Let's improve our self-awareness, by getting into the habit of writing our thoughts and emotions. & Let's enhance our curiosity and compassion in others, by giving others and ourselves an insight into the unknown lives of strangers. Join us for our 1.5 hours writing event. We will have some exercises prepared that give us the opportunity to write and share about our thoughts/emotions/experiences and use a variety of prompts. HOMEWORK: Before the event, we ask participants to reflect and write +/- 10 minutes about a time they felt proud of something or someone. Participants can choose which parts of their writing they feel comfortable sharing. **FEE:** €5 to support the group. Please pay the organiser at the event. Hello Everyone! Let's read something before coming to the event. It can be a few pages from a book, an article, a poem, an advertisement, a joke, a recipe, a quote, social media content - anything you find interesting. We meet and chat about it, as a starting point of conversation. Please feel free to bring books :)

**Speaker:** Mick Cooney Survival analysis is a statistical method for analyzing the expected duration of time until an event occurs. In this one-hour talk, we will walk through the application of survival analysis to life insurance policy lapses, starting from foundational concepts and moving toward Bayesian modeling approaches using Stan. We will begin by setting the scene with a practical example: the impact of the 2008-2011 credit crisis on Irish life insurance. This provides a backdrop to introduce core survival analysis concepts, including censoring, truncation, survival functions, and hazard functions. Next, we will review classic approaches to modeling survival data. We will cover the non-parametric Kaplan-Meier estimator, discuss standard parametric models, and examine semi-parametric methods like the Cox Proportional Hazards model. The second half of the talk will focus on Bayesian survival analysis. Using R and Stan, we will demonstrate how to construct Bayesian models for time-to-event data. We will step through the process of assessing model fit and discuss strategies for improving model performance, focusing on handling right-censored data and quantifying uncertainty. This session provides an overview for practitioners interested in applying both traditional and Bayesian survival analysis techniques to their own data problems.

Direction and design are by the visionary **Netia Jones**, who co-created and directed INO’s Olivier award nominated *Least Like The Other, Searching for Rosemary Kennedy.* INO’s Artistic Director **Fergus Sheil** conducts the INO orchestra and chorus. *Rusalka* is sung in Czech with English surtitles.

**Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key. We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily.
