Danzhai County is a major cradle of the Miao ethnic group's batik craft. Bees wax melting, patterns drawing, indigo dyeing, and fabrics boiling are the main procedures of making batik by **local people.** **After lunch,** you'll drive to Shiqiao to experience **ancient papermaking**.Miao people there have kept and preserved their ancient techniques and now the village is considered as the “living fossil” of ancient papermaking. **In the evening,** you'll pay a visit and have dinner at **Qingman Miao Village local family.** **🚌 Day 5: Kaili - Fanjing Mountain** **After breakfast,** you'll drive to visit another Miao Village - **Langde** (1hrs drive) with totally different style from others where you could experience **the most authentic ethnic cultures.** On arriving at the entrance you could behold some beautifully dressed girls blocking your path. The topic for February is "Transitions" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Hall Museum of Geology at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a program he has wanted to share with us for a long time: Plate Tectonics. His description of his program: Continents on the move - Nothing in Earth history makes sense without moving continents - it tells us why mountains, volcanoes, minerals, and fossils are where they are. This talk examines the evidence for continental drift, why it was disbelieved, and explains how the more-encompassing theory of plate tectonics was developed and eventually proven.
