Join us for a friendly and relaxed English meetup in South Melbourne! This gathering is perfect for anyone who wants to practise English, meet new friends, and feel part of a welcoming community. Each week, we run **two simple sessions**: **Daily English**, where you learn useful everyday vocabulary, and **Learning English from the Bible**, where we explore short passages in clear, beginner-friendly English. The 2026 Melbourne ISKCON Ratha Yatra (Festival of the Chariots) is scheduled for Sunday, February 15, in St Kilda, typically coinciding with the St Kilda Festival. The procession begins at 1:00 pm at Cleve Gardens (corner of Fitzroy St & Beaconsfield Pde), featuring free music, dance, and vegetarian food at Catani Gardens from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. **Key Details for 2026:** * **Date:** Sunday, February 15, 2026 * **Chariot Parade Start:** 1:00 PM, beginning at Cleve Gardens, St Kilda. * **Location:** The procession travels through the St Kilda Festival precinct, with celebrations concentrated at Catani Gardens, 6 Jacka Boulevard. * **Features:** The event is free and includes a procession with decorated chariots, Hare Krishna food stalls (Veg/Vegan), mantra dance music, drama,, and kids' activities.

Is doing good really its own reward? To look around the world and see wrongdoing, injustice, and seemingly-gotten-away-with crime, people have often wondered whether or not it is "worth it" to do the right thing. These are not new questions--going back at least 3,000 years, human beings have wrestled with such questions, and the Psalmist, ca. 1,000 BC, sought such answers as well. He came to the conclusion that there was, indeed, an answer, and one that brought hope: God sees, God knows, and God will not allow evil to triumph, nor will He allow the wicked to escape justice. In addition to God's justice, He also promises mercy and blessing to those who humble themselves and follow Him. Psalm 1 and 2 address the underlying concerns of both of these questions--will wrong one day be righted, and is it worth it to do right, in spite of so much evil--with a resounding, "Yes, indeed!" Doing rightly is always good and *will* be blessed. Doing wrongly is always wrong, and those who think they have "gotten away with it" will one day understand the truth: God will not be mocked, and justice *will* prevail. Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Hall Museum of Geology at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a program he has wanted to share with us for a long time: Plate Tectonics. His description of his program: Continents on the move - Nothing in Earth history makes sense without moving continents - it tells us why mountains, volcanoes, minerals, and fossils are where they are. This talk examines the evidence for continental drift, why it was disbelieved, and explains how the more-encompassing theory of plate tectonics was developed and eventually proven.
