Fairland Intermediate weekend Ride
Please read and agree to the following waiver:
[MVD Mountain Bikers Waiver](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z6YtRf6ZWXqLqcQN3g44BsKtwbHqsRMG/view?usp=sharing)
Here is a non-competitive but a little up-pace ride.
If you mountain bike regularly then this ride is for you.
This is a No-Drop ride.
Wheels rolling at 3pm unless someone sends a message and say they're running a little late. Feel free to text or call if you need to 240-603-6948. Also please call me if you get separated from the group.
Depending on the endurance and skill level of riders, this ride will be around 10-12 miles.
The pace I aim to keep is no more than 7-8mph with rest stops as needed. We will wait for every rider at the trail crossings.
About Fairland: 95% non-technical ride with few major climbs and no mandatory obstacles (they all have ride-arounds). Promise, no rocks. None! Anyway, there are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, and balance on the boardwalks, and some good flow trails.
Video of our ride at Fairland: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1-b0EDVb08
What to bring:
ID and emergency contact info in an easy to find spot!
Plenty of water, helmet (no helmet no ride), your mtb of course!, multi-tool (although you can borrow mine), patch kit, extra tube (make sure it has the same valve you need for your wheel), a snack if you're doing both loops.
Here at MVD MTB'ers meetup page, we always appreciate any feedback, write a group review Here (http://www.meetup.com/MVDMountainBikers/about/comments/?op=all)
Waiver: Mountain biking is a risky sport, By signing up for this meetup you are agreeing to the waiver posted at the top of this description

May 17 Invasive Plant Removal at TRI
April showers bring May flowers! We are NPS Weed Warriors and Arlington Regional Master Naturalists and you should volunteer with us on Sunday, May 17 to learn about nature and remove invasive plants from everyone's favorite urban island.
Meet us at the entrance to the bridge (on the parking lot side, look for the sign) at 10:00 and bring your garden gloves and loppers/pruners if you have them. If not, we can provide gloves and tools. Wear long sleeves and pants and don't forget a water bottle.
We will have tasks ranging from easy (cutting English ivy and honeysuckle vines from trees) to hard (sawing down bush honeysuckle).
Parking at TRI can be tight if it's a pretty day. When the parking lot is full, you can park in Rosslyn and take the trail down. If you can bike or walk or take public transit, that's wonderful.
We'll see you there!
Erica, Stephanie, and Heidi
P.S. If you can't wait until then to RIP (Remove Invasive Plants!), go here to find more volunteer opportunities in Arlington parks:

They rely 100% on public funds. This is an amazing event with amazing people and the funds raised go to an amazing cause!
**MATCHING DONATIONS**
Poplar Spring was given $15,000 in matching donations. DOUBLING your donation! Please share this with your family and friends. Your involvement is critical to Poplar Spring’s success. Click [HERE](https://www.classy.org/fundraiser/7076844) to donate.
By the way, the food provided afterwards is all vegan! This is rare and definitely very appreciated!
Schedule (optional for everyone!)
7:55 meet in front of start line for "pre" group picture (make sure to indicate Vegan-powered as your team when you sign up!)
8:00 5k start time (after your finish meet near finish line to cheer on others & check your posted run time for accuracy & that they included you on VP team.)

Come on out and we'll have a great time, while supporting a worthy cause in the process...Hope you can make it!

When coming to the meetup you do so voluntarily and are ready and able to participate in the ride as described under the conditions of the day. Be on time for the "pre-ride" preparation. If you do not attend the pre-ride preparation you will not be allowed to participate on the ride. There are NO exceptions to the above.

Join us for a ride in the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve and learn why the Ag Reserve is the envy of cyclists in the mid-Atlantic. This ride is great for advanced beginners ready to try a more challenging ride with a supportive group. We’ll ride on some of the most beautiful roads in the Reserve-- passing by active farms, horses, orchards, woods and streams. We'll ride on paved country roads with very light traffic. Mostly rolling hills with several climbs to challenge you. Best suited for road bikes or a hybrid that can tackle hills. As with all WWO rides, there will be a leader and a sweep, and no one will be left behind.
