Ice Skating Hang Out - North Jersey
Join us for an hour or more of ice skating indoors at Montclair State Ice Arena, 1 Arena Dr., Little Falls Township.
[Public skating](https://msu.finnlyconnect.com/schedule/260) is offered from 4:50 p.m. until 6:20 p.m. on Rocky Rink.
No experience is needed. Many figure out how to ice skate on the first try, especially if you've roller skated before! There are ice support structures and of course the wall that you can use to hold yourself up.
There's also an area immediately outside the rink to put your valuables and chat when taking a break from the ice.
It's $20 for admission and $5 for skate rentals, or what's $25 total. All you have to do is show up. We'll meet inside at one of the tables and will be skating at Rocky Rink. Look for a growing group of people!
Just another FYI. It gets kinda chilly while on the ice, so if you get cold easily, I'd recommend bringing long pants and/or a coat.
If you don't have a car, there are some bus and train options to get you to Montclair State University throughout the day. Definitely inquire if you're interested in learning more!
Questions? Thoughts? Ideas? You can message me on Meetup, or call/text me at 201-234-9609. Feel free to drop a comment below too.

Two-and-a-Half Year Group Anniversary: Randall's Island (Beginners)
NYC Rollerbladers held our first event on Oct. 1, 2023 at Randall's Island. Those in attendance were Matt, Trudi, Phylicia, Gilbert, Daniela, Bimbola, Jyllian, Kim, Nayarett, and Carlos. Our group now has over 1000 members on Meetup and over 700 on Whatsapp. This event will mark our two-and-a-half year anniversary.
Meet on Randall's Island at bus stop "Main Roadway/Icahn Stadium."
How to get there: Take the 6 train to 125th St stop. Walk to M35 bus stop at Lexington Avenue and 125th St. (right by the subway). Take M35 bus to "Main Roadway/Icahn Stadium" stop (5 stops).
**Note: This is a beginner event but not an absolute beginner event. You should at least be able to stand on skates, move from one place to another, and brake (not T-stop necessarily, but at least plow stop). If you cannot do these things, please do not attend. If you do, you will be endangering not only yourself but also those around you. We will be going slow on inclines/in general.**
Rain date is the following day.
