I present some short, practical uses of R, such as studying patterns in neti pot usage so I can breathe more easily, understanding my employer-provided private health insurance plan so I can figure out how much of a scam it is, and correcting predictably erroneous payslips so I can pay my taxes.

No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: - 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros. - Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour. - After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
