This is a mini-group class for a small number of English students (minimum 2, maximum 4) so that everyone gets lots of opportunity to speak and be corrected. We switch topics as the conversation flows, so that you can get used to talking about a variety of subjects and build your confidence, grammar and vocabulary. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and you'll meet new people to practice with. Look forward to seeing you there!

9 mile circular walk from Farnborough Village to Cudham then Single Street, Luxted, Downe and back to Farnborough Village, taking in part of High Elms Country Park and several picturesque woods and fields with a few steep uphill / downhills as we criss-cross local valleys. Bring a picnic lunch for midway and we’ll probably also stop for refreshments at one of the two pubs and a cafe in Downe on the way back. Please meet at 10:15 to leave at 10:30 prompt from the triangular traffic island in the middle of **Farnborough Village** at junction of High Street and Church Road **BR6 7DB**, returning by 15:30. Free parking on nearby residential roads but beware of metered parking by shops on high street and please avoid the small, well-used church car park. This area is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone so consider car-sharing if your jalopy isn’t ULEZ compliant. Alternatively, the frequent 358 Bus service stops near the start/finish point as it runs between Orpington and Bromley South rail stations (then continues via Beckenham to Crystal Palace). Welcome to the Christmas special edition of Philosophy Cafe . All the goodness as usual plus festivities . Topics might reflect the mood . Try to come in your Christmas jumper and all the cheer . There will some special goodies for the occasion . We have reserved the Chicester Room in ther pub for us . Please ask for Philosophy cafe at the door and they will direct you . We like to break into small groups and have a healthy discussion about life , philosophy and ideas . We break out into groups of 6 to discuss three questions over 45min to 1 hour; and then spend another 45min feeding back into the main group. The three topics are chosen on the day by vote, and largely derived from suggestions on the day. We welcome new ideas , so please come up with suggestions or topics that you want to talk about . There is no specific topic list and you do not need to read or know anything particular about philosophy . The official time is 7-9: 30 pm , but we usually go into a pub mode after 9:30 pm and continue our discusssions.

Join us for some social andd focused writing time. All writers and all experience levels are welcome, so don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in your area. When you show up, feel free to say hello to everyone, grab a drink, and get your writing tools ready. Once you’ve settled in you can use the time to chat with your fellow writers, and at 7pm I’ll set the timer for a quiet focused writing session in which we will have time to work on our individual projects in the company of others. We’ll have a break about half way through in which people can chat some more. Then after this we will proceed with another focused writing session. Feel free to grab a drink or some food at any time during the event. After the event we’ll have time to chat more and for people to get to know each other a bit better. Flamenco Dance Classes for Beginners at Danceworks every Sunday! We will work on the placement of the body, the perception of the rhythm, clapping, footwork, movements of arms and head. Choreography depending on the level: Alegrías, Bulerías, Tangos, etc. We will learn or perfect the four Sevillanas. If you have dancing shoes and clothes, bring them. She also led flamenco classes at Rey Juan Carlos University from 2013 to 2018. Born and raised in Madrid (Spain), she began studying ballet and Spanish dance from the tender age of nine. Maika studied at Karen Taft Dance Academy and Flamenco Centre “Amor de Dios”, majoring in Spanish Dance at Conservatory of Dance in Madrid. In 2003, she was awarded a certificate in Teaching Methodology Applied to Spanish Dance and then focused her career on dance education. Maika has continued her professional training alongside teachers including Antonio Canales, Alfonso Losa, La Lupi, Rojas and Rodriguez. Maika co-founded the company Spanish Flamenco Tour, based in Miami (USA), a business dedicated to promoting flamenco and Spanish culture, to a local audience. Adding more strings to her bow, Maika embarked on a Master´s Degree in Leadership and Management of Cultural Projects at Institute of Dance “Alicia Alonso”, Rey Juan Carlos University. Her final master’s project was based on the promotion of Spanish dance, receiving a First-Class Degree. Maika’s classes are designed to extract every student’s natural ability to dance and show them how wonderful and fun, this art form is.

Salsamante Dance Academy will be at Swerve to share the Rhythm & Energy of Bachata & Salsa. These are Beginner Level lessons to get you comfortable and understand the two dances. BuckeyeCocoa is a group of Objective-C/Swift developers/enthusiasts. We host monthly Cocoaheads and near-weekly NSCoder meetings in Columbus, Ohio. The meetings are free to attend. Presentations!
