Intervals Workout Session đđ»ââïžđđŒââïžđđ» Bois de la Cambre
We do cycles of 4-6 weeks, with a progressive intensity, and the last session is lighter.
Program:
15â warm up
**To be defined**
Cool down to get back to the starting point⊠or more
S=All out sprint
RF = Run fast, at MAS (Maximum aerobic speed)
CF = Run comfortably fast (1h threshold)
J = Jog, recuperation
Notes:
It should take about one hour in total, as the cool down will end when we reach back to the meeting point.
It's NOT required to have an activity tracker or smart watch to be able to follow the program, as I'll be giving signals with a whistle.
For the "run" part, you can follow your own pace and we'll be regrouping in the "jog" part.
Intervals training is not advised for total beginners. To have an idea, the average pace at the warm up is around 5'45"/km-6'/km so this pace should feel very comfortable

Meet and make new friends in Brussels
Making new friends in a new city doesnât need to be a struggle at all.
đ Twilight Walk in Parc de Woluwe (đźRed Torch/Headlamp Requiredđź)
_IMPORTANT: To RSVP you will also need to register as a member [here.](https://forms.gle/PsmYJ3vQKocXQCAY6)_
**đź Please bring a red-light headlamp or torch (Decathlon has them).**
Red mode is required to minimize light pollution, respect wildlife, and keep the peaceful night-walk atmosphere.
As winter approaches and daylight fades earlier, weâll take advantage of the calm, blue-hour mood for a gentle **late-afternoon walk through Parc de Woluwe** - one of Brusselsâ most elegant urban parks.
Weâll follow an easy loop along the lakes and the Woluwe River, enjoying that unique winter serenity: silhouettes of trees against the sky, reflections on the water, and the quiet shift from day to night.
After the walk, weâll warm up together with a drink at **Brasserie des Ătangs Mellaerts**, our meeting and parking point.
### **đŻïž A bit of history, softly told at dusk**
Created during the **Belle Ăpoque** (1896â1898) as part of King Leopold IIâs urban vision, the park was designed as a landscaped corridor linking Brussels to Tervuren. The gentle river, the chain of lakes, and the elegant avenues still echo that eraâs idea of blending beauty, nature, and modern city life.
### **đ Plan**
* Meet at **Brasserie des Ătangs Mellaerts**, Bd du Souverain 275, 1150 Woluwe-Saint-Pierre
* **Parking** available on site
* Easy access via **Tram 39/44** from Montgomery or **Tram 8** from Roodebeek - get off at *Musée du Tram*
* We start and end the walk at the ClubHouse, followed by warm drinks together â
### **đż Expect**
đ Winter foliage, calm lakes, and soft evening light
đŠ Ducks, herons, maybe even a fox if weâre lucky
âš A cozy, slightly scout-like night walk with red headlamps
đ Gentle pace - dogs welcome
### **đ¶ Symbolic Contribution**
This recurring walk is **free**.
If youâd like to support the Sunday Vacations community, you may make an optional **âŹ5 symbolic contribution** to our non-profit ASBL.

