Hi all! Join us for an exciting meetup as we explore Southbank, taking in its beautiful people, architecture, and books. We'll start with a cup of coffee at the Southbank Centre at 10:30 AM at the Caffe inside the royal festival hall. Our endpoint will be a pub near Tate Modern, around 12:30/13:00. Along the way, we’ll stop at interesting spots such as the Southbank Book Market and the National Theatre to spend a bit more time before continuing our journey. **Meeting Point:** Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, Level 2 café area , facing the river. 3. Once we go in we may separate, feel free to explore the exhibit by yourself, we don't have to be together. Some people like chatting to others while exploring and other people prefer to be with their own thoughts. You are welcome to express yourself and do whatever helps you feel free.

Join us on an amazing day to photograph **the world's most iconic prehistoric monument, Stonehenge**, at golden hour & sunset! We'll spend several hours on site, making the most of what nature has to offer as the light changes. We'll be shooting from the north and east aspects of Stonehenge, which is the most attractive side and also perfect in winter as the sun sets in a south-westerly direction, thus giving us our best chances of colour in the sky! **Please note:** **Entry into Stonehenge itself isn't included** (as not all participants wish to go in for closer shots). For those wishing to, the entry price is currently around £25, and you can book online through English Heritage (our ETA at Stonehenge is 1:30 PM). Message me if you require more details. Situated on the Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, the early henge was built around 5,000 years ago & the unique stone circle was erected in the late Neolithic period, \~ 2,500 BC, with final modifications estimated to have been made around 1,500 BC. Stonehenge consists of an outer circle of 30 standing stones called "sarsens", which surround five huge stone arches in a horseshoe shape. There were also two circles made of smaller "bluestones" – one inside the outer circle & one inside the horseshoe – as well as four "station stones" positioned outside the central monument. Don't have a telephoto lens & want to take some close-up pics like the sample shots? We've got you covered, as we'll have multiple camera setups and lenses available to borrow if requested (please let me know when booking). Just make sure you bring a spare blank SD card. **Recommended equipment:** * Walk around/kit lens (eg 18-55mm, 24-70mm, 18-105mm) * Zoom lens – Recommended for close-ups on stones (eg 70-200mm, 70-300mm) * Note – The focal length (full frame equivalent) sample images were taken between 35mm (long exposure shot), 70mm (all of Stonehenge), and 200mm (close-up of the stones). * For those paying the extra for entry, a wide-angle lens is highly recommended. ie 16-35mm, 18-55mm, etc. * Tripod – Recommended. * Shutter trigger (wired (preferred), wireless/phone) – recommended for long exposures above 30 seconds for most cameras. * ND Filters – optional (for any long exposures) **Included:** * Travel to and from central London (from Starbucks, Unit 1A Euston Tower, NW1 3DP), in our comfortable 8-seat vehicle * Photographic tuition * Camera and lens setups to borrow if required (bring a spare, blank SD card) * Battery charging facilities if required (bring your USB or wall plug charger) **Not included:** Food and drink (tearoom & facilities available at Stonehenge on arrival) Entrance within Stonehenge (we'll be photographing from the boundary at sunset as public access within the grounds closes) **Important Note:** Please dress for the weather (*and then bring extra!*). **History** The Columbus Museum of Art traces its roots to 1878, when it was founded as the Columbus Gallery of Fine Arts, becoming the first art museum chartered in Ohio. A group of civic leaders established it to bring touring exhibitions and build a public collection. In 1887, it merged with the Columbus Art School (now CCAD) fostering a long partnership in arts education. Initially without a permanent home, the museum operated from temporary spaces until 1919, when art patron Francis C. Sessions deeded his Victorian mansion on East Broad Street to house the growing institution. As collections expanded in the early 20th century, the need for a dedicated building became clear. The Sessions mansion was demolished, and a new Italian Renaissance Revival structure was erected on the same site, opening to the public in 1931. This elegant building, with its grand steps and arches, remains the museum's core today and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Key early acquisitions, like the Ferdinand Howald Collection of modernist works, helped establish its focus on American and European art. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the museum evolved significantly. It added the Ross Wing in 1974 for exhibitions and renamed itself the Columbus Museum of Art in 1978 during its centennial. Columbus's art museum is not large, and we won't need to rush through in order to see everything. However, it's a little windy (with a long "i") and maze-like in spots, and if you've never gone through it before, it can be a little confusing at first. **Tickets and Pricing** The Museum is free on Sundays. **Parking** The short answer here is that you can park for free (in the Safe Auto lot) when you visit the Museum on weekends. This parking has normally been $7, unless you buy something either in the Museum's gift shop or café, in which case it's $5 (you have to bring your receipt to the Museum's front desk to get this discount). However, the Museum is currently in the process of upgrading their parking lot's intercom (or some such), and until such time as this is completed, parking in this lot is free. Once this upgrade is complete, though, the charge is likely to increase from $7 to $10. This upgrade is supposed to be done by the time we run this event, but given how these things work, I wouldn't be totally surprised if it's not complete by then. You'll know the lot is free if the gate arms to both the entrance and exit are fixed in a raised position when you arrive. However, there's a large parking lot for Safe Auto on the other side of N Washington Ave, between Boone St and Hutton Pl. Gemüt Biergarten has a free parking lot that isn't small but also isn't huge. The bigger issue may be the weather. The brewery has a good-sized outdoor patio that is covered and heated in the winter. However, that doesn't mean this patio will be warm. The inside of the brewery is "okay-sized," but again, the brewery is popular and by the time we get there, we may have no choice but to sit outside. If it's cold, I can and will ask them to fire up some of their additional outdoor heaters, which I think should be enough, but please bring something to keep you warm just in case we end up outside. Finally, while food at the Biergarten can be a little overpriced, in my experience it is excellent, and you are likely to enjoy whatever you get. We should be there by 1:00 if you can't make the Museum and just want to meet us for drinks.

This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about. The Next Chapter: Looking Back, Leaning Forward is a warm, facilitated vision circle designed to help us pause together, reflect on what truly worked, and imagine what we want to carry forward into what comes next. This is not a talk or presentation. It’s a small, participatory gathering focused on shared reflection, sense-making, and connection. **Together, we’ll explore:** * What supported you over the past year — in your work, leadership, or life * What you’re ready to leave behind * What you want next January’s version of yourself to be saying To support reflection in different ways, we’ll also have optional art materials available for anyone who would like to create a simple artifact for their year — a visual or tactile reminder of what they’re carrying forward. We’ll provide basic art supplies such as colored pencils, markers, paint pens, and small canvases. If you enjoy working with collage or other media, you’re warmly invited to bring magazines, stickers, or your favorite creative materials to use or share. Participation in the creative portion is completely optional. You don’t need a plan, goals, or polished answers. Curiosity, honesty, and listening are more than enough.
