Sinister Circus (Omventure - Mississauga Location)
Sinister Circus (Omventure - Mississauga Location)
EVENT DETAILS: Event #47 - Amazing! \*\*Please note: This is the Omventure MISSISSAUGA location - not the Markham or Scarborough locations, where we have also done rooms in the past. \*\*\*BIG NOTE: The rooms this month are DIFFERENT LENGTHS AND PRICES, so please make note of the START TIME and PRICE for the SPECIFIC ROOM you want to do. RSVP PROCEDURE: \*\*\*To secure your RSVP to this event, you must complete TWO steps. Both steps must be completed to attend. Simply RSVP'ing to this event via the Meetup "RSVP" button will NOT secure your ticket. This group is incredible and we have a ton of fun. I appreciate your help in making sure it can run smoothly. 🙂 Here are the steps, in order: STEP 1. Please send $44.50 per admission as an E-TRANSFER, to [TorontoEscapeRoomMeetup@gmail.com](mailto:TorontoEscapeRoomMeetup@gmail.com) In this email, please note: -> The name of the room you want to join. -> If you are paying for more than 1 admission, please send the appropriate amount for the number of tickets you want (e.g. 2 tickets = $89), to which event(s), and note the name of your guest. \*\*\*Out of fairness to members who are committed to attending, if I do not receive your etransfer within 24 hours of you joining the event, your RSVP will be removed to open up space for someone else. You are free to re-join when you are ready to send the etransfer, space permitting. STEP 2. Once you have completed STEP 1, click RSVP on the event for the room you want. If you are bringing a guest, select a +1. Managing large events can be complex so thank you for helping me keep track of all you incredible, amazing escapers! 💕 \*\*\*\*\* We have four rooms for you to choose from this month! Feel free to join this room, or check out the other rooms here: Virus Outbreak – 60 minutes – Arrival time 7:45: https://www.meetup.com/toronto-escape-rooms/events/313739447/ Penitentiary – 60 minutes – Arrival time 7:45: https://www.meetup.com/toronto-escape-rooms/events/313739438/ Chaos Kitchen – 60 minutes – Arrival time 7:45: https://www.meetup.com/toronto-escape-rooms/events/313739460/ Here's the room description for this specific event page, from the website: Re. Sinister Circus – 75 minutes – Arrival time 7:30: "You open your mailbox to find tickets for the circus that just arrived in town… funny, you don’t remember ordering any. Arriving at the circus, you are greeted by a familiar presence – that mocking voice, that maniacal laughter, it could only be the Joker! He’s back for Round 2 with his brand-new Sinister Circus! Entertain the Joker by solving his riddles, don’t let his mind grow idle or he’ll take his anger out on you! Can you survive a descent into the Joker’s world of madness and murder?” This room is 75 minutes in length. Per tradition, we'll do optional coffee/drinks/dinner/dessert afterward if people want to hang out. Important details about the escape rooms only: 1. We will book the spots for the escape room, so no planning needed! 2. This is a prepaid event, so you must pay the fee to join in. 3. Please arrive at the listed time. This is scheduled 15 mins ahead of the room time so that everyone can arrive, check in and sign waivers if applicable. 4. No shows or last minute cancellations after the booking has been paid for will not receive refunds due to the non-refundable nature of the escape room businesses. 5. If there is a cancellation/rescheduling of the of the event, you will receive refunds. 6. If you ever want to join an event but all of our rooms appear to be full/sold out, please message me. I can sometimes find a way to add a person or two; and if I hear from a lot of people, I may even be able to book a whole extra room for the bonus folks so they can join in the fun! 7. Please share the puzzles! We can be big groups thanks to your patronage, and sometimes escape rooms don't have multiple puzzles to work on at one time, so only a few people may be able to work on a given puzzle. Share the love! If you've been the leader on a few puzzles in a row, kindly step back and let someone else have a turn. 8. Check out their website for additional details: (https://www.omventure.ca/mississauga)

The program includes an introduction by archivist June Chow. https://www.morrislum.ca/projects Over the past decade, **Morris Lum has embarked on an extensive exploration of the Chinatown communities across Canada and the United States. Focusing on the architecture and evolution of these enclaves,** Lum delves into how “Chinese” identity is shaped and expressed through their structures. Using a large-format camera, he has captured Chinatowns in cities such as Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, and Boston, chronicling the rapid transformations these communities face and documenting their shifting architectural and economic landscapes. Hot Docs: Exhibition on Screen--Turner & Constable ($10-$15)
This is a brand new **2026 release** from the folks behind 'Exhibition on Screen' **Ticket link is below.** $10-$15 per ticket It coincides with this ART exhibition at **TATE** London. On NOW. https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-britain/turner-and-constable Can't make it to London/UK--let 'Exhibition on Screen' bring it to you! (These DOCS are so very well done--perhaps this is our 5th 'ART' tour) ***Two of Britain’s greatest painters, J.M.W. Turner and John Constable were also the greatest of rivals.*** Born within a year of each other, both used landscape painting to reflect the changing world around them. \*\*Tate Britain is bringing these two greats together for a groundbreaking exhibition in London from November 2025 to April 2026. ***Exhibition on Screen*** once again has exclusive and privileged access to bring their extraordinary art and remarkable stories to the big screen. Discover unexpected sides to both artists with intimate views of sketchbooks and personal items and insights from leading experts. **Turner’s blazing sunsets** and sublime scenes from his travels and **Constable’s idealised depictions of beloved places** from home whipped the public of the time into a frenzy of enthusiasm. Constable represents the very best of the old school of realism and pastoral nostalgia; Turner, an exciting new way of depicting emotion and dreamlike impressions. Critics compared their starkly different styles to a clash of "fire and water." Don't miss this opportunity to see these greats side-by-side, as they so often were in life, on the big screen for the first time. Arthouse Friday: THE DRAMA at the Drexel Theatre!
