Do you like reading and self-reflection, but haven’t found the right place or time for it?
Well, then I have good news for you! At this event, we’ll definitely tie you to a chair until you finish reading—after which you can reflect on your experience in writing and discuss it with others.
(The rope for the chair is not included.)
But seriously: if you want a space to read, reflect, be creative, and share with others, bring your favorite book and pen, and join us!
No previous experience of writing is required and you can bring any book you like, this is a safe space—feel free to share your thoughts and approach others with kindness.
**The event itself is free, but please get yourself a nice slice of cake, and sip of a tea and hot chocolate while reading.**
The session begins with arrival and settling in, followed by a period of silent reading. Afterward, there is group discussion, personal writing and reflection, and a final group conversation with mingling to close the session.

Budapest Silent Book Club #102 at MagNet House
Hello everyone,
Join us for an afternoon of quiet reading at MagNet Community House. We've reserved a private space so we can read without any pressure to buy things – just bring your book and settle in.
**🗓️ Schedule**
* 14:00 \- 14:30 \| Arrive & Settle In
* 14:30 \- 15:30 \| Silent Reading Hour
* 15:30 \- 16:30 \| Chat & Discussion

**A note on this week's space:** We have the Kids Room + Book Nook combo. The book nook is great for reading, but with a bigger group some of us might spill into the kids room (expect some colorful cuteness! 🧸). We'll probably do the discussion there too. It's cozy and works – just a bit different from usual!
**✨ Voluntary Contributions** Booking our own space costs 8250 HUF. We use a voluntary contribution model (suggested 500-1000 HUF per person, but completely optional). There'll be a Revolut QR code and cash box at the event. All funds go to the venue, with any extra covering Meetup costs. Meditation (English)
Practice Buddhist meditation in the middle of Budapest!
The meditation is suitable for beginners. Each regular meditation is guided and begins with a short introduction. (all together is about 30-40 minutes)
Our regular Buddhist meditations have proven popular with people who want to integrate authentic Buddhist methods into their daily lives. For the modern lay person who is juggling work, relationships, and an active role in society, we teach a meditation that is easy to learn, and profound and powerful for experienced practitioners.
The meditation originates from the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. It has a cumulative effect on mind, leading to greater clarity and calmness. Fearlessness, joy, and active compassion are the result of regular practice of Buddhist meditation.
* Do I need any special clothing?
No special clothing needed.
* Does the attendance cost anything?
