Language Exchange over a drink. We choose different venue every week.
This time a cafe with the view of the sea in Corniche. Let's enjoy a bit of outdoor setting and coffee before it gets too warm. We will also share the sunset together. This is a free event and we welcome local and expats to come for a chat and some good company.
Languages👂🏻💋: English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese (and more depending on the attendees' languages)

We have certified Chinese and English teachers here who also speak Spanish and Japanese. We are looking for Arabic-speakers or anyone who wishes to practice these languages or just to connect.
Participants will be put in different tables based on number of people and langauge-pairs and swap places from time to time. Participants are responsible for paying for their orders. As customary to support local business, one order is a good practice.

FSTM 152nd Meeting - Joint Meeting with Madinatna Toastmasters Club
Join us this Saturday, the 25th of April 2026 from 6.15 P.M. to 9 P.M. as Flaming Spirits Toastmasters Club embarks on a joint meeting with Madinatna Toastmasters Club, a fellow club in the District. Along with a trio of prepared speeches, this meeting will also include an insightful educational module on the power of mentoring. This meeting will also consist of an impromptu speaking session which will enable guests to deliver a short 1-2 minute speech along with an an insightful evaluation and feedback session. Guests are wholeheartedly welcome to join us and be a part of proceedings. However, prior confirmation is appreciated at least by Thursday, the 23rd of April 2026 for ease of planning and logistics.

Through dialogue and film, spend an evening explore the lives of Black generational farmers, the unjust history of land ownership, and local Black farmers creating new legacies today.
Seeds Documentary and Community Conversation is the second event in Shepherd’s Corner Land Justice Series, where we welcome BIPOC artists, filmmakers, writers, and growers to teach us, through intentional programming, what it means to be on and part of the land.

This year (2026) the Celebration is scheduled for April 25th with activities running from 10am-2pm.
This is a non-ticketed event. Everyone is welcome! We will have food trucks, Birds of Prey, kids crafts, live music, raspberry plants, apple trees, and of course NATIVE PLANTS!
