Magical x-dance | A Welcoming 2026 5Rhythms Dance Ritual
*Bring your curiosity, open heart and presence to this special dance journey that brings creativity to our life force energy*
### **✦ WHAT IS Magical x-dance ✦**
This is a special 5Rhythms Dance. It is an intentional space for each and every one of us to open up to the possibilities and magic that the "new year" might have to offer us through the dance.
***No previous 5Rhythms or other experience is required.***
As the year draws to a close, we will honor all that has come to pass and welcome the unknown of new beginnings – the magical space of intentional co-creation in the empty space.
What sensations would you like to call in?
What stories would you like to weave?
What mystery are you seeking to let in?
These are the open ended, curious questions we will take into the 5Rhythms map, exploring life’s 5 essential energies.
To support this theme, we’ll include a little something special / different as part of our dance together.
**You are invited** (of course, not required) **to bring an object with you to place on an installation to evoke magic and/or abundance into 2026!**
ζ 3 ingredients shape each journey ζ

THE GLITCH - ALTERNATIVE COMEDY
If you love leaving a show thinking “Was that art? Was that comedy? Should I call my therapist?” - then congratulations, you’ve found your new favorite night in town.
At THE GLITCH, chaos is the headliner. Expect the unexpected: a cocktail of unhinged stand-up, sketch, improv, clown, drag, characters, music, impressions and other things we can’t legally describe. Every week is a brand-new fever dream with a rotating lineup, so even we don't know what’s gonna happen.
What we can promise: it will be weird, it will be funny, and it will be unlike any other show in town. What we can’t promise: that you’ll leave the same person who walked in.
🤸🏻♂️Hosted by Maya Upchurch, Kat Nip, Luī Beča (on rotation)
🗓️Every Sunday
📍Agata Bar - Weichselstraße 55, 12045 Berlin

Filmmakers & Movie Nerds Meetup #161 @The Castle Pub
This week we meet at **[The Castle](https://www.google.com/maps/place/the+castle+pub+berlin/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x47a852216a8c13b9:0xa407d02e7d669453?sa=X&ved=1t:242&ictx=111)** (Nordbahnhof).
Curious what we do? Check our [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/filmmakersandmovienerds/) ♥️
Would you like to meet some like-minded filmmakers? Start a project? Or do you need help with a movie you are currently working on? Are you new in the city and you'd like to meet people tinkering with movies?
**Then you should join us!**
We meet every Sunday. It’s important to us that we get to know each other in person. To create a community of connected people, work, learn and grow together. For film making you need a crew of reliable people with a positive can-do-attitude. This is the place to find them.
Together, we will talk about these topics:
* What you are currently working on
* What you need help with
* What would you like to help with
* What you you would like to learn
This is event is great for:
* filmmakers
* movie nerds
* writers
* camera operators
* editors
* actors
* sound recorders
* composers
* gaffers
* producers
We are limiting the amount of people, so we can have a structured introduction and discussion. After that we get together loosely with some drinks and chats. And then we mostly go for dinner with a couple of us.
**Important information**:
*To sustain and grow this amazing community, we started a member contribution that is due every month. The money we collect is used solely for the purpose of the community. Of course you can come once or twice without contributing to check us out!*
Carmen Chraim: CARM ALARM - Stand Up Solo Show
You have seen her shouting at protests, screaming “I love you!” at Saint Levant and Sean Paul concerts. Now it’s time to watch her on stage. Unapologetic, unfiltered, and loud enough to get a noise complaint.
From Lebanon, Carmen has been described as Berlin’s underground secret with no password. Being a comedian for 10 years, means she’s either dedicated, stubborn, or just completely delulu, most likely all three.
After years of shows now saved carefully in her “out of storage” cloud, Carmen has finally worked really hard (well, kind of hard) on this new hour to make it as personal, fun and authentic as possible. She’s strangely attached to it, despite her allergy to hugs, and she wants loads of people to see it. Expect an hour of sharp punchlines about politics, dating disasters, Berlin weirdness, work nonsense, and what it’s like to be a petite Arab woman surviving (and thriving) in today’s world.
Do yourself a favour and take a deep dive into Carmen’s brain, it’ll help you realise how well your life is going.

Born and raised in Lebanon, Carmen brings high energy, quick stories, and a love for sarcasm to every stage. With over 10 years of comedy experience, she’s performed all over Europe, produced hit shows in Berlin, and opened for comedians like Todd Barry, Judah Friedlander, and Andy Haynes. Now part of the Queen Bees Comedy collective, Carmen’s bold humor and unique voice will keep you laughing all night. Want to know where she’s performing next? Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for December is "Reunion"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!

2026 Kick-Off: SONG SUNG BLUE or ANACONDA at Lennox Phoenix Theater!
Join us as we kick the New Year with a fun Happy Hour and your choice of two fun, new films! Option 1 is the biographical-musical-docu-drama, SONG SUNG BLUE, which stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson in the story about a real-life couple and Neil Diamond Tribute Duo. Option 2 is the comedy-action-adventure ACACONDA, which stars Jack Black and Paul Rudd as part of a group of friends remaking a favorite movie from their youth. Here’s a complete description, trailer and our plan for this event:
SONG SUNG BLUE: The film follows Lightning and Thunder, a Milwaukee husband and wife Neil Diamond tribute act, who experience success and heartbreak in their musical journey together. Not a tribute to Neil Diamond, but a tribute to a Neil Diamond Tribute Band! The film is based on the 2008 documentary of the same name and is directed by Craig Brewer. It stars Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, along with Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, Hudson Hensley, Fisher Stevens and Jim Belushi. Critics call the film, “a crowd-pleaser with a ton of heart!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCM0Ztp3o1o
ANACONDA: In this action-thriller-comedy-adventure, a group of friends going through a mid-life crisis head to the jungle to remake a favorite movie from their youth but encounter “unexpected events.” The film is directed by Tom Gormican and stars Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Selton Mello, Daniela Melchior, Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn. The film is a reimagining of the 1997 original. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMsFsfrPNaw
PLAN: We’ll kick off the event with a pre-show Happy Hour at nearby Bravo! We’ll confirm the details and exact meeting time once we get the showtimes, but planning for 5 to 5:30pm for the Happy Hour and a 7pm-ish showing of both films. For the movies, we’ll meet inside the lobby area about 20 minutes before showtimes! Once showtimes are announced, advance ticket purchase is advised. Once you have yours, please list your Movie of Choice and seat number in the Comments below. Complete details will be confirmed and announced as the date gets closer.
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
Contra dance Dec. 20 (First Unitarian Universalist Church)
# **Band: Firefly Trace, caller Kenny Greer**
Beginner lesson at 7:30, regular dancing begins at 8:00
**Sponsor: All Soles Contra and Square Dancing, First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus OH 43214**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
Please bring your own refillable water bottle.
