This time we are going to experience the world-famous spa town of Karlovy Vary, a spa town situated in western Bohemia. We will admire the grand 19th-century spa architecture, stroll along the impressive colonnades, and sip the presumably health-restoring sulphurous waters from 12 different springs in spouted ceramic drinking cups. One of the most famous attractions is the hot spring that spews out hot thermal waters to a height of 12 meters. We are a group of runners who meet most weeks for a run around the beautiful Vltava River's edge. You can bring your running shoes straight from the office/home office if you don't have time to stop at home. There will be a place to put your bags in the Cafe. We will run about 9 km along the river and have a drink afterwards. Paces vary! We will meet in the square near Kavarna Liberal (Hermanova 6), near the Vltavska metro/tram stop at 6:30 on Wednesday. In the 18th and 19th centuries, people used Victorian puzzle purses to hide poems, romantic messages, and tiny keepsakes — sometimes even a lock of hair — inside beautifully folded paper. You had to open them step by step to get to the heart of it. The idea comes from Japanese Tato origami, and later became a popular (and very personal) way to court in England and America. No envelopes, no seals — just clever folds keeping the secret safe. In this workshop, we’re giving this old tradition a modern life. You’ll make your own puzzle purse using beautiful paper, and turn it into a card, a love note, or a small gift wrapper that actually feels special. No experience needed.
