Raise the floor: lessons from high-performance teams
Medals, titles, and records look like success – but they do not make you a champion.
In this ESMT Insight Hour, **[Tina Manker](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tinamanker/)**, Olympian, world champion, and coach for high-performance teams, invites participants to rethink what performance and leadership really mean. True champions are not defined by what they win, but by how they behave, especially when no one is watching.
Drawing on her experience in elite sport and her work with leadership and startup teams, Manker will explore how high performance is built collectively, sustained over time, and tested under pressure.
* What does it actually mean to be a champion when no one is watching?
* Which conversations are teams most likely to avoid, and why?
* Do you really want feedback?
* Performing on your best day is easy. But how do you perform on your worst?
* What difficulties await you when you leave your comfort zone?
Participants will leave with new perspectives on behavior, pressure, and responsibility, as well as practical insights into how teams can “raise the floor” to perform – and achieve – consistently.
The session concludes with an experiential element that brings the realities of preparation, pressure, and performance vividly to life.
Moderated by **[Hilde Rosenboom](https://www.linkedin.com/in/hilde-rosenboom-9bb7a2140/)**, Program Director, Executive Programs, ESMT Berlin
**About the speaker**
**[Tina Manker](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tinamanker/)** is a coach, teacher, and Olympic rower. March Meetup: Audio in the Terminal and text prompts to music
On the 3rd March we will host the next iteration of our monthly Audio Developer Meetup. The long talk will be by Christian Grothe on building audio applications for the terminal in rust. The short talk will be by
Maksymilian Padalak on how to convert text prompts into plug-ins. See below!
As always, there will be a chance to network over drinks and pizza. Anyone interested in Audio development is welcome!
Doors open at 18:00, talks start at 18:15.
Please note: Attendance is **strictly limited** to people who have RSVP'd
Talk details:
**Building Audio Applications with a TUI in Rust** \- Christian Grothe
In this talk, we will explore the possibilities of building musical instruments with a terminal user interface using Rust and Ratatui. We will look at both the challenges and advantages of this approach, illustrated with practical examples and sound demonstrations.
**Christian Grothe** is a programmer and musician based in Potsdam. During his music studies, he became increasingly interested in creating improvised electronic music using his own tools. Starting with MAX/MSP, exploring the Axoloti board, experimenting with Arduino and Teensy, and eventually building an analog modular synthesizer from scratch, his technical abilities evolved through time and hands-on experience. Primarily focused on building tools for live sampling, Christian settled on a stack where he uses Rust to create custom sampler instruments running in the terminal, alongside SuperCollider patches—literally making music with tmux.
**pluginmaker.ai - How We Turn Text Prompts into Working VST/AU Plugins -** Maksymilian Padalak
pluginmaker.ai is the first ever browser-based, no-code generator for VST and AU audio plugins. Users describe an effect or instrument in plain language - "plate reverb with decay and damping controls" - and within minutes receive a plugin they can load in almost any DAW. In this talk they'll demo the full flow from prompt to plugin, walk through how the generation pipeline works at a high level, and share what they've learned building an AI system that writes real-time audio code.
Maksymilian Padalak is an ex-Nord Security (NordVPN) developer, guitarist, music producer, former professional standup comedian, and co-founder of pluginmaker.ai - an AI-powered platform that generates audio plugins from natural language descriptions. He co-founded the project with his best friend and ex high school bandmate Dominik Bilski, an ex-FedEx and ex-Pearson developer, bassist, and AI enthusiast. Both quit their jobs to build pluginmaker.ai full-time.

PBerg engineers - monthly meetup
**This is 100% non-profit. The 15€ sign up fee for everyone is only to minimize last-minute cancellations. The total sum goes to a bar-tap that everyone can use to order drinks until the amount is used up. ‼️NO REFUNDS‼️**
**‼️Please don't just show up without RSVPing here and paying the 15€. We have a separate room that has limited capacity and a specific drinks agreement with the bar - so splitting up the bill won't become a mess.‼️**
**Small update on how your money get's used from May 2024 onwards:** As of this month, meetup.com has started charging me 34€ instead of 16€ per month. I've decided to distribute this fee evenly among all us participants every month. Example: In the last 12 meetups, the average number of attendees was 17. With 17 attendees I would effectively collect 230€ (after fees). I would now substract 34€ leaving us with 196€ that go to the bar. 15% get's tipped to the wait staff, in this case 30€, leaving us with 166€ effectively to order drinks. Hope everyone is cool with this system. :)

