These classes focus on weapon practice. Many aikido techniques have their origin in weapons handling and thus are related with Japanese weapon arts like Kendo. Using a weapon as an extension of the hand, it generates higher impact speed and creates different danger and distance perception. On the other side, perfection of cuts and draws is a very meditational and focused practice. Despite danger, the mind should stay clear and movements should be very precise. As a result of weapons training, students polish their hands and body technique – with more precise movement, coordination and martial awareness. Join a **beginner-friendly Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) class** focused on health, movement, and steady learning. No prior martial arts experience is required. These are **FREE weekly meetups** covering the fundamentals of **Chen Style Hunyuan Taijiquan**, including basic alignment, breath and intent coordination, and introductory work on **24 & 48 Fist Forms**, **48 Sword Form**, **push-hands**, and **qigong**. Classes include **Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced groups**, suitable for both newcomers and experienced practitioners. Sessions are held weekly, **rain or shine**, unless cancelled in advance, with an emphasis on health, consistency, and supportive community practice.

**For ages 13 and above.** Aikido is a martial art which originated in Japan with its founder, Morihei Ueshiba, in the early twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the world’s most popular martial arts. At its most basic level, Aikido is an empty-handed system of throwing, joint-locking, striking and pinning techniques, coupled with training in the varying use of sword (bokken), staff (jo) and knife (tanto) techniques. The core principle of Aikido is not to resist the laws of nature but to harmonize without the undue application of aggressive strength. In practice, aikido techniques are applied by efficient redirection of the attacker’s power against him/her using minimal force and without being overly injurious. **For ages 4 and above.** These Multi - Jutsu classes cover the following: **Weapons** Students will be introduced to different weapons movements and learn to use weapons for both attacks and defenses. **Strikes** Punches, kicks, chops, and attacks will be given more attention to building the foundation for the students to learn defensive movements. **Freestyles** Students will learn to be aware of the surroundings and build their basic movements to execute defense against attack from various positions. Students will also be taught variations to the technique to be able to use them in any situation. **Grappling** In reference to other Martial Arts like Judo, Jiu-Jitsu & Karate, students will learn to counter grappling attacks and situations in various forms and positions. **Takedowns** Students will learn to maneuver a takedown situation. Ground techniques and movements will be introduced to the class. Students learn to eliminate unnecessary physical actions in order to achieve direct and efficient movements including physical strength, awareness, posture, poise, focus, and dignity.
