High School Alumni

The chapter meets periodically and brings together a carefully curated group of business owners, independent and liberal professionals, sole proprietors, self-employed individuals, traders, and craftsmen. Our objective goes beyond networking, as we will work to give back to the society. To preserve the value of these groups, each chapter will have the policy of only one representative per profession. This ensures a non-competitive environment where members can openly support one another, exchange insights, and grow together. Additionally, an attendance policy will be in place to encourage commitment and continuity, ensuring that every member contributes and benefits the collective momentum of the group. At this initial stage, all participation revenues will be donated to a non-profit organization called SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde, reinforcing our belief that successful businesses have a responsibility beyond themselves. The meetings will be held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. **What we will do together** **1.** Cycle from Luxembourg gare **(front of Police station)** to Remerschen Youth Hostel (about 32km). **2.** Have a meal at the Youth hostel **(warm dining area inside the Youth Hostel).** Those who wish to do a shorter ride can take the **bus** from Remerschen back to Lux gare. **3.** Cycle from Remerschen to Wasserbilling gare (about 36km). If we maintain an average speed of about 18km/hour and have a total stop time of 90 minutes (including 1 hour meal at the youth hostel), we can finish the ride in 5 hours. **Getting home from the finishing point (Wasserbillig gare)** There are trains from Wasserbillig to Luxembourg Gare every 30 minutes. Also, there are buses going from Wasserbillig to other directions. **What to bring** 1\. Your bike in tip top condition\. 2\. Energy snacks\. 3\. Lots of fluids to stay hydrated\. 4. **Packed food** for the meal at the Youth hostel. **ALTERNATIVELY,** you can **order food** at Remerschen Youth hostel, if we get there before 14:00h. Let's celebrate the bank holiday together by eating some delicious Georgian/Kazakh food at Brasserie Favorite! I only discovered this place recently, and I'm obsessed! I have yet to meet a plate there I don't like. It's a small menu, but there's something for everyone on it. The staff are great, portions are generous, and the central location is hard to beat. I've booked a table for 8 of us at 18:30. As always, the PayPal fee is simply a deposit to secure your seat and fight against no-shows. This month we will be discussing **Frank Santoro**, an American cartoonist, painter, and comics critic known for his expressive lines, experimental page layouts, and vibrant use of color. His graphic novels—including *Storeyville*, *Pompeii*, and *Pittsburgh*—blend personal storytelling with innovative visual structure, often exploring memory, place, and relationships. In addition to his comics, Santoro has been an influential voice in comics education and criticism, co-founding the magazine *ComicsComics* and creating the **Santoro Correspondence Course for Comic Book Makers**, which has helped train and inspire a new generation of cartoonists. Afterwards, we will have time to work on our individual art projects, hang out, and if anyone is interested in feedback on their work, there will be time for that as well.
