Squishface Monthly Drawing Night MARCH @ SQUISHFACE
LAST WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH so **IT'S DRAWING NIGHT AT SQUISHFACE** FYI: we may have someone shooting some video this night for a student documentary. If you don't want to be filmed you can let him know. Join us at Squishface's studio space in South Melbourne: Studio Hall, on the grounds of St Kilda South Port Uniting Church on Dorcas St. There are FOUR TRAMS you can catch from the city. **58, 96, 12** or the **1!** It is even walkable from the city. Bring your sketch books, bring your pens, bring a friend. It's not a class - it's a drawing hang out. All skill levels welcome. Always lots of regulars, always newies. Be socially awkward, be confident as heck. This is informal, it's just a free drawing session. Go ahead and bring snacks. But no nuts please! Our venue is wheelchair accessible, as are the very toilets. Minors are welcome but will need an accompanying adult. Contact us on 0422509144 if any issues or you get lost. Document (& Data) Freedom Day
Let's gather to learn and discuss the importance of open standards, free document formats. If you've ever been locked out of a file because you didn't have the right software, or worried about your personal notes on EverNote or company notes on the cloud, this is exactly the kind of conversation worth having. Especially now, in the new era of AI, while our documents and data are more prayed on, there are more potential opportunities to store, access and hardness insight from our documents privately and securely. Join the meeting to listen in, to participate in the discussion or even present a lightning talk about a topic or technology you are passionate about. ### Getting to Inspire9 Maps Link for Inspire9: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/eRMAXpBdmG1Ece4m9](https://maps.app.goo.gl/eRMAXpBdmG1Ece4m9) ##### Transport Train station is located right next to Inspire9. Melbourne AWS User Group #157 - March 2026
🎉 **Melbourne AWS User Group – March Meetup** 🎉 --- 📅 Wednesday, 25 March 📍 NAB Events Hub – 395 Bourke Street, Melbourne ⏰ Food at 6:00 pm, talks from 6:30 pm (with live stream) Join us for our March for our March meetup as we explore two important areas of modern cloud architecture: **security and resilience**. This month we’ll look at how organisations can improve least-privilege access using IAM Access Analyzer, and how to design highly resilient architectures using AWS fault isolation and multi-region patterns. This month’s lineup features: • **Hazra Ali**, a brand new **AWS Community Builder for 2026**, is presenting on how business analysis techniques can improve outcomes when using AWS IAM Access Analyzer. • **Anshika Gupta** sharing architectural principles for building resilient systems using static stability, fault isolation, and multiple AWS Regions. A huge thank you to our sponsors: 🥇 **Mantel Group – Gold Sponsor**, 🥈 **Cevo – Silver Sponsor**, 🏛 **NAB – Venue Sponsor** The event will be live-streamed on YouTube as always. *** 🗓️ **Agenda** 6:00 pm – Food & Socialising 6:30 pm – Introductions 6:40 pm – What’s New in AWS 6:55 pm – **Business Analysis in AWS IAM Access Analyzer (Level 100)**; Speaker: Hazra Ali 7:25 pm – **Reinforcing Resilience in the Real World with Static Stability, Fault Isolation and Multiple Regions (Level 200)**; Speaker: Anshika Gupta 7:55 pm – Marketplace (Who’s Hiring) 8:00 pm – Networking + Close *** 🎤 **Talk Details** **Business Analysis in AWS IAM Access Analyzer** Speaker: Hazra Ali Level: 100 Business analysis plays a crucial role in helping organisations implement change to address challenges and leverage solutions that deliver value. AWS IAM Access Analyzer helps organisations grant precise permissions as requirements evolve, guiding users toward least privilege by enabling them to set, verify, and refine permissions. In this presentation, Hazra will explore how business analysis practices can enhance the effectiveness of IAM Access Analyzer when solving real-world problems. The session will also discuss how AI can support business analysis workflows and assist in understanding the core concepts behind IAM Access Analyzer. *** **Reinforcing Resilience in the Real World with Static Stability, Fault Isolation and Multiple Regions** Speaker: Anshika Gupta Level: 200 At AWS, resilience is viewed as a continuous process, built