**For ages 13 and above.** Aikido is a martial art which originated in Japan with its founder, Morihei Ueshiba, in the early twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the world’s most popular martial arts. At its most basic level, Aikido is an empty-handed system of throwing, joint-locking, striking and pinning techniques, coupled with training in the varying use of sword (bokken), staff (jo) and knife (tanto) techniques. The core principle of Aikido is not to resist the laws of nature but to harmonize without the undue application of aggressive strength. In practice, aikido techniques are applied by efficient redirection of the attacker’s power against him/her using minimal force and without being overly injurious. The Bujinkan schools are among the few remaining today that have not been transformed into sports so there are no competitions or competitive influences in our training. Welcome to Super Lazy Cardboard Saturdays! Unlike our other game days, this one is a little on the lazy side. These are the times when gems like Mountain Goats, GPS, 15 Days will shine. Azul, Splendor, Jamaica and even slightly heavier ones like the Kodama series are also popular especially if all you want is to spend a day in the magical forests with the spirits. But still, you will not be able to stop guys organising an expedition to the Copperneck Mountains in Gloomhaven or to set the masts ablaze among the mighty airships in Avertigo in the south china airs and seas. For the creatives out there, you might bump into others with similar interests as game designers, illustrators and you know, the arty-farties tend to gather on Saturdays to show off their stuff and chat. We will contact you when you sign up and place you into appropriate messaging groups with different needs to facilitate further communication. Total noobs are totally welcome! While we don't serve food ourselves, we are smack right in the middle of the legendary Golden Mile premises with an huge range of eateries from super curry puffs, loud Japanese izakaya food, heavenly chicken rice with steamboat, hellish black burgers and authentic Thai food that is just sick. All within a pebble's throw away. Tea and dinner sessions (at our own expenses) usually follow the gaming sessions according to our designated groups. Due to the current Covid-19 and social distancing restrictions, you are not allowed to join us for these food consuming sessions only. For your understanding, please If you have something specific in mind, do a shout out below and we see if we can help within reasonable grounds. There will be a charge of SGD $15 (ARENA: $15) collected at the door (in cash) to help with the running of the event. During our training sessions, you can expect to improve your speed and agility while learning defensive moves which include learning to grapple ground and stand up. These classes are ideal for those who want to enhance physical strength and endurance. **For ages 4 and above.** These Multi - Jutsu classes cover the following: **Weapons** Students will be introduced to different weapons movements and learn to use weapons for both attacks and defenses. **Strikes** Punches, kicks, chops, and attacks will be given more attention to building the foundation for the students to learn defensive movements. **Freestyles** Students will learn to be aware of the surroundings and build their basic movements to execute defense against attack from various positions. Students will also be taught variations to the technique to be able to use them in any situation. **Grappling** In reference to other Martial Arts like Judo, Jiu-Jitsu & Karate, students will learn to counter grappling attacks and situations in various forms and positions. **Takedowns** Students will learn to maneuver a takedown situation. Ground techniques and movements will be introduced to the class. Students learn to eliminate unnecessary physical actions in order to achieve direct and efficient movements including physical strength, awareness, posture, poise, focus, and dignity. We are a real world Martial arts group. \ Called DO JUNG ISHU (the art of fighting) \ Based off of Jeet kune do we just continued where Bruce Lee left off. \ We have been around a while. \ We are donation based.
