For this meetup, we’re swapping the rehearsal room for a bar and bringing our laptops, demos, and dreamiest ideas with us. We’ll listen to any tracks and sounds we’ve created so far, share what’s working, and shape where we want the project to go next. Bring along songs, bands, instruments, tones, or production styles that inspire you — we’ll use them as reference points to help define our collective dream pop / synthwave direction. Along with all that we need lyrics so feel free to bring any or come up with some on the way 📑 We’ll also chat through DAWs, workflow tips, and the best ways to share stems, sessions, and ideas so collaboration feels smooth rather than chaotic. Expect good tunes, good banter, and plenty of neon-tinged music chat 😎🎶 (Btw despite the title of this meetup we are most definitely open to guitar players also, especially those into a dream pop and atmospheric style 🎸)

\***/\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\*** Why then, even if we do Zazen, does our mind not become pure? Still finding pleasure in doing what is not best for our practice and unable to become that pure mind like a baby-this is because we are filled with data from our whole past, from the past of all beings. Nobody wants to see and acknowledge that, but we are not born out of thin air. We live within a narrow-minded version of a much bigger picture. Harada Roshi. To study the Buddha Way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self. To forget the self is to be actualized by myriad things. When actualized by myriad things, your body and mind as well as the bodies and minds of others drop away. No trace of realization remains, and this no trace continues endlessly. Dogen. **What we do:** Are you interested in Meditation ? Perhaps you would be interested in our evening of Meditation? Our tradition is that of Rinzai Zen, our teacher Harada Roshi. Our main practice during the evening is Zazen, seated Meditation practice. Sitting together in silence we turn our attention inward and seek to awaken to the truth of that which we truly are. We start the evening with taichi qigong shibashi standing practice, followed by Zazen and end with chanting of the Heart Sutra. **Organisers Statement.** All interested in Meditation practice welcome, beginners and experienced persons alike. One Drop Zen Dublin is a Not for Profit Group. **A contribution of €10 for the evening to help cover rental costs is greatly appreciated.** **Unfortunately we do not own our own space.**

Holy schmoly - we forgot to post this, and it's tomorrow! Six or seven OFFICIAL SEATS left >>>>> Check your schedule first (it's not cool to not show!) BOOK HERE [https://ti.to/dublin-java-user-group/2603-loic-magnette](https://ti.to/dublin-java-user-group/2603-loic-magnette) We're flying Loic Magnette in from Belgium for.... ## JavaScript (No, Not That One!) Modern Automation with Java If you're like Loïc, as a Java developer, every time you want or need to write a quick automation script, you struggle to remember how to properly write some bash or python. On those days, you probably end up "vibe coding" it and struggle once again when you want to adapt it. If only you could write it in Java! You might say "but Java is not for scripting" and I don't want to bother with maven or Gradle. Modern Java has quietly eliminated the traditional barriers that made it unsuitable for scripting. With instant execution, shebang support, and zero-setup automation, Java has evolved into a lean scripting language that lets you write precise, maintainable code without the "vibe coding" that often comes with unfamiliar languages. In this talk, Loïc will show you how Java became a first-class scripting language and why it might just become your new favourite tool for automation. . ## **Talk 2:** AI-Powered Form Wizards: Chat, Click, Done! Forms are everywhere; tax declarations, job applications, or even signing up for a new service. Although some forms are simple, many include ambiguous fields, complicated logic, or subpar design, which frustrates users and makes them more likely to make mistakes. Completing paperwork shouldn't be like solving a puzzle. What if consumers could just chat with an AI that walks them through each step instead of having to struggle? In this session, Loïc discusses his experience developing an AI-powered form-filling helper with LangChain4j, Quarkus and other useful Java libraries. He'll go over the challenges faced and how to overcome them, such as transforming text into form data with validations, assisting users based on their input, and the role of RAG in all of that. Loïc's talk will use examples to demonstrate how AI can assist users in their daily interactions with your software, so you will have the ideas and techniques to create more intelligent and user-friendly forms. Learn how to make forms enjoyable rather than tedious by using AI to assist your users, reduce errors, and eliminate aggravation. .

Zazen Meditation + Dharma talk or Kinhin
Zazen Meditation + Dharma talk or Kinhin
The meaning of the word zen is meditation, zazen means sitting meditation. In zazen practice we begin to know ourselves, and to go beyond the limits of our personal ego. Within our tradition zazen is referred to as shikantaza, not doing, letting go of thoughts, dropping off body and mind. This sitting meditation is the focus of our practice. Language limits our ability to communicate the true nature of zen; it is something that is better understood through practice. We are open to everyone interested in learning about zen. Intro workshop for newcomers is available at 5.30pm each Sunday. The dojo is a sacred place and it is important to be considerate of everyone. We have many people that travel to practise together once a week or once a month. So for that reason it is really essential that we all know the structure of the sitting practise (when to sit, how to do Kinhin, the different bell sounds and their meaning etc), to ensure a silent, safe and meaningful meditation. And it's also great to meet everyone before the sitting practise. And answer any questions you may have. We have zafus and zabutons (mats and cushions) for all to sit on. Chairs are available too. Comfortable clothing for sitting, black or neutral tones best. We greatly appreciate a donation of €5 to cover costs if it's possible for you. Please arrive 10min before start so 6ish (if you're not doing the intro workshop). You are very welcome to our dojo!

📚 Books & Social 🍸
📚 Books & Social 🍸
📚Reading books and discussing them are two distinct experiences! Conversations about books and sharing insights help us better appreciate literature and enrich our lives. Let's grab a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and discuss books we're currently reading or have recently enjoyed—whether poetry, fiction, or non-fiction. Bring your physical book or e-reader. There's no formal structure or agenda—just books and good conversation.💬 It's a perfect place to get book recommendations and rediscover your reading momentum if you've hit a slump. We welcome readers of all backgrounds and interests! ⚠️**Something Happened?** If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. Even if it seems minor, don't hesitate to reach out to me. 🔍 **How to find us?** * When I reach the venue, I'll leave a comment in the meetup where the group is seated. Normally, the booking is in my name, so you can ask the staff for the group. * If you're unable to find us, leave a comment in the meetup page. I'll be able to guide you. We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event! As an organizer, I'm always looking for feedback about the event and suggestions for new events, so feel free to suggest ideas to me. 💡 I look forward to seeing you all! 😊
Twin Hearts meditation in Rush
Twin Hearts meditation in Rush
The Twin Hearts Meditation was developed by Master Choa Kok Sui to help flush out negative thoughts and emotions that congest our mind and body every day. Meditating on the Twin Hearts enables the body to absorb a tremendous amount of energy which many refer to as Prana, Chi or life’s energy. This has a flushing and cleansing effect, then stimulating and energising effect through the practitioners’ system resulting in better physical, emotional and mental health. For Stress Relief & Wellbeing. Scientifically validated to reduce stress and anxiety, increase memory, focus and positive brain activity. Flush out negativity and achieve peace and stillness in less than 30 minutes. COST: Donation Box (Donations cover the cost of the room and proceeds are then donated to Pranic Healing Charity Ireland)
