Jakarta Social Event at Paulaner Bräuhaus - Join Us!
Jakarta Social Event at Paulaner Bräuhaus - Join Us!
Join us for a fun and relaxed **night out at Paulaner Bräuhaus Jakarta** on **Saturday, May 30th at 7:00 PM**. Located in the heart of the city at **East Mall, Grand Indonesia**, The event is **split bill**, which means each person orders and pays for their own food and drinks. We will have space for **40 people** seated on **one large table near the band**, giving us the perfect setup to enjoy the music while still keeping the evening social and easy to mingle. Paulaner is a great setting for an evening of good food, drinks, live music, and conversation. Known for its Bavarian menu, freshly brewed beer, and lively atmosphere, it is the perfect place to bring people together for a social night out. Come spend the evening with **Jakarta Social** as we gather for a relaxed and enjoyable meetup focused on meeting new people, catching up with familiar faces, and enjoying a great night together. This event is all about enjoying the atmosphere. Arrive from **7:00 PM**, settle in, order some food and drinks, and enjoy a lively evening with good company and live music in one of Jakarta’s most popular social venues. Whether you are coming on your own or with a friend, this is a great chance to connect with others in a relaxed and welcoming setting. Later in the evening, for those who want to stay on, the venue will also be showing **PSG vs Arsenal in the Champions League**, so the night can continue with a bit of football after the main social part of the evening. Please note that this is a **booking-based event**, so **everyone must reconfirm using our link 3-4 days before the event**. This is important so we can finalize the reservation with the venue. If you are looking for a good night out with live music, a lively crowd, great conversation, and a chance to get to know new people, this should be a really enjoyable evening. **📢 IMPORTANT: Attendance Reconfirmation Required** To ensure accurate headcounts and reduce no-shows, we're implementing an updated reconfirmation system for all events. **Here's how it works:** * All events start with unlimited RSVPs. * 4 days before each event, a reconfirmation form will be posted in the event comments and shared in the WhatsApp group. * You must reconfirm ASAP by submitting the form. Your spot is guaranteed only after you reconfirm. * The form closes once we reach the target attendance number. * Anyone who hasn’t reconfirmed when the form closes will be removed from the attendee list. * If you can’t attend, change your status to Not Going. **Two‑strike rule: If you don’t reconfirm and don’t change to Not Going two times, you will be removed from the group.** Thanks for helping us keep things running smoothly. Looking forward to seeing you all there. If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know here or join our friendly and active WhatsApp Group Chat: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/FBQsf4Cv4yWACNs9gbiYNH](https://chat.whatsapp.com/FBQsf4Cv4yWACNs9gbiYNH) Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/jakartasocialgroup](https://www.instagram.com/jakartasocialgroup)

UP! AND! WRITE! Vol. L 🎉 (50!!!)** Everyone is always welcome to join our events. Our community is all about creating authentic in-person connections in this urban jungle. Come as you are... it’s the best version of yourself. **ABOUT THE EVENT** So, you want to write? Then shut up and write! Writing is 0.01% "inspiration" and 99.99% getting down to it. We will meet for a circa **2,5 hour writing session at Maxx Coffee in Kemang Village/Lippo Mall**, a cozy café with an open space and inside sitting area at group floor of Lippo Mall! It doesn't matter if you are an established writer or if you are picking up pen and paper for the first time. **Just show up, get down to it, and start writing.** Everyone will be working on their own thing, and we won't talk during writing. If you need some prompt or suggestion on what to write, I'll be happy to give you some ideas. After the circa 2,5 h writing session session, we will switch off our laptops and close our notebooks (but if you want to keep going, feel free!) and chill down. We can also share each other texts and give feedback, if that's something someone would like to do. **The rules of the game:** 1. We aim to start together in order not to disrupt the process for everyone. Please be on time. 2. No talking at the table during writing! After arriving at the table, we will focus on our own writing 3. You can take as many breaks as you want of course Don't be late as we want to start writing together, and please do **update your RSVP at least 24h before the event** if you cannot come, else you will take away a spot from a person in the waitlist. **Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you. The building address is 4450 Bridge Park The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400 You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge. **Abstract** Like it or not, AI agents are now capable of turning a quickly written paragraph of requirements into a pull request that is ready to be integrated into real-world production applications and it's now our responsibility to make sure AI doesn't go rogue and take down prod - or corrupt our data by misunderstanding the requirements or our existing schemas. In this session we'll explore strategies to protect our codebases through unit and integration testing, documentation, and code review along with additional ways of providing context and guard rails to our AI agents as they carry out the work we've assigned them to do. By the time we're done, you'll have a firm grasp of the problem and understand some helpful options for protecting your codebase from vibe coding mishaps getting YOLOed into prod. **YouTube Link** TBD

Jules and Jim, the Book!
Jules and Jim, the Book!
By popular demand, the group wanted to read and discuss the semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, that inspired the Truffaut movie we watched last year. The book is available through the Columbus Library's interlibrary loan system. They reported there are twenty-eight copies available in the state of Ohio. If you have a library card, you can file an interlibrary loan request here: https://www.columbuslibrary.org/library-services/ . There are also used copies available on Amazon and eBay for under twenty dollars. You may want to rewatch the movie after reading the book, so we can compare and contrast in our discussion. The Columbus Library has four copies on DVD, and it's streaming on HBOMax.
