AI Policy Tuesday: AI Safety in Healthcare
This is a ticketed event. Please register at [this link](https://luma.com/5seq0r1v).
***Who's governing the AI your doctor trusts?***
Healthcare AI is crossing thresholds faster than governance can keep pace. In Utah, an AI is now legally prescribing medication without a doctor. In January, OpenAI launched ChatGPT Health, and Anthropic released Claude for Healthcare. AI companies are benchmarking their models against expert clinicians' performance and rapidly closing the gap—and, in some cases, surpassing them. Meanwhile, Elon Musk is encouraging users to upload medical imaging to Grok for analysis.
This talk will explore how today's fragmented regulatory approach creates systemic vulnerabilities that could amplify as systems become more capable. [Pascal Thibeault](https://www.uottawa.ca/faculty-law/common-law/faculty/thibeault-pascal)[ ](https://www.uottawa.ca/faculty-law/common-law/faculty/thibeault-pascal)will examine the growing chasm between AI deployment and AI governance in clinical care, and consider which governance frameworks might help prepare us for a future where AI systems operate with increasing autonomy.
**Event Schedule**
6:00 to 6:30 - Food and introductions
6:30 to 7:30 - Presentation and Q&A
7:30 to 9:00 - Open Discussions
If you can't attend in person, join our live stream starting at 6:30 pm via [this link.](https://www.youtube.com/@Trajectory-Labs/live)
This is part of our weekly [AI Policy Tuesdays ](AI Policy Tuesdays)series. Join us in examining questions like:
* How should AI development be regulated?
* What are the economic and social implications of widespread automation?
* How do we balance innovation with safety considerations?
* What governance structures are needed for safer AI?
🥞🎉 13th ANNUAL PANCAKE TUESDAY DINNER! 🎉🥞
🥞🎉 **13th ANNUAL PANCAKE TUESDAY DINNER!** 🎉🥞
**A Social + Friends-Making Night (and a Very Good Excuse to Eat Pancakes)**
Why stay home when you can come out for **PANCAKES on Pancake Tuesday (Shrove Tuesday)**? 🥞✨
This delicious tradition happens the night before Lent — a time when, historically, people used up all the *butter, sugar, and sweet things* before giving something up for 40 days. (You do **not** have to be Catholic — it’s just a fun tradition I grew up with… and honestly, pancakes are reason enough.)
It’s a weeknight, it’s cozy, it’s social, and it’s the perfect excuse to gather, laugh, and make new friends over a plate of fluffy goodness. 🧈🍯
👉 **Please note:** You don’t *have* to order pancakes…
…but it’s **highly encouraged** 😉🥞

Turn Your Professional Skills Into a Meaningful, Modern Advisory Role
Are you an early retiree with strong communication skills, problem‑solving ability, and confidence using computers? Are you exploring a purposeful way to stay engaged, use your skills, and support others — without stepping into a hobby group or leisure club environment?
If so, this information session is designed specifically for you.
The travel industry is expanding rapidly, and with travelers increasingly seeking guidance, the role of a Vacation Consultant has never been more relevant. This session will help you understand the work from a professional perspective — grounded in real tools, systems, training, and client service — not from a “perk-based” or “travel club” angle.
| This is not a role where you are left on your own — the training is extensive, clear, and practical. |

In 1832, Toronto was known as Little York and was to become the City of Toronto in 1834, the Gooderham and Worts Distillery was founded. By the late 1860s and 1870s, it blossomed into the world's largest distillery.
And it's a historic jewel on our waterfront, a place to stroll, meet up, have a coffee or a bite to eat. Come and explore one of Toronto's most fascinating neighbourhoods. And get a bird's eye view of how Toronto developed around the time that Canada became a country in 1867.
But let's not forget the district to the north. The area near the banks of the Don River on and around River Street and Queens Street East was the core of the Beer Industry. Let's take a look at how the two industries came together and who was involved.
For a quick peek at the walk check out this link on my YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/xAp97lI_20A
This walk is for all fitness levels.
The meeting place for our walking adventure is opposite the streetcar loop on Cherry Street just south of Mill Street at the eastern edge of the district. Cross Cherry Street and meet at the entrance to Tank House Lane.

