Poursuivant ce voyage au cœur des ténèbres, Goya emporte dans son oeuvre toute la part sombre de l’humanité, et le clair-obscur, tel qu’il le parachève, nimbe toujours de sa profondeur et de son mystère la création contemporaine, en particulier, celle de **Sigmar Polke**, dans sa chapelle hallucinée *Axial Age* (2005-2007). **Philippe Parreno**, qui revisite les peintures noires de la *Quinta del Sordo* à la flamme de la bougie, rappelle combien ce cycle alchimiste a ouvert les vannes de la sensibilité moderne.
