The question slowly shifts: not only what is the image, but why there must be an image. With Blanchot we try to think not only literature, but art as well: image, resemblance, and the peculiar presence that appears when meaning lingers. Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something.