Arthouse Friday: THE DRAMA at the Drexel Theatre!
Join us as we get together for an Arthouse Movie Friday event to see the A24 dark comedy /romance / psychological-thriller, THE DRAMA! The film stars Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as a happily engaged couple whose relationship is challenged when one discovers unsettling truths about the other. Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: The film follows a happily engaged couple whose relationship is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails. The film comes from A24, is written/directed by Kristoffer Borgli stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates and Zoë Winters. QUICK WORD OF WARNING: The film hasn’t screened for critics yet and most of the details are being kept tightly under wraps. But, early buzz (possibly promotional) says the film is a brilliant psychological thriller/romance but also provocative, twisty and some contains occasional uncomfortable viewing! I love the cast and trailer, so look forward to seeing for ourselves! ZENDAYA-PATTINSON TRIFECTA CHALLENGE: Robert Pattinson and Zendaya will star in THREE movies together this year, including THE DRAMA, Christopher Nolan’s THE ODYSSEY this Summer and Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE: PART THREE at Christmas! TRAILER: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmKcUa4Xxk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zmKcUa4Xxk) PLAN: We’ll plan for 7pm-ish showing and will meet in the lobby area about 30 minutes before showtime! Advance ticket purchase not required for this theater but early arrival is advised. Possibly post-movie get-together at the nearby Rusty Bucket! Complete details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer. Take care and look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Discount Tuesday: THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway Film Center!
Discount Tuesday: THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway Film Center!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Choose Your Movie event to see your choice of two great films! Option 1 is the dark comedy/drama based on a true story TOW! The film stars Rose Byrne as a homeless Seattle woman how battles a towing company. Option 2 is the off-the-rails, over-the-top, action-comedy-horror THEY WILL KILL YOU! The film stars Zazie Beetz as a woman who answers a help wanted ad to be a housekeeper in a mysterious New York City high-rise not knowing its mysterious past! Here are details, trailers and our plan for this event: TOW: This dark comedy/drama is based on a true story and follows a homeless Seattle woman who fights her way out of "tow-company hell" to reclaim the car that had held her life together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634. The film stars Rose Byrne, Ariana DeBose, Demi Lovato, Octavia Spencer, Dominic Sessa, Elsie Fisher and Simon Rex! The film premiered to solid reviews at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival where critics declared, “TOW is a winner!” It’s “a story of perseverance, heart, and real fight, the kind of small human story we see less frequently these days, but need now more than ever.” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdkpcsuPAhA THEY WILL KILL YOU: A woman takes a job as a housekeeper in a NYC high-rise, unaware of the building's history of disappearances. She soon realizes the community is shrouded in mystery. The film is directed by Kirill Sokolov and Zadie Beetz, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette. The film is being released immediately following its premiere at this year’s SXSW Festival earlier this month. Early reviews say it’s “an adrenaline rush of action-packed fights, tons of blood and gore and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments” and a movie that’s “unafraid to march to its own campy, violent, and clever little drummer!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYqQPiXpi4w PLAN: Not exactly a “Choose Your Movie” event, more like an early show and a late one (or both if you’re feeling sparky)! \* If you’d like to see TOW, please purchase your ticket for the 5:00pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 4:40 and 4:50pm! \* If you plan to see THEY WILL KILL YOU, please purchase your ticket for the 7:45pm showing and meet in the upstairs lobby between 7:25 and 7:35pm! \* Tickets for both films on sale now and advance purchase is advised! Tickets just $5.00 ($6.50 after online fees when purchased via the GFC website). Once you have yours, please list your movie of choice and seat number in the Comments section of this event. \* Also, as a reminder, close, convenient parking available in the nearby garage (Between 9th and 11th, just off High) and just $2 when you have your ticket validated at the theater! Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
