Get ready creative writers! Inkwell is proud to announce Reading Club, our latest event for the Shanghai writing community. Reading Club is a low stress literature gathering that meets every other Monday evening. We read through through a short short or essay at the meeting and then discuss it. For two hours, poets can bring and share work to be critiqued and workshopped by fellow poets. The workshop is in English, but both experienced and new poets are encouraged to attend. Our workshop is very open and accepting. Since we are in China, everything we do is in the wechat group, and the meetup group often looks rather dead. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