TOPHATs RMCI, The Duke, Fighting 48th, and Salute to Terry Fox.
Join Lawrence, your top hatted host, for a Salute to our Canadian Heroes.
We will meet-up inside the entrance of the Royal Canadian Military Institute, where their story begins.
At 11:30 am SHARP! We will take the lift upstairs to their library on the 5th floor.
You are welcome to take photos, though no flash.
Then we will head to the 4th floor, to see the opulent 426 Grill restaurant and Sir William Otter room.
Afterwards, we descend to my favourite floor, to see the Long Bar, where the seat of the infamous Red Baron, resides. Followed by the Sword and Pistol room, which I am always awestruck by.
Down a few more stairs and we will see the Medals room, with a Victoria Cross featured.
https://www.rcmi.org/
426 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 1S9
At 12:15 pm, we will head over to the Duke of Cornwall for quick lunch and a pint.
At 1:15 pm, we will head south on University Avenue, to St. Andrews Church on King Street, to see the 48th Highlanders museum.
Your visit to this military museum in downtown Toronto will immerse you in our traditions and proud history:
from Victorian Toronto in 1891 when the Regiment was formed to the present day.
https://museum.48thhighlanders.ca/visit-us/
This museum closes at 2 pm, so our visit will be short.
Our last stop is in Metro Hall to see the Terry Fox memorial.
We will pass by the Gillie and Marc sculpture, where we will take a selfie.
That concludes our tour.
Nearby there is
Canada Walk of Fame, where you can find more Canadian Heroes

CBC Museum
It's located on the escalators to the underground food court.

Also, there is the Metro Hall PATH route to St. Andrew station, which is underground.

The brewery also has (passable) drip coffee, free water, and Jeni's ice cream. You can also walk over to the [Land Grant Extension](https://callinyourbluffcoffee.com/) for "real" coffee. (You may have to stand in line, though. The Extension is popular.)

* You'll (probably) have to park on the street, but street parking is free on Sundays.
* There are [parking garages](https://landgrantbrewing.com/parking/) a little farther away if you want. These are obviously not free, though.
* There is a [lot next door](https://www.google.com/maps/place/39%C2%B057'26.0%22N+83%C2%B000'40.9%22W/@39.957211,-83.0119921,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m12!1m7!3m6!1s0x88388f3efd89238b:0xc139207386232411!2sLand-Grant+Brewing+Company!8m2!3d39.9577613!4d-83.011426!16s%2Fg%2F1pzt7t9df!3m3!8m2!3d39.957211!4d-83.011347?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDEyMS4wIKXMDSoKLDEwMDc5MjA3MUgBUAM%3D) to the brewery that you're allowed to park in, but it is not free. I've never parked there, so I don't know anything about rates. (I'm told though that if you eat at Milo's Deli next door to this lot that Milo's will stamp your parking so it's free.)
* You're going to see odd signs on [Lucas St](https://www.google.com/maps/place/39%C2%B057'26.1%22N+83%C2%B000'40.3%22W/@39.957256,-83.0124134,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m10!1m5!3m4!2zMznCsDU3JzI4LjgiTiA4M8KwMDAnNDEuNSJX!8m2!3d39.957993!4d-83.011536!3m3!8m2!3d39.957256!4d-83.011197?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDEyMS4wIKXMDSoKLDEwMDc5MjA3MUgBUAM%3D) (saying it's a "private street") that will lead you to believe you're not allowed to park there, but you actually are.
* Columbus parking cops literally do not work on Sundays. This means that, even if you're driving a non-EV, you can park in the EV spots near the brewery.
