IN PERSON! Apache Kafka® Consumers, Evolved - Exploring KIP-848 & KIP-932
IN PERSON! Apache Kafka® Consumers, Evolved - Exploring KIP-848 & KIP-932
Hello everyone! We're very excited to be hosting an **IN-PERSON** meetup in Jakarta. We look forward to seeing you there! The address, agenda, and speaker information can be found below. See you there! **📍 Venue:** WeWork Revenue Tower Scbd, Jl. Jend. Sudirman No.52-53, Senayan, Kebayoran Baru Jakarta, JK 12190 Room 25A **Important:** * To obtain an elevator pass, all visitors are required to exchange their ID/driver's license/passport in the building lobby's reception area. \*\*\* **🗓 Agenda:** * 7pm: Doors open * 7pm - 7:30pm: Pizza, Drinks, and Networking * 7:30pm - 8:00pm: Gandhi Manalu Senior Customer Success Technical Architect, Confluent * 8:00pm - 8:30pm: Additional Q&A & Networking \*\*\* **💡 Speaker:** Gandhi Manalu Senior Customer Success Technical Architect, Confluent **Talk:** Kafka Consumers, Evolved - Exploring KIP-848 & KIP-932 **Abstract:** Kafka's consumer model is evolving fast. This talk will revisit the fundamentals of partitions and consumer groups, then dives into KIP-848, the new rebalance protocol that makes rebalances more incremental, reduces stop-the-world disruption, and keeps unaffected consumers moving. From there, we will explore KIP-932 and share groups, showing how Kafka is gaining queue-like consumption patterns that can scale processing beyond the classic one-partition-per-consumer limit. If you build Kafka applications and want an accessible, forward-looking look at where consumers are headed next, this session connects the protocol changes to real-world scalability, elasticity, and new application design patterns. \*\*\* ***DISCLAIMER*** BY ATTENDING THIS EVENT IN PERSON, you acknowledge that risk includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including COVID-19, and accept responsibility for this, if it occurs. NOTE: We are unable to cater for any attendees under the age of 18. \*\*\* If you would like to speak or host our next event please let us know! community@[confluent.io](http://confluent.io/)

Claude Code with Unity
Claude Code with Unity
A session on using Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding agent, in real Unity development. We'll cover what coding agents are, where Claude Code fits, and how to apply it to an actual game project. The format is presentation-style, with live demos and time for questions throughout. After brief scene-setting on coding agents and what makes Claude Code distinct, we'll go problem-driven: demoing it live on a released Unity game and introducing each feature as a solution to a problem we hit. What to Expect: * An intro to coding agents and where Claude Code fits * A live demo on a real Unity project * Key features as solutions to real problems: 𝖢𝖫𝖠𝖴𝖣𝖤.𝗆𝖽, context management, hooks, skills, subagents, and MCP * Unity-specific pain points, including Domain Reload and MCP caveats * Putting it together All experience levels welcome. Food and drinks provided. *Note: meetup topics may change — check back for the latest details.*

Smart Search + AI: An Outcome-Driven Journey from IDP to a Suite of AI
Smart Search + AI: An Outcome-Driven Journey from IDP to a Suite of AI
Over a billion documents processed. Millions of Veterans impacted. Hundreds of thousands of employee hours saved. Faster decisions. Greater accuracy. More benefits in the hands of our disabled Veterans. We created Smart Search, the world’s largest consumer of Amazon Textract, right when GenAI began reshaping what’s possible. Since then, we’ve built a suite of AI‑driven solutions that transform this data into real, measurable outcomes—accelerating benefits decisions for our Nation’s Veterans. Join us for a focused conversation on how an outcome‑driven approach to AI is helping us boost accuracy, streamline workflows, and deliver faster results for those who have served. This is a follow up to the AWS re:Invent 2023 "Intelligent Document Processing with Gen AI for Public Sector" presentation. About Speaker: Cameron Williams is a Senior Technical Project Manager and cross-functional technical leader at Booz Allen Hamilton with 15+ years of experience architecting and evolving scalable, cloud-native systems, from greenfield development to complex enterprise modernization. https://www.linkedin.com/in/cameronw711/ **THANK YOU** *Franklin University* for hosting our meetup! Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options. **YouTube Link** TBD
