Chai & Career
Chai & Career
✨ Chai & Careers A Career Connect Evening by The Panipuri Tribe ☕💛 📅 Thursday, 11th June 🕕 From 6:00 PM onwards 📍 Ecosia Coworking, Gerichtstraße 23 Some evenings are meant to feel reassuring. Like finally sitting in a room where nobody has to explain the struggle. The Panipuri Tribe invites you to Chai & Careers — **for women** in Berlin navigating careers, ambition, identity, uncertainty, and building a life away from home. This is not a stiff networking event. It’s an evening of honest conversations, shared experiences, practical guidance, meaningful connections, and chai-filled comfort with women who truly get it. Because building or growing a career in Berlin can feel overwhelming sometimes. * The rejections or promotions delay. * The “you’re great but do you speak German?” loop. * Starting over after a career break. * Imposter syndrome. * Wondering if everyone else has it figured out except you. We know that feeling. 💛 And we wanted to create the kind of space we wish we had. ✨ What the Evening Looks Like 💛 Arrival & introductions from The Panipuri Tribe and Ecosia Coworking 🎤 A candid panel conversation with women from different professional journeys in Berlin * Honest insights from someone working in HR and recruitment * Real stories from women who started from internships and built successful careers here * Guidance from a career coach on navigating confidence, clarity, career pivots, and growth * Open audience Q&A — ask the questions you’re usually too afraid to ask anywhere else ⚡ Speed mentoring & networking conversations 🫶 A warm community of women supporting women 🍽 Our Official Snack Partner for the event is Spice Village 🎉 Celebrating 8 years in Berlin, they're serving Chai, Dabeli and Khaman Dhokla for all attendees. 💛 Who Is This For? Women in Berlin who: • Are job hunting and feeling stuck or overwhelmed at the current job • Are new to Germany and figuring things out • Are students trying to navigate internships and first jobs • Are thinking about freelancing or building something of their own • Want honest career conversations without judgment • Crave meaningful female friendships and community • Want to support, mentor, and uplift other women Whether Berlin is brand new to you or has been home for years — you belong here. 🎟 Contribution €12 — Regular Ticket €8 — Early bird Ticket (for all till 2nd June) €8 — Student Ticket (33% community discount) 🎓 Because we know student life in Berlin can already feel expensive enough 💛 Pay via Revolut: revolut.me/mahakj6os Please add your name (and “student” if applicable) in the note so we can confirm your spot ✨ Limited spots available to keep the gathering intimate and meaningful.

**Book Club** With ***Marco Astolfi*** For **LGBTQIA+** **[Free with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/book-club/w23-2026)** **“The Loves of My Life” by Edmund White (2025)** In this late-life memoir, Edmund White looks back on decades of desire, intimacy and queer experience. Moving from the closeted 1950s to the age of apps, he recounts encounters, relationships and fleeting connections that shaped both his life and his writing. The result is a candid, witty and deeply personal portrait of love in its many forms. This final memoir by Edmund White, one of the most influential voices in queer literature, traces more than sixty years of gay life through the lens of desire. From furtive encounters in mid-century America to the sexual liberation of the post-Stonewall years and the shadow of the AIDS crisis, White’s recollections map an entire cultural history alongside his own biography. Structured less as a linear narrative than as a constellation of lovers, episodes and reflections, the book blends erotic confession with literary meditation. White writes about transactional sex, longings, power dynamics and emotional attachments with his signature mix of irony, tenderness and intellectual curiosity. What emerges is not only a chronicle of excess and experimentation, but also a sustained inquiry into the meaning of love—whether fleeting, one-sided or transformative. At once provocative and reflective, “The Loves of My Life” becomes a celebration of queer existence across generations, shaped by memory, loss, humour and an enduring devotion to beauty and language.

