Willa Cather: A Lost Lady
Willa Cather: A Lost Lady
Dear fellow book lovers, for this meeting we will discuss *A Lost Lady* by Willa Cather. We are going to have the meeting at Tipperary Berlin (Triftstraße 58, 13353 Berlin). As maintaining a site on meetup.com is not free, we would appreciate a donation of 1–2€ from all attendees. (We have a tip jar for that purpose.) All attendees are expected on time, please do NOT show up late (15 minutes or more), as this can be very disruptive to our discussion. Also, if you are feeling sick/under the weather, please refrain from coming for everyone's safety. Hope to see you then!
AWS User Group Berlin Session - April 2026
AWS User Group Berlin Session - April 2026
Dear Community, Another month with two great talks in the agenda. This time we are meeting at our home **NLND Berlin**, with one talk covering AWS AgentCore while the second one about Redshift Data sharing. =================================================== 18:30 - Warming up and networking chat 18:45 - Intro by AWS UG Berlin & NLND 19:00 - 19:40 - **Gamei Chin & Milad Rezaeighale // The Diabetes Sweet Spot: Using AWS AgentCore to Empower Data-driven Lifestyle Decisions** This session is about building production-ready agentic workflows with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore—from running agents securely at scale on a managed Runtime, to exposing and orchestrating tools via AgentCore Gateway (including MCP-based tooling), adding different types of memory for context and personalization, and enforcing security and governance with Identity and Policy for controlled tool access. It ends with a live demo of a practical use case: an agentic app for glucose monitoring, showing the end-to-end workflow and monitoring in action. 19:40 - 20:00 - Networking break with food, snacks and drinks 20:00 - 20:40 - **Jirka Hubacek // Breaking Down Monolithic Redshift Using Data Shares** As data platforms scale, managing competing workloads in Amazon Redshift becomes increasingly challenging. Traditional WLM (Workload Management) often isn’t enough to effectively prioritize traffic — you end up facing a classic “chicken and egg” problem: should ETL pipelines or client-facing queries get priority? With the introduction of Redshift Data Sharing, there’s now a more flexible approach — you can create multiple Redshift instances that consume data from a shared source, isolating workloads without duplicating storage. 20:40 - 20:45 - Closing & Final Remarks =================================================== **Very Important: There is no "waitlist" for our regular sessions.** However, there are limited seats available. If you want to make sure you can attend: Register yourself with your "full name" here at meetup.com Arrive on time - seats are first come, first serve. As soon as there are seats available, you are welcome to join with your registration. In case there are no more seats available, we won't be able to let you join us this time.We thank you very much for your understanding! ================================== Additional Information **This event is wheelchair friendly.** Help us spread the word, and invite your friends & colleagues! If you're attending with wheelchair and need assistance, please mail us: organisers@berlinawsug.de for further details. Would you like to host AWS UG Berlin events at your company? The Most Native Kubernetes App
The Most Native Kubernetes App
April stattfinden. \*\*\*\*\* Hello Gophers! Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 14 April. We are delighted to welcome [Lukas Nagel](https://github.com/lukasngl/) from [MeKo Manufacturing](http://www.meko.de/) with the topic "The Most Native Kubernetes App". The talk will be German. What if we only had the Kubernetes cluster at our disposal? We'll develop a ToDo app using only Kubernetes' bulit-in tools, demonstrate why this isn't a good idea, and show how these patterns can be used to implement useful operators. We will meet at 6 pm at [enercity](https://www.enercity.de/). The talk starts at 6:30pm. Afterwards, we want to chat about technologies and experiences, learn from each other, socialise and simply have a great time together. [enercity](https://www.enercity.de/) is sponsoring the catering - thank you very much! There will be plenty of drinks and we plan to order pizza. **Please note for on-site participation:** * **Registration** for the MeetUp event must be completed by **6 pm** on **Monday, 13th April 2026**. * A **full name** is required for entry into the building to register with security.

Finding someone who shares your ambition, complements your skills, and is ready to build something meaningful is harder than it sounds.** This event brings together founders with startup ideas and talented people looking to join a startup in a structured, data-driven matching format. Organized by SIBB –Digital Association Berlin-Brandenburg, this evening combines curated co-founder matching sessions with open networking. The matching process is supported by TribeSquare, which helps identify the most relevant connections before the event. During the event you will also learn about the SIBB Incubator, a startup programme supporting early-stage founders building solutions in Cybersecurity and Trustworthy AI. **⚠️ Important: Entry is only possible until 19:00, as the structured matching sessions begin shortly afterwards.** #### **💡 What you gain from the event** • Meet potential co-founders who match your skills, interests and ambitions • Discover promising startup ideas looking for the right team members • Connect with ambitious builders from the Berlin startup ecosystem • Participate in curated one-on-one conversations instead of random networking • Learn about equity-free startup funding opportunities through the SIBB Incubator #### **How the Matching Works** 1️⃣ Register on Eventbrite and select the ticket category that best fits your role. 2️⃣ After registration, you will receive a short matching questionnaire (powered by TribeSquare) via email in your ticket confimation. Your response is important to identify the most relevant connections for you. 3️⃣ Based on your answers, you will receive personalized matches at the event. 4️⃣ During the event, you will meet your matches in short one-on-one sessions, followed by open networking with all participants. #### 🚀 Apply for the SIBB Incubator If you are currently forming a startup team or already working on an idea, this event can also be your entry point to the SIBB Incubator. Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Hello! I’m organising a coworking + socialising session for all of us who are working on projects (e.g. our own creations, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂 To ensure that we have time for both socialising AND working, we will be using the so-called “Pomodoro” technique: **50 mins deep work** (silent), followed by **10 mins break** to socialise. And then repeat! You are welcome to join whatever your personal background is, and whatever project you are working on. I (the host) speak English and German, so either language is fine. ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **Short Intro** Tell us who you are and share something about what you will be working on today * **Pomodoro Session** \- 3x \(3h\) Each Pomodoro session consists of 50 mins focused “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, **phones on silent mode**) -> then 10 mins break: a chance to share your progress with others -> Repeat * **15 mins Wrap Up** Celebrate what you achieved and get to know others 😊 ———— The location is **Espresso House near Checkpoint Charlie** (they have multiple outlets - so be sure to go to the correct one!) Wifi + power plugs are available - but best to bring a fully charged laptop, just in case 🙃 You **do not** have to pay anything. But since we are using the café space, it is common courtesy to buy at least one drink (coffee costs roughly **4 Euros**).

AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s? This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation?
