Este **sábado hacemos el primer recorrido**. En este tour viajaremos a la **Barcelona del siglo XIX**, una ciudad en plena transformación. Mientras la industria levanta fábricas y los avances tecnológicos aceleran el ritmo urbano, exploraremos no solo a los arquitectos modernistas y sus casas, sino también la experiencia de las **clases obreras** que vivían y trabajaban en medio de estos cambios. En una segunda parte del recorrido redescubriremos a **Antoni Gaudí**. Lejos del cliché del “genio loco”, lo veremos como un hombre profundamente conectado con su tiempo y con las revoluciones que atravesaba la ciudad. La **Sagrada Familia** se revelará entonces como el espejo de una sociedad convulsa y en plena crisis religiosa, mostrando cómo Gaudí respondió a esos desafíos con una creatividad radical.

Vamos a visitar el estudio de Sarah Bevin, artista visual inglesa que vive y trabaja en el barrio barcelonés del Poble Sec. La mayor parte de su trabajo está realizado sobre papel, de diversos tamaños, utilizando una combinación de técnicas y materiales, como el *collage,* la acuarela, el gouache, el pastel suave, el carboncillo o la tinta, que dotan a sus obras de múltiples texturas y contrastes. El uso del *collage* proporciona tridimensionalidad a sus piezas y le permite a la artista experimentar con patrones y formas. A menudo, sus obras se basan en la interacción de las personas con el mundo natural: una relación simbiótica hermosa, pero frágil, cuya presencia se ha vuelto cada vez más importante en su trabajo. Sarah Bevin ha realizado estudios de Arte e Historia del Arte de la Universidad de Aberystwyth, en Gales, así como un master en Diseño para el Medio Ambiente en la Escuela de Arte de Chelsea - Universidad de Londres. **¡NUEVA RUTA PARA DESCUBRIR BARCELONA Y SUS BARRIOS MENOS CONOCIDOS!** En Descubridores seguimos proponiendo nuevos paseos guiados para visitar todos los rincones de la ciudad, y éste es uno de ellos. El escritor y activista social Paco Candel hablaba en los años 70 de aquellos barrios periféricos de Barcelona en los que **"la ciudad perdía su nombre**" y sin duda, Torre Baró, su castillo, y les Roquetes formarían parte de este conjunto. En nuestra ruta, pasearemos y visitaremos el **Castillo de Torre Baró** y sus miradores. Disfrutaremos de una de las mejores vistas de la ciudad, así como de todo el valle del Besós y parte del Vallés. Sin duda, se trata de **una de las panorámicas más espectaculares** y privilegiadas del Área Metropolitana que muy poca gente conoce y donde el turismo todavía no ha llegado. También hablaremos de la historia del propio castillo y de los barrios de los alrededores. Un conjunto muy singular que tenía que ser un hotel a principios del s.XX pero que quedó para siempre en el olvido. Posteriormente, bajaremos suavemente por Collserola hasta **Les Roquetes**, un barrio que los vecinos construyeron en los años 60 codo a codo. Pasearemos por sus **calles laberínticas** y terminaremos cerca de la Vía Júlia, donde podremos tomar algo en alguna de las muchas terrazas. The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