Finding Community: Pathways Out of Loneliness ##### May 14 2026 - July 23 2026 with ***Marco Obermüller*** **6 x Thursday** on 14./05 – 28./05 – 11./06 – 25./06 – 09./07 and 23./07. free event with[ ](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien2/w20-2026/)**[Registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien2/w20-2026/)** English for **LGBTQIA**+ In our group work, spaces emerge in which belonging and exchange can be experienced directly. Personal topics are explored together and experiences are shared, making new ways out of isolation tangible. Facilitated exercises, shifts of perspective, and shared reflection foster connectedness, strengthen social effectiveness, and create strategies for sustainable relationships that extend beyond individual sessions. Loneliness can arise when people have few opportunities to experience genuine connection with others. This is where the group comes in, creating spaces in which a sense of belonging can be actively experienced. By working together on personal topics, a social space of resonance emerges that replaces isolation with relationship and contact. Through the structured sharing of experiences, loneliness becomes visible, discussable, and therefore open to change. Through facilitated interaction, shifts in perspective, small experiments in experiencing contact, and shared reflection, participants develop new forms of connectedness and strategies for social effectiveness. The group functions not only as a source of support, but also as a learning environment for shaping relationships. In this way, resilient connections are formed that extend beyond the individual meeting and help to sustainably reduce loneliness. **Belonging versus loneliness: everybody can feel lonely sometimes** As human beings we have a natural longing for social connection and support by others. Due to individual and structural discrimination queer people have an ever higher risk to suffer from chronic loneliness. In cooperation with the **Landesstelle für Gleichbehandlung** – (Berlin State Office for the Equality of Treatment – against Discrimination) **we are village \| queer matters** has set itself the goal to offer some programming on the issue of loneliness in the queer community. ![](https://wearevillage.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/image001.jpg)We have also created a **[survey](https://forms.gle/BZkLsma3sRX2vdRb8)** to find out more about your experiences of loneliness. With your help, we can create a better program that meets your needs and with which we can create more togetherness! **This group consists of a maximum of 15 participants with registration.** **Language**: This series will be held in English. This series is open to everyone. Your English should be fluent enough to follow an event in English. **Cost**: free event with registration **Important**: you must commit to all 6 sessions. **Dates**: 14./05 – 28./05 – 11./06 – 25./06 – 09./07 and 23./07.

[Tickets](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/911-birds-and-the-bees-tickets-1991470175905?) A dark Stand-up comedy hour in English about surviving the world's most infamous terrorist attack Edinburgh Fringe critically acclaimed solo hour comes to Berlin! Where were you on 9/11? Sitting in school? Sitting on the toilet? Nowhere of note? Well, Sofia May, the other hand, was running—for her life— from the dust cloud and debris as the World Trade Center toppled next to her school in downtown Manhattan and now, as an adult, she's processed a lot of that trauma, continues to grieve, and is ready to get hilarious. In this stand-up comedy solo hour, Sofia May takes the audience on a gruesome comedic journey of her experience as a tween survivor of the history's most outrageous terrorist attack. [Tickets](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/911-birds-and-the-bees-tickets-1991470175905?) "It’s the kind of story that, on paper, shouldn’t be funny and yet in Sofia’s hands, it absolutely is. Her delivery is fearless, and the material so far beyond the usual stand-up fare that it makes every “dating trauma” or “annoying in-law” anecdote feel laughably trivial." — The Nerd Party "Sofia was a student at the school closest to the towers when they fell on 9/11 and has been in therapy ever since. But this isn’t one of those Edinburgh Fringe sob story shows; it’s an hour of engaging and wickedly dark humour that Sofia navigates with a Cheshire Cat-like grin" — European Comedy Review [Tickets](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/911-birds-and-the-bees-tickets-1991470175905?) ________________________________________________________________ Venue: Mein Freund Harvey ([Kulmer Str. 20A, 10783 Berlin-Bezirk Tempelhof-Schöneberg](https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x47a850383fdfdb39:0x703d3d78e7eccba3?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111 "https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x47a850383fdfdb39:0x703d3d78e7eccba3?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111")) Doors: 20:30 Showtime: 21:00 - 22:00 ________________________________________________________________ TICKETS: Online: 9 EUR Door: 12 EUR (Cash or card accepted) [Tickets](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/911-birds-and-the-bees-tickets-1991470175905?) This isn't a golf tournament—it's a social gathering designed to bring great people together for conversation, connection, laughter, food, drinks, and a little friendly competition. Whether you're a father, celebrating a father, bringing your brother, cousin, friend, or simply looking for a fun Saturday evening, you're welcome to join us. No golf experience is necessary. Come for the happy hour, stay for the company. Expect: • Topgolf games for all skill levels • Food and drinks available for purchase • Networking and socializing • Great music and positive vibes • A welcoming atmosphere for singles, couples, and friends Bring someone special or come solo and meet new people. Let's raise a glass to the men who lead, support, inspire, and show up for the people they love.
