London Clojure Dojo at uSwitch
London Clojure Dojo at uSwitch
uSwitch is located on the first floor of the ZPG building at 5 Copper Row, London, SE1 2LH, London (Click on the map for directions) What 3 words location: [https://what3words.com/puts.sudden.else](https://what3words.com/puts.sudden.else) The Clojure dojo is a collaborative way to learn Clojure/ClojureScript through practice. The aim is to learn a little more than before you started. This event is for those new to coding through to more experienced developers. We organise into small groups (2-4) people and write code to solve challenges great and small, chosen by those at the event. We aim to ensure someone in your group has some Clojure experience, so you shouldn't feel lost (well no more than all developers do when Stack Overflow is broken). Example challenges for the coding dojo are listed on this website: http://www.londonclojurians.org/code-dojo/ Various past exercises have been loaded to [https://github.com/ldnclj](https://github.com/ldnclj/lisp1.5/blob/master/src/lisp1/5.clj) # Approximate schedule: 18:40 Doors open and start collecting suggestions 18.45 Pizza should have arrived 19:00 Quick intros and vote on suggestions 19:15 Break out into groups and start practising 20:45 Gather together for a quick show and tell # What should I bring? We organise into small groups, so if you have a laptop with a working Clojure environment please bring it along (there are lots of online Clojure environments, so you can just use your browser too). # How do I get in to the building? At the glass doors press the buzzer to inform the security guard you are here. Say you are here for the event on the first floor. Is there way to talk with the Clojure community? Why yes. The Clojurians Slack channel is full of friendly people who love to try and help. People based in London are often in the #clojure-uk channel. Sign up for a free account to the Clojurians Slack community via http://clojurians.net/ What is Clojure? Clojure is a JVM language that has syntactically similarities to Lisp, full integration with Java and its libraries and focuses on providing a solution to the issue of single machine concurrency. Its small core makes it surprisingly easy for Java developers to pick up and it provides a powerful set of concurrency strategies and data structures designed to make immutable data easy to work with. If you went to Rich Hickey’s LJC talk about creating Clojure you’ll already know this, if not it’s well worth watching the Rich Hickey “Clojure for Java Programmers” video or Stuart Halloway “Radical Simplicity” video .

London Platform User Group (LOPUG), Wednesday 14th January, 6.30pm onwards
For our January meetup, we're back at the fabulous Accurx offices. We are finalising our full speaker lineup and the agenda will be: * 6:30pm - arrive, drinks, networking * 7:00pm - Welcome & Housekeeping * 7:15pm - **Talk 1: Measuring your Platform Engineering impact** Platform Engineering is gaining traction, but its value is often lost in translation. To engineering teams, it means golden paths and reusable pipelines. But how do you make its impact resonate with a CEO, a Head of Product, or even Security and Change Management? In this talk, Christopher will explore how the same platform capabilities, such as environments as a service and Continuous Delivery pipelines, can move the needle for different types of stakeholders. The key is choosing the right metric and telling the right story. He will share real examples from working with platform teams at large enterprises, showing how he's helped: * Explain platform engineering in the language of different stakeholders * Define outcome-based KPIs that align with each sponsor’s priorities * Track those metrics over time to demonstrate value and build accountability He will walk through: * Strategic metrics such as faster market entry and fewer launch failures * Delivery metrics such as lead time and deployment frequency * Enabling metrics such as pipeline reliability and environment readiness * Governance metrics such as change success rates, policy coverage, and audit time **Speaker: Christopher Bater, CTO @ Core Engineering Consulting Group** *Over 20 years Christopher has spent time in most areas of software delivery, product development, JVM library development (concurrency/distributed systems), Infrastructure engineering, architecture & system design and most recently Platform Engineering. He has a passion for speed and stability, focusing on what we need to do next to speed up the software delivery lifecycle. Over the years he’s contributed to many open source projects including Akka & Kubernetes.* * 7.45pm - food, more drinks & networking * 8.00pm - **Talk** **2: "TBC"** **Speaker: Lewis Denham-Parry, Staff Solutions Engineer @ Edera** *Lewis Denham-Parry orchestrates containers by day and puts them through rigorous security testing by night. As Staff Solutions Engineer at Edera, he leverages his diverse background to deliver the robust security and isolation that modern systems demand.* *A dynamic speaker at KubeCon, OSS, SANS, and BSides, Lewis enthusiastically shares his expertise with the global tech community, though his heart remains in the Welsh tech scene.* *You can easily find him online, just search for his surname.* * 8.30pm onwards - drinks and networking. So, please come and join us, we look forward to seeing you there. The LOPUG team. * Food and drinks provided * Good time will be had by all

Guided by the compassionate presence of **Bill Sanda**, you'll step into a space where healing is not only possible, but inevitable—when met with an open heart. This isn’t just another offering. This is a soul-remembrance. During our time together, you will: ✨ **Uncover the hidden patterns of your past**, including the emotional echoes, ancestral threads, and past-life imprints that continue to influence your present reality ✨ **Liberate yourself from repetitive cycles** of fear, doubt, or stagnation, so you can move forward in alignment with your soul’s highest expression ✨ **Receive healing directly from your Akashic Records**, reconnecting to your innate wisdom and Divine blueprint ✨ **Remember who you are beyond this lifetime**, as insights from past incarnations help you navigate your current path with grace ✨ **Experience the sacred sound of Light Language**—a celestial, soul-coded vibration that speaks beyond the mind, clearing density, activating remembrance, and harmonizing your energy at the DNA level Bill’s sacred gift of channeling the Akashic Records—woven together with the high-frequency transmission of Light Language—creates a multidimensional space for profound transformation. You’ll also receive personal attention during the workshop through mini-healing sessions, and we'll culminate in a group integration, inviting a collective shift in vibration and consciousness. **Here’s what others have shared about their experience:** *“Bill is exceptionally gifted… It seemed that everyone had erased years... looking so much younger and so much more relaxed and at peace than before the session. The shift happening for each person was actually physically visible.”* — *Cindy W.* *“Finally, I understand what has been causing the sabotaging behaviors. Two days later, I’m clearer and more spiritually connected than I’ve ever been. Thank you, Bill, for your healing gifts.”* — *Wendy W.* ***About Bill Sanda*** *A lifelong seeker and heart-led healer, **Bill Sanda** walks with humility, clarity, and deep reverence for the sacred. His journey has led him to study with some of today’s most respected spiritual masters, but it was through divine revelation that his ability to work within the Akashic Records and transmit Light Language fully emerged. Bill now offers this work as a gift of service—to support others in awakening to their truth, releasing what no longer serves, and remembering the wholeness that has always been within. His mission is simple and powerful: to support your healing on all levels—**emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual**—so you can live more aligned, more free, and more fully alive.* \*\*\* If you feel the call, trust it.
