Transactional vs Relational Knowledge - Andrew Herd
Transactional vs Relational Knowledge - Andrew Herd
Andrew Herd is facilitator of the KM Landscape, a volunteer effort to capture the broad vocabulary of KM and related terms and reduce the confusion around shared concepts around the world in our discipline. As part of this work, some amazing and diverse thinking has been shared and out of that Andrew started to realise that a lot of knowledge concepts can be boiled down to two distinct areas: transactional and relational. He started with the DIKW pyramid with Data and Information being transactional and Knowledge and Wisdom being Relational but he has take the concept far beyond there and this month we are kicking off the year getting our heads around why automating the transaction world with AI might leave some pretty big gaps to fill and what we are KM professionals can do about it. This event is hybrid with Andrew joining online from Belgium. Thanks again to MinterEllison, who host the amazing space we meet in each month. **Session Details:** * **Date & Time:** 6:00pm AEDST, Fourth Wednesday of each month * **Format:** Virtual session on Teams * **Agenda:** * 6-6:30 pm networking * 6:30-7:45pm exploration of the topic * 7:45-8pm wrap up * 8pm dinner for those interested. KMLF has run monthly, almost uninterrupted since 1998, serving the Victorian Knowledge Management community with close ties to Change Mgt, Records Mgt, Information Governance and Academic communities.
Raja Yoga - Online Course
Raja Yoga - Online Course
This course, facilitated by Wendy Dixon, explores the concepts and exercises in Wallace Slater’s book *A Simplified Course of Raja Yoga*, which follows the Yoga Sutras or Aphorisms of Patanjali. We meet online every Wednesday night and follow the 10-lesson structure created by Slater, allowing a month for each lesson. We will thoroughly explore each step, with time for discussion and practice. Each session contains material on one or more of the eight limbs of yoga, so named by Patanjali - self-restraint (yama), self-discipline (niyama), posture (āsana), control of breath (prānayāma), control of the sense (pratyāhāra), concentration (dhāranā), meditation (dhyāna) and contemplation (samādhi). Additional material is sourced from I. K. Taimni, Swami Vivekananda, H. P. Blavatsky and contemporary Raja Yoga books. We begin and close each session with sitting meditations. **This is an ongoing course that you can join at any time.** **COURSE LINK** Please click on this link to join: [https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86376822389](https://us06web.zoom.us/j/86376822389) Meeting ID: 863 7682 2389 Passcode: 251130 **Admission by Donation:** A suggested donation of $5 or more per session assists Blavatsky Lodge to continue to offer online Theosophical courses. Ignorance of the Laws can leave us adrift to be buffeted and feel overwhelmed by stormy seas. Each week will look at one of the twelve Laws which are principles, not rules, seeking a deeper understanding of that Law, our and their inter-relationship with the other Laws. Discussion will involve sharing stories from our lives which contribute to a growing understanding and confidence in our lives. Each session is free, but donations are welcome.

It’s $20 per person, which includes free shoe rental and two hours of open bowling. We’ll start with six people per lane. Once we have six, we’ll grab our lane and get rolling. WordPress Knoxville. Beyond the Prompt: Autonomous AI Agents in WordPress
WordPress Knoxville. Beyond the Prompt: Autonomous AI Agents in WordPress
Happy Holidays! The first Wednesday of January is 7th, and this is Orthodox Christmas. And i will be wishing everyone Merry Christmas in January, and i am sure many of you will be tired from all this socializing. That is why we are going to meet on February 4th. And we will continue discussing the Hot topic of our age an AI. We’ve spent the last few sessions learning how to *talk* to AI. We’ve mastered prompt engineering and "vibecoding" to build things faster. Now, it’s time for the next leap: **letting AI work for us while we sleep.** In this session, we are moving beyond simple chatbots to explore **Autonomous AI Agents.** Unlike standard tools that wait for you to type a command, Agents are designed to perceive a goal, plan a series of tasks, and execute them independently within your WordPress site. We will discuss **Generative vs. Agentic AI:** Understanding the shift from *"Write me a blog post"* to *"Monitor local Knoxville news and draft a weekly summary every Friday."* I am sure many of you have seen WordPress ads offering different Agentic tools like **Uncanny Automator**, **AI Engine**, or **n8n**. What do these tools do? How successful they are? And how implementable all these agents are for your current WordPress site? I will gather some info and make research. But please join us and bring your stories and experience on topic. See you!
Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association: They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other church–state issues in public schools. The presentation will cover SEA’s early wins and hard lessons, what we’re seeing nationally right now, and how local advocates can play a meaningful role in protecting public education. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the landscape — and practical ways to get involved. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid.
