We run 5 kms around Bois de la Cambre divided in one bigger lap of 3,5 kms and a smaller one of 1,5 kms. Both start and end at the Woodpecker so, if needed, you can stop there after the first lap. For this hike we will mostly follow the ***GR 122 and the Regional GR “Vlaamse Ardennen”.*** We’ll start our hike in Zottegem and wander through the rolling hills of the Flemish Ardennes. Along the way we’ll pass ***historic watermills such as the Bostmolen, Zwalmmolen and Pedesmolen*** and enjoy the peaceful ***Zwalm valley.*** The route takes us through ***charming hamlets, quiet country roads and nature reserves like De Blarenhoek***. Expect ***sweeping views over fields and forests, authentic farms*** and plenty of rural tranquility before returning to our starting point. As this will be our first walk of the New Year, we are offering an optional reflection session before the walk. Theme of the reflection: What do we want to let go of? This **pre-walk session is an optional addition**. Happy New Year, dear hikers! For those who are already back in Brussels and in need of a bit of fresh air after the holiday indulgences, let's go for a hike along the Demer north of Leuven! We will start the hike at the train station of Wijgmaal and walk through a varied landscape of fields, forests, wetlands and little villages until we reach Aarschot where we will look for a final drink. I have my eye on the Cafe of the Microbrouwerij Den Druppel, which hopefully should be open on Sunday. As the number of participants is limited, it is important that you manage your registration responsibly: only sign up if you really intend to come and cancel as soon as you know you can’t (this also goes for people on the waiting list!). We will try to keep close to an average speed of about 5 km/h. We will walk mainly on unpaved roads. The FREE workshop series around robotics and ESP32 is back, until at least June 2026 ! This session will be focused on **Bluetooth connectivity**.