New Year Fast Friending: Make new friends! (21-45/Bring a Lady FREE)
Let's make new friends this New Year! Join us for our Fast-Friending Evening â the easiest, most enjoyable way to meet like-minded ladies and gents without the pressure, awkwardness, or small talk that leads nowhere!
**You will need to buy a ticket for attending -**
[https://brussels17thjan.eventbrite.co.uk](https://brussels17thjan.eventbrite.co.uk)
\*You can use any debit or credit card to purchase your ticket at PayPal checkout. It will ask you for your email address but that is only to send you a receipt. You do not need a PayPal account.
TICKETS:-
Early Bird - âŹ5 per person
Regular Ticket - âŹ10 per person
Cash at Meetup - If you do not purchase tickets in advance then you can pay âŹ15 cash to your host Tanya when you meet her at the event.
In one lively evening, youâll meet lots of like-minded ladies & gents through quick, meaningful chats designed to spark laughter, warmth, and new friendships.
\- We will meet at 7\.00 pm when you will be welcomed by your host Tanya\. She will manage the evening and also help you make connections\.
If you are a bit shy or anxious then please come early. Tanya will help you meet other members in a small group and help you settle down and get comfortable. All attendees are also welcome to bring a lady friend along with them for free. This will make it a lot less stressful for you as you will always have your friend alongside.
\- From 7\.30 to 8\.30 pm\, we will start 'Fast Friending' where our host will ask you to speak to a different attendee every 3 minutes\. You will be able to meet lots of ladies and gentlemen and not be limited to only those sitting or standing next you\.
\- After 8\.30 pm you will have time to interact with those you have met as well as others\.
\- We are not a close knit tight group\. Our evenings are warm and comfortable for members attending for the first time and those coming alone\. You will not feel alone\!
\- We have many groups in this city\. Members of our other groups who RSVP are included as guests of the organisers in order to give you an indication of expected people\.
\- This evening is for ladies and gents in the 21 to 45 age group\. While some will be at the younger end of this range there will also be others at the other end of the range and lots in\-between\! You will naturally gel with others of your own age range and so you will always find many attendees who fit your range\.
\- We are not a 'dating' group\. We are focused on helping ladies and gents meet other like minded ladies and gents\. You will generally find a good gender balance \(maybe not perfect\) at all our events\.
Why do we have tickets?
1. Cover our costs - Our host is compensated for their time and work. We also pay meetup and have dedicated staff to manage our events, hosts, venues and communication.
2. Group Safety - By securing your ticket we have a record and you contribute to a well organized evening where everyone is more committed and better behaved.
3. Management - Tickets help us better manage attendee group size, book suitable space and activity.

Tennis doubles (NOT FOR BEGINNERS) - White Star Evere
Hello! This is a meet-up to play tennis from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday. Meeting is on the courts. The courts are booked under the name Jean-Marc. This event is for intermediate and advanced players and not organised for novice players or beginners.
Please make sure to bring the exact sum of 10 ⏠in cash.
The event is non-commercial. This sum covers the cost of the courts reserved. The organizer is not there to make money out of you. Ladies are encouraged to join.
If anyone wants to drop out, they should do it on Saturday morning, not on Sunday the day of the meetup, another wise it would be too late to find a replacement in time or to cancel a court in time with reimbursement. If you don't do this, you will be asked by the organizer to reimburse your participation fee. If this happens too late then those who have cancelled after Saturday morning will have to cover the extra cost for reserving the courts. In the past meetups, it happened too many times that we were an oneven number and because of that all those present had less fun to play. If you don't show up without giving a written excuse in time, the first future participation will be cancelled and you will be asked to reimburse the participation fee. If it happens too many times you will not be able to participate anymore.
In case if we are an uneven number of players, then the last player (except the host of course who has to collect the money) can leave or persuade other players to play with him or her. Of course if the last player leaves, then he or she doesn't have to pay the participation fee. If this player leaves, he or she will be added on a future event by the host or organizer in the participation list if the player is far away in the waiting list. This is the advantage of leaving on a voluntary basis;-).
We operate on the principle of Fair Play as we do not have umpires or referees. Any disputes or disagreements over line calls or scores should be resolved immediately on the court and, when agreement is not possible, the point or game should be replayed. To be able to replay the game, 3 players need to agree on that without manipulation of the one who disputes an entire game, anotherwise injustice could occur where in the end possibly the biggest cheater could win... This situation applies also, if the host or the organizer is involved.
When one of the players still doesn't accept this compromise, then it should be reported (meetup message by preference) to the organizer or host of the meetup event.
One of the consequences could be that the first upcoming event could be cancelled by the organizer for the player who doesn't comply with the compromise to play the point or the game again. If the same player does that again for a second time, then the person will see 4 of his next tennis meetups cancelled. If this happens a third time with the same player, then the player in question will be banned from all future tennis meetups with an exclusion as a final result.
Whenever there is a big problem, it should be reported as well to the organizer of the group so he can, if necessary, take actions to improve the situation for all the players.
Please also note that if you are the first on the waiting list, you will automatically be moved up to the attendance list if someone pulls out. So if you are on the waiting list and see that you cannot attend, please also change your status to not going.
If you would like to organize a meet up either this week or next week please get in touch with me, my name is Jean-Marc. It will depend on your initiatives to create more tennis meetups per week.
Write Together!
Spend time in the company of other writers putting pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard. Work on your current project or start something new. If you are fresh out of inspiration a member of the Wordcraft Collective will be ready with a prompt to get you going. You can use that to unlock your creative brain before moving back to your own project or run with it. Who knows where the story will take you?
Arrive when you like, leave when you like, or join us for a drink in the bar downstairs afterwards.
Location: Pianofabriek, Rue du Fort 35, 1060 Saint-Gilles.