on years of experience working with customers operating critical workloads. In this session, Anshika will explore how to design systems using AWS fault isolation boundaries and the concept of static stability to achieve predictable recovery times and high availability. You’ll learn: • How AWS Regions are designed and operated for resilience • Key architectural patterns AWS services use to maintain operations during disruptions • How static stability helps maintain availability under failure conditions • Practical architecture patterns for building multi-region resilience This session will showcase design principles, best practices, and example architectures that can help you meet your resilience requirements for mission-critical workloads. *** 🙌 **Want to Speak at a Future Meetup?** We’re always looking for new speakers and believe everyone has an interesting talk waiting to be shared. **IMPORTANT: THIS EVENT IS WEATHER DEPENDANT. PLEASE REVISIT THIS PAGE ON FRIDAY 27 FOR FURTHER UPDATES.** Join us for an immersive landscape photography session along one of Melbourne’s most dramatic stretches of coastline. In the event of heavy rain or overcast skies that obscure the sunset, we will notify all attendees by Friday 27th March. **The Schedule** **5.00 PM:** Meet at the Red Bluff Lookout car park [https://maps.app.goo.gl/YSnaDTt9Lwp2rRk17](https://maps.app.goo.gl/YSnaDTt9Lwp2rRk17) **6.00 PM:** Meet at the start of Black Rock Jetty [https://maps.app.goo.gl/UK2ex424pfJ2Mu8V8](https://maps.app.goo.gl/UK2ex424pfJ2Mu8V8) (Half Moon Bay, Black Rock). **6:35 PM:** Golden Hour starts. Inclusive Grief Circle: Honouring Loss Through Ceremony, Community & Creativity
Inclusive Grief Circle: Honouring Loss Through Ceremony, Community & Creativity
Read reviews from past participants [here](https://www.greenhousecreativesanctuary.com/inclusivegrief) “Grief has never been private, it has always been communal. Subconsciously, we are awaiting the presence of others, before we can feel safe enough to drop to our knees on the holy ground of sorrow. For the most part, grief is not a problem to be solved, not a condition to be medicated, but a deep encounter with an essential experience of being human. Grief becomes problematic when the conditions needed to help us work with grief are absent.” - Francis Weller Our primary association with grief is the loss of a loved one but there are so many kinds of losses that don't have formal ceremonies that are important to honour. Unprocessed grief can accumulate in weight, dulling our senses and capacity for aliveness. This is a safe, supportive space for all shapes, sizes and textures of grief- for the loss of our loved ones, for the childhood we did not get to have, for the parts of ourselves that have been rejected and exiled, for friendships and relationships with ambiguous endings, for homes and communities we are distanced from and miss, for the suffering of the world and our fellow beings. This inclusive grief circle is also an advocacy for compassionate and attentive grief work, for reshaping our understanding of and relationship with grief. It is a holding space, a container, a time and a deep permission to acknowledge our emotions, our connections, the ways we have been touched and transformed, and our humanity. We will make art in response to the Grief Deck, share and witness each other’s stories and journeys, and co-create a group nature mandala together. **Please bring a jar and 8-10 similar natural objects (8 flowers or 8 sticks or 8 stones).** If you are facing financial hardship, please key in CONCESSION as a promo code for a discounted price of $25. If that is still difficult, please email me at greenhouse.arttherapy@gmail.com. No one will be turned away. **Please also note:** * This is an art-therapy informed community-based creative workshop, and is not intended to replace individual or group therapy, and is also not for emergency crisis support or intervention. * If you are comfortable with me taking photos of you and/or your artwork for learning and supervision purposes, and to offer others a sense of what the workshop is like, please let me know at the start of the session. Your participation would be greatly appreciated! * While the estimated time is 2 hours, it might overrun depending on the size of the group and the conversations we are having so please allow some grace for that.
