Beyond UX: Digital Products as Intelligent Partners
Digital products are evolving from “screens” to intelligent partners—services that notice context, anticipate intent, and adapt in real time. That shift is exciting… and risky. How do we design experiences that feel helpful without becoming creepy, confusing, or out of control?
Join us at Product Design Talks by Ergomania for:
Beyond UX: How Digital Products Become Intelligent Partners
**📍 Rudas Bistro, 1013 Budapest, Döbrentei tér 9.**
**📅 18 February 2026 \| 🕔 17:00**
⏱ Practical, inspiring knowledge in 2 hours
We’ll unpack **Sentient Design** (popularised by Josh Clark): moving beyond rigid self-service flows toward **products** that **respond** **dynamically** to **real-life situations. Think: your banking app surfaces the right action the moment you land in Tokyo** \- currency exchange\, nearby ATMs\, relevant insights\, without you hunting for them\.
Programme:
**17:00 Welcome reception**
**17:20 Talk: When Banking Apps Stop Being Static and Start Noticing Context — [Adam Dragus](https://www.linkedin.com/in/adamdragus/)**
**17:45 Panel: [Dr Andras Rung - UX Strategist](https://www.linkedin.com/in/drandrasrung/), [Adam Gyökhegyi](https://www.linkedin.com/in/adamgy/), [Adam Dragus](https://www.linkedin.com/in/adamdragus/), [Gábor Lukács](https://www.linkedin.com/in/gbr-lukacs/)**
**18:45 Networking**
In the panel we’ll compare approaches teams use today, **discuss when anticipation helps vs. hurts, and how to balance adaptability with clarity**, **trust**, and **user** **control**, especially in regulated products.
Bring your questions—there’ll be time for discussion, and you’ll meet like-minded peers over drinks.

DevBP #13: P-AI-R Programming, from Mobbing to Agents
Join us for an evening dedicated to the evolving landscape of software engineering. As our tools become more powerful, our focus shifts from simply writing syntax to building architecture and stronger teams.
We’ll explore two distinct sides of this evolution: the human side, where **peer and mob programming** foster trust and shared ownership, and the technical side, where **AI agents** allow us to "print code" and one-shot complex features. Whether you are looking to improve "team quality" or manage the "review bottleneck" of AI-driven development, this meetup offers practical insights for every engineer.
This English-language event will be held at the **Formlabs Budapest office**, where we'll provide snacks and drinks to fuel conversations.
Arrival is from 17:30, Announcements and agenda at 17:55, first presentations will start at 18:00.
\-\-\-
**Peer Programming to increase "Team Quality"**
**with [Nico Riedmann](https://www.linkedin.com/in/nico-riedmann/)**
Most engineers are familiar with pair programming. Your team may already encourage it to foster learning or as an alternative to ensuring code quality via pull-request reviews. This talk will show you the impact that collaboratively creating code has on "team quality" rather than just "code quality" - creating opportunities to build trust, increase shared ownership, and define and better understand a shared vision. And if you weren’t convinced before, we’ll end with a few practical tips on getting started with pair and mob-programming.
**One-Shotting Features: The Reality of Agentic Workflows**
**With [János Molnár](https://www.linkedin.com/in/j%C3%A1nos-moln%C3%A1r-9b582896/)**
This talk explores our journey from using AI as a glorified auto-complete to one-shotting complex features.
I’ll discuss our team’s evolution from using AI for basic code generation to adopting agentic workflows that shift our focus toward planning and architecture. We’ll explore the benefits of this high-level approach alongside the "review bottleneck" that occurs when AI velocity outpaces human auditing, and how we adapted our processes while releasing and building our Greenhouse project.

Come learn and connect with other tech enthusiasts. See you there!

