Heart Stealers: Arcade for a Cause & Singles Mixer
**If you have registered for Early Access via Patreon you do not need to sign up via Meetup**
Heart Stealers is a community engagement-focused, âKing of the Hillâ challenge that will introduce guests to new people and new games, and encourage folks to play with purpose.
**AND DCGG's first Singles Mixer <3 <3 <3**
The singles mixer is 1000% Optional and will use the spotlight system.
Red - Not interested in Single Mixer
Yellow - I prefer to approach others
Green - Hit me with your best one-liner
**How it Works**
At each event, guests will pick a nonprofit / team that they would like to champion. This month the non-profits to champion are: **[Kid Power Inc ](https://www.kidpowerdc.org/)**, **[DC Abortion Fund ](https://dcabortionfund.org/ )**, and the **[Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network](https://www.dcmigrantmutualaid.org/in-the-news )**. How well you and your team do at stealing necklaces from the other teams will determine what portion of the prize pool your nonprofit will receive. Every nonprofit goes home with something!
**To participate, guests will be requested to contribute a $10 donation at the door. This will go to the donation pool for the event and includes starter tokens.**
Folks may also purchase additional tokens from DCGG or tokens can be purchased with cash. Tokens are 25¢ each and games are typically 2-4 tokens.
Upon arrival, each player will get three heart necklaces to represent their lives. Lives can be won or lost by challenging other players to one of GameOn's amazing arcade games.
**Schedule**
7:00pm â 7:15pm: Mingle Time
7:15pm: Welcome and Game Start
7:20pm â 9:30pm: Heart Stealers Gameplay

ADHD Unmasked: Time to Un-Wind
**Have you spent your life pressing the gas and the brake at the same time?**
Many of us spend years of our adult lives never suspecting we have ADHD. Instead, weâve become experts at a complex balancing act, using high-level overcompensation and performance (the Brakes) to manage a brain fueled by deep meaning and interest (the Gas).
Whether you have a diagnosis or just a hunch that your brain works differently, you are welcome here. If conventional productivity advice has never quite worked for you, itâs time to move toward tools and connections that actually fit how your brain is wired.
**ADHD Unmasked: Time to Un-Wind** is a space for thoughtful, motivated people to move from masking to truly thriving. Weâre here to help each other unmask, reacquaint ourselves with our true selves, and bring that alignment into our daily lives.
**The Vibe**
* **Authenticity over Performance:** No more pretending. Let your nervous system take a real break.
* **Alignment over "Hacks":** When our nervous system is at ease and our actions align with our true selves, the "doing" follows naturally.
* **Safe & Confidential:** This is a circle of trust; our stories belong only to those present.
**The Logistics**
* **Small & High-Fidelity:** To keep our conversation focused and meaningful, we limit our circle to a small group.
* **The RSVP Care:** If you canât make it, just update your RSVP so we know who to welcome and can open the spot for someone else looking to connect.
* **The Flow:** An Authentic Check-In and Sharing, followed by a Theme Discussion to gain new insights for individual application. We wrap up with Takeaways, ready to move back into our world with a bit more ease and a lot more of ourselves. ;)
We see ADHD not as a deficit, but as **Authentically Driven, Highly Discerned**, a brain that works exceptionally well when aligned with the right interest.

