We are meeting at the Multifaith Centre every Friday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm in the Third Floor Quiet room, for periods of 8-fold moving exercise, sitting meditation, and walking meditation in the tradition of Chan Buddhism. In a moment in which anti-migrant rhetoric, ethnonationalism, and authoritarian populisms are on the rise, it becomes increasingly important that political theorists do more than offer a moral indictment of racism and xenophobia. In this talk, I contend that Frantz Fanon’s sociogenic approach to the critique of ‘race’ and racialization makes a valuable contribution, even in postcolonial conjunctures that have moved beyond colonialism’s crude Manichean binaries. I read Fanon as a diagnostician of the social pathologies produced by colonialism and white supremacy, showing how he worked from the colonized subject’s experiences of inferiorization and the colonizer’s experiences of racial superiority and *self-mystification* to advance a negative critique of racial hierarchies. I am currently working on a book project focused on Frantz Fanon's sociogenic method of antiracist critique. Drawing in part on my doctoral thesis, I argue that the failure to theorize 'race' has substantial consequences for continental political theory including but not limited to understanding the reproduction of racial injustice. I have also written on the politics of voice and visibility in the U.S. and Northern Ireland. Everything in the universe is created through letters, numbers, and sound; which then creates shapes and patterns. The world around us is a blueprint of how the universe grows and communicates. From the growth of plants, the proportions of our body, to artwork, and the sounds of music, it is everywhere. We call the study and understanding of this language Sacred Geometry. Sacred Geometry looks at these patterns and proportions as an expression of the Divine. In studying these geometric patterns and vibrational energies, one comes to more of an understanding of the language of the universe, and how to work with these shapes and patterns to support them in life. Astral travel is the art of expanding one’s consciousness to travel outside the physical body to gain more awareness, knowledge, and understanding. For some, astral travel comes easy, for others, it takes practice. Either way, it is an art, therefore, practice is important. There are different forms and techniques on how to astral travel, within this workshop, we will learn one specific way. There can be dangers if one astral travels without proper guidance, it may lead to more harm than good. This workshop is presented in a very specific manner to ensure the safety of the traveler. At Unity of Columbus, our Youth and Family Ministry nurtures the spiritual growth of children and families through love, joy, and practical spiritual teachings. Each Sunday, children explore timeless spiritual principles through stories, creative activities, music, and group sharing in a safe and welcoming environment. Rev. Steven Clevenger is an ordained spiritualist minister with over 40 years experience as a Spiritual Healer, Clairvoyant and Spiritual Teacher, educated and trained at the White Lily Chapel. Rev. Siobhan Wolf Shaffer is an ordained spiritualist minister and certified medium and healer with over 20 years experience. She began her development in 1988 in Pennsylvania and continued when she moved to Ohio in 1998 where she studied at Rays of Lights Church with Rev. Steven Clevenger. Our full worship services consist of an inspirational lecture, healing meditation, and messages from the spirit world that serve to demonstrate evidence of eternal life.