Agentic SEO & Marketing
**How AI Agents Are Changing the Way We Work**
Join us on March 5th, for an exciting session, which will aim to help you develop your skills in the world of SEO, GEO, AI and Marketing.
The session will be held at the **Buzzmatic Office, Schönhauser Allee 149**, from **9:30 to 11:00**. Enjoy **free attendance,** some lovely **breakfast** and great conversation!
The returning champion of our breakfast events, our CEO Raoul Schreck, will give us the full rundown on how AI Agents are changing the way we work.
2026 is the year AI agents are going from buzzword to daily workflow. Claude Code, Claude Cowork, n8n and recently OpenClaw are the tools of the hour. But what does that actually mean for SEO and marketing teams? This session cuts through the hype and shows what's real: live demos and practical workflows using Claude Code, Claude Skills, Agents and the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You'll see how autonomous agents plan, decide, and execute multi-step marketing tasks – from content production to AI visibility audits to automated reporting. **No slides, just tools, workflows, and some stuff that will blow your mind.**
This session is ideal for SEOs, marketeers and anyone looking to expand their understanding of how AI is increasingly influencing these fields.
In the following months we will also be hosting external speakers Nicolas Caramella and Andrés Tapia for some deepdives on related topics. We will be posting more about these events soon, so stay tuned!

Quality Engineering meetup #11
**PLEASE NOTE THE ADDRESS CHANGE! We're now at [w3hub.berlin](https://w3hub.berlin)**
*[Qase](https://qase.io) is presenting the **eleventh** Meetup on Quality Engineering in Berlin.*
*This time, we’re bringing you three deep-dive talks — all designed to challenge the way you think about quality, testing, and collaboration.*
*As always, expect great conversations, snacks, and drinks. See you there!*
**AGENDA**
**1\. Mitesh Patel\, Technical Consultant \- Scientific Instruments @ Altum Solutions: *Food QA: Testing Tasting***
On this fine evening, we shall enjoy some food … and also learn why we enjoy it. Because tasting is really a form of testing for our brains — wetware QA in essence.
But how do we reformulate this wetware testing into those familiar realms of software and hardware testing? It is not as simple as exchanging taste buds for test suites and bites for bytes. Just ask Big Food which spends billions on this same question: How can computers do taste tests like humans?
Guided by the example of an ML/AI-powered scientific instrument for chemical analyses, namely, a spectrometer, this session addresses this question and explores the broader topic of QA in the food industry. Discover how food companies scale testing across scientific software, device hardware, and food/human wetware. So grab a spoon for this insider scoop on QA for food.
**2\. Vitaly Sharovatov\, developer advocate @ Qase: *QA Myths Busting: A Practical Guide to Higher Quality***
Have you ever felt the urge to increase the amount of testing or hire more testers, thinking it would improve product quality? As a tester, have you ever been held “accountable” for quality or pressed for time, leaving you feeling helpless? Or perhaps you’ve been asked to justify quality assurance initiatives with numbers?
Our industry is filled with myths: from “quality can be measured” to “more testing means higher quality” and from “QA slows down work” to “testers are responsible for quality”. In this talk, I will present the myths I once believed, explain the dangers they pose to both teams and products, and demonstrate how they should be debunked and overcome.
**3\. Asya Isakova\, Co\-Founder @ TECH_Connect: 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵\, 𝘒𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘑𝘰𝘣**
The job market is wild: it’s hard to get hired, and sometimes even harder to stay hired. In a new role (or a new team), one of the fastest ways to reduce uncertainty and accelerate collaboration is to build trust quickly.
But how do colleagues and managers decide you’re trustworthy? It’s rarely just about closing Jira tickets or moving cards on a Kanban board. People assess trust through patterns of behavior: what you do, how consistently you do it, and how do you act towards others.
In this talk, you’ll learn an evidence-based approach to building trust at work using three practical components: integrity, reliability, and benevolence. We’ll unpack what shapes people’s trust judgments (including context, risk, and prior experiences) and translate research into concrete behaviors you can apply immediately: especially in multicultural and cross-functional teams.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Google Analytics Alternatives
**Google Analytics Alternatives**
Is it finally time to make the switch away from Google Analytics? Two-and-a-half years ago Jason Packer asked this question at Columbus Web Analytics Wednesday.
Since then: Google’s Universal Analytics has been sunset, we’ve changed our name to Columbus Data & Analytics Wednesday, and Jason has released two editions of his book “Google Analytics Alternatives”.
Fresh off the release of the 2nd edition of his book, we thought it was time to re-open this conversation. While people love to complain about it, GA’s market share has remained relatively constant (at least in the United States). Why is that? You won’t find any complaints about GA4 in this talk, but rather an overview of what’s currently available in the market and how to frame your decision-making process.
We’ll also be giving out some free copies of Jason’s book! So even if you’ve got a “GA4Lyfe” tattoo (no judgement), there’s free books to go with the free pizza and beer.