**For those new or haven't been in awhile, here is some basic information about our meetup:**
1. **Know How to Play the Game**: Every member of the Alexandria Euchre Club must know how to play the game of Euchre to attend a meetup. If you know the game, but it has been years since you've played, that is fine as we've all been there and will be patient while it comes flooding back to you.
2. **New To The Group:** If you have never been, we are a friendly group and welcome everyone to come. Very few people come with a friend or spouse. What this means is that it will not be awkward to arrive alone. It is better than a happy hour because it is easy to make conversation about cards. You don't have to even ask the dreaded "what do you do?" question. If you come three times, you are a regular. Also, house rules are that we play stick the dealer (ask if you don't know this variation).
3. **Correct Table Count:** Euchre is a 4 person game--yes, I know there are 3 and 6 person variations, but most people prefer the 4 person game. What this means is that if you sign-up, we are counting on you to be there. The deadline for RSVP is 2 days prior to the meet-up. Please update by that time, especially if you are going to cancel your RSVP. If you get 3 "no shows" and you'll only be able to sign up via an organizer.
4. **The Waiting List:** If this month is like the previous months, we will have a waiting list. Please be considerate and honor your RSVP. Of course, if you are sick and on death's door we don't want you to come out and get the rest of us sick; however, if not please do come play. A good evening of food, drink, cards, and friendship may be all that you need to be more productive the next day. If you are on the waiting list I am expecting you to either remove yourself if you don't want to be considered for an open slot, or check the site (or email) so you know you've been promoted to an RSVP of YES when a slot opens up.
5. **Costs:** There are some costs associated with meetup -- I have to pay Meetup every 6 months for listing on their website. They don't work off of advertising fees. We pass the bowl around and ask people to throw a $1 in each time they come.
Thanks everyone... looking forward to seeing ya !!

Lorca's LA CASA DE BERNARDA ALBA (The House of Bernarda Alba)
Experience GALA's contemporary staging of the modern classic ***La casa de Bernarda Alba (The House of Bernarda Alba)*** by Spanish playwright Federico GarcĂa Lorca. Directed by JosĂŠ Zayas and with original music by Koki Lortkipanidze, the play explores themes of female oppression, sexual repression, and the conflict between tradition and modernity, all universal topics that resonate with audiences today.
GarcĂa Lorcaâs ***The House of Bernarda Alba*** brims with tension, desire, and rebellion as five sisters are forced into strict mourning for their father under the iron rule of their mother, Bernarda. In this electrifying new production, passions simmer behind closed doors, secrets spark dangerous rivalries, and the pressure of a house built on control threatens to explode. This contemporary staging infuses Lorcaâs classic with a sensuous, modern pulse and a dark Gothic mystery, illuminating why Bernarda Alba remains as urgent and thrilling today as ever.
CAST: Luz NicolĂĄs as Bernarda, Evelyn Rosario Vega as Poncia, MarĂa Coral as Adela, MarĂa del Mar RodrĂguez as Angustias, Giselle GonzĂĄlez as Martirio, Anna MalavĂŠ as Magdalena, Alicia Kaplan an as MarĂa Josefa, and Ixchel as Amelia.
PERFORMANCES: February 5 through March 1, 2026. The production is presented in Spanish with English surtitles, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.
Community Night is Thursday, Feberuary 5 at 8 pm.
Press Night and Noche de GALA, which includes a post-performance reception with the creative team and cast, is Saturday, February 7 at 8 pm.

Bad Girls Book Club February 2026
**Our February novel is: Julia by Sandra Newman**
**This month is a classic, dystopian, fiction, literary fiction, womenâs fiction, and science fiction novel. The book is 394 pages in print and 14 hours and 20 minutes on audiobook.**
**An imaginative, feminist, and brilliantly relevant-to-today retelling of Orwellâs 1984, from the point of view of Winston Smithâs lover, Julia, by critically acclaimed novelist Sandra Newman.**
Julia Worthing is a mechanic, working in the Fiction Department at the Ministry of Truth. Itâs 1984, and Britain (now called Airstrip One) has long been absorbed into the larger trans-Atlantic nation of Oceania. Oceania has been at war for as long as anyone can remember, and is ruled by an ultra-totalitarian Party, whose leader is a quasi-mythical figure called Big Brother. In short, everything about this world is as it is in Orwellâs 1984.
All her life, Julia has known only Oceania, and, until she meets Winston Smith, she has never imagined anything else. She is an ideal citizen: cheerfully cynical, always ready with a bribe, piously repeating every political slogan while believing in nothing. She routinely breaks the rules, but also collaborates with the regime when necessary. Everyone likes Julia.
Then one day she finds herself walking toward Winston Smith in a corridor and impulsively slips him a note, setting in motion the devastating, unforgettable events of the classic story. Julia takes us on a surprising journey through Orwellâs now-iconic dystopia, with twists that reveal unexpected sides not only to Julia, but to other familiar figures in the 1984 universe. This unique perspective lays bare our own world in haunting and provocative ways, just as the original did almost seventy-five years ago.