How to Kill Your Business: Learn From Real-World Failure
**We are back. And by popular demand: We are finally doing this on a Friday!**
For Event #4, we’re flipping the script. Forget the best practices. This time, we're focusing on **worst practices.** We’ll dissect real business failures through three lenses: legal, psychological, and marketing. Decisions that looked smart on paper, passed approval, and still detonated.
We’ll revisit familiar disasters like **Theranos** and **Fyre Festival**, then go deeper into lesser-known, more uncomfortable cases and even scandals including global brand implosions and local examples like **Shrooly**.
**This isn’t about laughing at failure.** It’s about understanding how smart teams convince themselves bad ideas are good ones, and learning how to spot the moment everything starts going wrong.
**The Agenda & What You'll Learn**
Three angles, one goal: Make sure you don't end up on this list next year.
* **17:45:** Arrive, grab a drink (it's Friday!), and connect.
* **18:00 – 18:15: How NOT to run your business (legal angle).** We look at the structural red flags that sink ships. From the valuation hallucinations of **WeWork** to the **Honey scam** and local hardware flops like **Shrooly**. We’ll cover how to mismanage cash, ignore the law, and implode your company from the inside out.
* **18:15 – 18:30: How NOT to gain customers (marketing angle).** “There’s no such thing as bad publicity” is how this always starts. Then the backlash hits. We’ll break down campaigns that went viral for all the wrong reasons - from **Pepsi and Bumble** to **Bud Light and Apple** \- unpacking how rebrands\, stunts\, and culture\-driven ads cross the line from attention to alienation\, and how brands lose their audience because of some 'viral' ideas\.
* **18:30 – 18:35:** **🎁** A super secret surprise
* **18:35 – 18:50: How NOT to handle customers (psychological angle).** Users don’t leave when something breaks, instead they leave when something feels off. We’ll explore dark UX patterns, manipulative design, and behavioral shortcuts that quietly cross ethical lines from **friend.com** to platforms that optimized engagement until users turned hostile. This is how loyal users become your loudest critics.
* **18:50 – 19:00:** A very special announcement
* **19:00 – 20:00:** Genuine networking & conversations with quality food and drinks.
* **20:00 onwards:** We are heading to a nearby bar. Since **nobody** has work tomorrow, we expect the conversation to go late.
**Who Is This For?**
This is for freelancers, digital nomads, and founders in Budapest who want to disaster-proof their work. Join a community of curious, open-minded people for an honest conversation. No corporate fluff, just genuine connections. If you want actionable takeaways on what *not* to do, this is for you.
**Location**
We'll be hosting at the fantastic **KLUSTER Coworking** space.
**The Legal Bit**
Our imaginary lawyers (who are currently panicking about this event topic) wanted us to mention that we'll be taking some photos. By attending, you consent to this.
Thanks for reading, see you on **the 20th**!

Intro to Shaders in Unity
This meetup is a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop focused on building shaders in Unity using Shader Graph. Instead of slides or theory-heavy lectures, we'll build real shaders together step-by-step.
The format is structured but interactive. You'll watch a quick demo, then build each shader yourself with guidance. By the end, you'll have created multiple shaders you can immediately use in your own projects—and understand how to make more.
**What to Expect:**
* Build 4–5 complete shaders from scratch
* Color tints, snow accumulation, scrolling water, dissolve effects, and more
* No prior shader experience required
* Checkpoint files provided if you fall behind
* Resources for continued learning
All experience levels are welcome. Whether you've never opened Shader Graph or just want to fill gaps in your knowledge, this is a supportive space to learn by doing.
**Food and drinks provided. Join us to learn, build, and level up your shader skills.**
I added the Unity project to the repo here - https://github.com/EricJRico/IntroToShaders.git
This is what we'll be using for the session.
Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation*
Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, we’ll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifacts—living documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification.
You’ll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. We’ll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, we’ll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written.
This talk will cover:
--What spec-driven development is (and what it isn’t)
--How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows
--Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development
--Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence
Whether you’re building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects.

Board games at The Forge
The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group!
The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play.
Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes.
We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area.
Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that.
We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
