Longing to belong
We are in the middle of a trilogy of topics that form a story. Our current series is around the theme of human flourishing. Last month we discussed beauty. This month we will look at how the role âhomeâ plays in our well-being. Then in June we will ask what roles do nature and nurture play in our lives?
**What about a sense of âbelongingâ?**
âAh, itâs good to be home,â we say after a time of travel or business. We move to a new city or country and feel a disorientation or rootlessness. We lack a familiarity sense of place and relationships. The modern world is not a village where you know your grocer by their first name. Some may call it âhome.â But what is home: A building? A geographical location? A feeling in the heart and soul? A place populated by people we love or are perhaps related to? How about those who live in a country other than their country of origin: what might they think about the whole matter of home?
You are welcome to come along to discuss "Longing to belong" on Tuesday, 12.May at Third Space Smithfield.
NOTE: we ask for a 3 Euro donation to cover costs. Payable on the night by coin or Revolut. Thanks

Guided Meditation Workshop for Kundalini Awakening
Learn to Meditate - Free 10 Week Course - Starts Jan 13th 2026 - All Welcome - Join any week -
Welcome to Sahaja Yoga Meditation, where experienced volunteers run all classes at no charge. We usually sit on chairs to achieve yoga effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and special clothing.
All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it â everyone! Our inner feminine, motherly energy automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, and organically and cannot be paid for.
The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is pretty effortless and spontaneous.
The free classes feature introductory talks, videos, practical workshops, and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga. Check our website for more free classes throughout Ireland.
The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga!
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, reduce stress, and increase wellness. It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it.
Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a worldwide movement for peace and self-awakening.
All the meetings and classes are free of charge. Each week we go through simple meditation techniques, often with guided meditations, to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation.
We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body.
The tradition and aims of meditation are explained. In essence, to be in the present without mental activities or thoughts about the past or the future. Itâs ultimately all about getting into âthoughtless awarenessâ, a natural state of being.

CBusData - Practical AI for Power BI Developers
Practical AI for Power BI Developers
A year ago, âagentic AIâ was mostly hype for Power BI teams. Today, it deserves your undivided attention. For Power BI pros, there is now a real opportunity to reduce repetitive development work, accelerate delivery, and help developers do more, but only when strong DataOps practices are in place to make AI workflows effective.
This session is a no-nonsense introduction to effective AI patterns for Power BI and Fabric development. Along the way, we will make sense of the growing pile of terminology, including skills, plugins, hooks, and MCP. You will see examples of how modern AI tooling can help with development tasks across Power BI and Fabric, along with the prerequisites, guardrails, and DataOps principles needed to use it responsibly.
Whether you're burned out on AI hype or already using Copilot CLI daily, this session will show you the foundations that are finally making AI-assisted development genuinely useful.
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Mapping and Dashboards
**Total Eclipse of the Chart: School Redistricting Dashboards**
In this presentation, we will explore the utilization of maps, sets, and SQL within a Tableau dashboard to help provide âwhat-ifâ analyses generated through the use of a mapped dashboard, providing different scenarios and the potential implications of these.
While in this use case we are focused on a large school district, the concepts of utilizing existing data to explore the future impacts of modifying different geographic boundaries can be useful to many industries, balancing the mix of maps with visual analytics.

Building Scalable Customer Identity Resolution Pipelines on AWS Using AI
Customer identity resolution becomes increasingly complex as organizations scale across multiple systems, regions, and data formats. Traditional rule-based approaches often fail to keep up with data variability, require constant manual tuning, and struggle with real-time processing needs.
This session presents a practical approach to building a scalable identity resolution pipeline using AWS services and modern AI techniques. The architecture combines data ingestion through Amazon S3 and AWS Glue, transformation pipelines using Spark on EMR, and machine learning models deployed via SageMaker for entity matching and standardization. Graph-based relationship modeling is implemented using Amazon Neptune to improve resolution accuracy by incorporating household and shared attribute context.
We will walk through how machine learning models can be used for name and address normalization, how intelligent blocking strategies improve matching efficiency, and how feedback loops can be introduced to continuously improve accuracy. The session also highlights how serverless components such as AWS Lambda can be used for orchestration and real-time processing.

LLM Showdown: ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini vs Local Models
Join us for a practical, beginner-friendly guide to choosing the right large language model. Weâll compare major models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Llama, talk about when to use hosted APIs versus local models, and break down the tradeoffs around cost, speed, quality, privacy, context windows, coding ability, and reliability.
Youâll leave with a clearer mental model for picking an LLM based on your actual use case instead of hype, benchmarks, or brand names. No deep AI background required.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