In this session, Mark will demonstrate how Terraform and Azure can be used to provision, configure, and manage Minecraft serversâwhile teaching the same patterns youâd use for production cloud infrastructure.
### What weâll cover
* Infrastructure-as-Code fundamentals using **Terraform**
* Provisioning real infrastructure on **Azure**
* Applying **IaC best practices** (immutability, repeatability, versioning)
* How playful environments like Minecraft make complex concepts *click*
* Why learning through experimentation beats click-ops every time
### Who should attend
* Developers, platform engineers, and cloud engineers
* Terraform users (new or experienced)
* Anyone curious about Infrastructure-as-Code but tired of boring examples
* Minecraft fans who want to see it used in a totally unexpected way
No prior Minecraft experience requiredâjust curiosity and a willingness to learn infrastructure the fun way.
Come for the blocks, stay for the Terraform. đ§±âĄïžđ

**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is rapidly changing how developers write, understand, and maintain code. Powered by generative AI and deeply integrated into modern development environments, Copilot acts as an intelligent coding assistant, helping developers move faster while maintaining quality and focus.
In this session, weâll explore what GitHub Copilot is, how it works, and where it fits into a real-world developer workflow. Weâll break down what Copilot can (and cannot) do, where it can be used, and how licensing differs for individuals and organizations. Most importantly, this talk goes beyond theory with a live, hands-on demo showcasing Copilot inside the IDE and on GitHub, demonstrating how it can assist with code generation, refactoring, learning new APIs, and accelerating day-to-day development tasks.
Designed for developers, technical leads, and engineering managers, this session provides a practical introduction to AI-assisted development, highlights best practices for getting value from Copilot, and closes with guidance on how to continue learning and evolving alongside this rapidly advancing tool.
Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how GitHub Copilot can enhance productivity, improve developer experience, and fit into modern software teams today, not someday.

The Next Chapter: Looking Back, Leaning Forward, A WIA Vision Circle
As we step into a new year, many of us are carrying lessons, practices, and questions shaped by the year behind us.
The Next Chapter: Looking Back, Leaning Forward is a warm, facilitated vision circle designed to help us pause together, reflect on what truly worked, and imagine what we want to carry forward into what comes next.
This is not a talk or presentation.
Itâs a small, participatory gathering focused on shared reflection, sense-making, and connection.
**Together, weâll explore:**
* What supported you over the past year â in your work, leadership, or life
* What youâre ready to leave behind
* What you want next Januaryâs version of yourself to be saying
To support reflection in different ways, weâll also have optional art materials available for anyone who would like to create a simple artifact for their year â a visual or tactile reminder of what theyâre carrying forward.
Weâll provide basic art supplies such as colored pencils, markers, paint pens, and small canvases. If you enjoy working with collage or other media, youâre warmly invited to bring magazines, stickers, or your favorite creative materials to use or share. Participation in the creative portion is completely optional.
You donât need a plan, goals, or polished answers. Curiosity, honesty, and listening are more than enough.
The intention is for everyone to leave feeling grounded, refreshed, and inspired â with a clearer sense of what matters to them and how we can support one another as a community.
Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate.
