J'ai découvert Practical Philosophy au Canada et j'ai tellement aimé que j'ai décidé de l'importer à Paris (il y a aussi une branche à Lyon si vous n'êtes pas de la région). **🏛️ C’EST QUOI, LA PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY ?** Practical philosophy, c’est un rendez-vous hebdomadaire où des esprits curieux se retrouvent pour creuser un sujet, affûter leur façon de s’exprimer et tisser des liens. Pas besoin d’être un pro de la philo pour participer, tout le monde est le bienvenu ! 😎 L’idée, c’est que la philosophie, ce n’est pas juste pour les profs d’université. Chaque semaine, on choisit un thème et on en discute pour aiguiser notre esprit critique et nos talents de communicants. C'est aussi une manière d'apprendre à mieux se connaître soi-même, en affirmant et argmumentant ce qu'on pense réellement. Bref, on bosse sur trois piliers : **Pensée Critique**, **Communication** et **Communauté** 🙌. **📓 COMMENT ÇA MARCHE ?** Chaque semaine, on se focalise sur un sujet qu’on décortique ensemble. Quand on est plus de 7 ou 8, on se divise en petits groupes pour garder une ambiance fluide et éviter que ça ressemble à une conférence. **Déroulé type d’une soirée** Voici comment se passe une rencontre : ***19h00-19h15 **: On arrive, on papote, on fait connaissance dans une ambiance détendue. ** *19h15-19h25 **: Petit topo pour présenter Practical philosophie le sujet du jour, les règles et le timing. *** 19h25-20h45 **: On se répartit en petits groupes, on se présente, on partage nos premières idées sur le sujet, puis on passe à une discussion libre. Des questions “d’amorce” sont là pour guider si besoin, mais rien d’obligatoire. ** *21h00-21h30 **: Tout le monde se regroupe pour faire le point. Chaque groupe partage un résumé rapide (1 minute) de ses conclusions. Hi Badminton Fans! Come and join us every Saturday for a fun session of badminton. **This session is open for lower intermediates and above (no complete beginners allowed).** What that means is that you should have a grasp of doubles gameplay and be comfortable with short serves at minimum. **What Do You Need** Don't worry about equipment; racquets and shuttlecocks are provided, and there's no need for a badminton license or insurance. Just bring your indoor sports shoes and a willingness to meet new friends and have lots of fun. There are changing rooms and showers. **Get There Early** Try to get there early to change and warm up so we can start right on time. **Registration & Payments** Registration is 12€ per person, and you can sign up via PayPal through this event page. **Dans l’imaginaire du son** : Explorations sonores insolites créatives pour scie musicale, violoncelle et voix. avec Birgit von Keller et Chim Nwabueze. Une exploration innovatrice de ces instruments entre bruissement, caresse, souffle, vague, tapotement, soupir, envol mélodieux et silence qui réveille nos mémoires et notre imagination : la musique devient poésie. Chaque concert est différent et révèle les possibilités infinies de la création. Ce voyage musical s'inscrit dans le cadre des **Journées des Arts** organisées par l'école de philosophie Nouvelle Acropole. Ces journées sont une invitation à changer de regard à travers l'art. Open Shelter has teamed up again with Red White and Boom! Friday, July 3rd & we are looking for volunteers to run the event’s alcohol booths. Proceeds from sales go to the Open Shelter’s organization. There are two available shifts: 12-6p & 5-11p. There will be an ipad-like device to process transactions in addition to cash. Everything will be in bottles or cans, so transactions should be very easy. Must be 21+. There are multiple beverage stations along the Civic Center Bridge. The stations are covered and also have beverage trucks next to them, so volunteers can cool off in the trucks. As far as parking, it is suggested those who are coming from the east use the Columbus Commons Garage, and those from the west use the Belle Street Garage. We usually don't have any agenda other than eat, drink and talk. :) If the weather is nice we will be on the back patio, otherwise we are in the cigar room. This group has been meeting every Tuesday evening for over a decade. Many attendees do not RSVP on meetup. Please don't let the small number here discourage you. Anyone/everyone is welcome to come.
