Conversation - Question Chosen in Session
Welcome to our weekly event in the upstairs room of The Sister CafƩ, rue Chair et Pain 3, one block from the Grand Place. Please get there early enough to order your drink at the bar first. Thank you!
After introductions we will collect questions from the group participants, choose one by voting then discuss it for an hour. Then most of us stay for drinks and bizarre conversations.
Past questions have been wide and not confined to academic philosophy:
What is a genuine friend?
Is social media turning us into emotional zombies?
Do we lose some of the experience of things by defining them?
Are we driven by sex?
Is loneliness a personal failure?
Is morality relative?
**Crucially, be kind and respectful and generous** in your disagreements; remember how much you personally enjoy someone else proving you wrong before celebrating your cutting counterexamples.
Limitations and the meaning of life - The Brussels Philosophy Meetup
We are living in an age of ever increasing intelligence and power. Individual humans havenāt really become any smarter or more powerful, but together weāve developed systems that increase the control we exert over our environment. If we look at a country like China for example, the last 50 years have seen an undeniable and unprecedented increase in living standards, which correlates with [an increase in happiness and life satisfaction](https://ourworldindata.org/happiness-and-life-satisfaction).
Another way to look at this is that weāre constantly finding ways to overcome the limitations imposed on us by life/existence/the universe. Hungry? Just go to the supermarket! Had a bad fall? Here is surgery and some painkillers! Cold? Open your tap and warm water flows out like magic!
What if we follow this process to its conclusion? What does a world without struggle, problems or limitations look like? What would the absence of limitations do to our behavior, our values and our ethics? Would we still be human or does something get lost along the way? Is our current intelligence explosion missing a balancing wisdom explosion?
Weāll be approaching these topics by thinking creatively about the following concrete questions among others:
\- If we had a vaccine against lung cancer\, why shouldnāt we smoke?
\- If we could suck all of the CO2 out of the air\, why shouldnāt we continue using fossil fuels?
\- If antidepressants had no side effects\, why shouldnāt we all take them to deal with grief?
\- If we could breed animals \(human or nonhuman\) without pain receptors\, why shouldnāt we eat them?
\- If all human activity could be automated\, why shouldnāt we become āWALL\-E peopleā?

Forest Play: Movement and Reconnection in Nature
FOREST PLAY (10h-12h)
The Forest Play - sessions are inclusive, nurturing and natural reconnecting events, focussing on restoring or replenishing energy, the sense of joy and personal perspective by interacting (and playing) with nature's healing elements.
Combining tension-releasing stretches, easy flow-restoring exercises (using trees, branches, logs, stones, hills...), doing silent or touch meditations and playful authentic relating games, we're able to get in touch with our inner-child and start to feel free, open-hearted, unassuming and adventurous again, bringing back the joy and vitality we all carry deeply within, but often believed to have been lost. Our hearts gradually open and start reconnecting again.
The 2h-sessions focus on gradually increasing physical resilience, but include emotional and energetic aspects as well to restore general holistic balance in body, mind and spirit. There is no competitive stake to it, there are no extremes or high-intensity actions involved. But we do play gently with our personal comfort zones, sliding in and out, at times challenging our personal beliefs, convictions and limitations. These edges are where the real learning takes place, so take note.
The sessions have powerful therapeutic value. They are developed, customised and guided by specialised trauma therapist Ken Christiaens. All exercises, while feeling light and fun, have a foundation in trauma and tension-releasing therapies, with elements of inner child work, constellations, reiki, NLP, somatic work, role/game play and meditation. Nature's increased healing potential (forest bathing) is fully being harnessed here.

Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation donāt just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance.
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues.
So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them?
That is what this meeting will be all about.
