**When everything can be generated, what makes a brand truly stand out?** As templates, stock visuals, and AI-optimized content flood our feeds, much of today’s visual communication starts to look generic and interchangeable. When everything becomes easier to produce, standing out becomes harder. The challenge is no longer creating more content. It’s creating communication that feels distinctive, human, and memorable. Und weil der erste Sonntag im Monat dieses Mal auf den Ostersonntag fällt, treffen wir uns ausnahmsweise am Samstag. Das passt gut, denn in der Graphischen Sammlung der ETH Zürich eröffnet gerade eine spannende neue Ausstellung: «Gletscher & Stromschnellen. Gezeichnete Schweiz um 1800». Gezeigt werden Werke aus dem reichen Bestand an Schweizer Handzeichnungen des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts, darunter Aquarelle, Gouachen, Studien und wissenschaftlich geprägte Darstellungen der Alpen. Die Ausstellung zeigt, wie das Bild der Schweiz um 1800 geprägt wurde – mit Gletschern, Gebirgslandschaften und dramatischen Naturmotiven, die auch heute noch stark wirken. Bei gutem Wetter können wir stattdessen aber auch draussen zeichnen, beispielsweise auf der Polyterrasse mit einem Blick über die Altstadt. There, plenty of casts of historical statues are waiting for us to sketch them. Chairs are available to borrow there. Admission is free. If the weather turns out to be nice after all, we can always head to the Polyterrasse. We’ll meet inside in the museum foyer. END OF UPDATE As the weather is set to turn properly cold and unpleasant again, we are postponing our next meetup by one week to the Easter weekend. And since the first Sunday of the month falls on Easter Sunday this time, we will meet on Saturday instead. That works out rather well, because the Graphische Sammlung at ETH Zurich is opening an intriguing new exhibition: “Glaciers & Rapids. Drawn Switzerland around 1800.” It presents works from its rich holdings of 18th and 19th century Swiss drawings, including watercolours, gouaches, studies and scientifically informed depictions of the Alps. The exhibition explores how the visual image of Switzerland was shaped around 1800, through glaciers, mountain scenery and dramatic natural subjects that still resonate today. For sketchers, this promises compelling lines, tonal values, compositions and the question of how landscape can be staged through drawing. If the weather is fine, however, we can also draw outdoors instead, for example on the Polyterrasse with a view over the old town. In any case, we’ll meet indoors in front of the entrance to the Graphic Collection exhibition. **Überempfindlichkeiten, Entwerten, Angriffigkeit und Vermeiden stören das Vertrauen in den Menschen: Wie schaffen wir ein selbstbestimmtes und friedliches Zusammenleben?** Ablauf: Kennenlernen: 9.00 je 4 Module: 9.15- 11.00, 11.30- 13.00, 15.00 – 16.30., 17.00 – 18.30 Wie schön ist ein friedliches Zusammenleben. Wer wünscht sich das nicht? Und wie oft sind wir enttäuscht von uns oder unseren Mitmenschen, dass wir uns trotz grossem Einsatz verpassen, uns missverstehen oder sogar im besten Freund einen Gegner oder sogar Feind erleben - und ihn entsprechend schlecht behandeln. Leider sind die meisten Menschen nicht sehr gut darauf vorbereitet, sich mit anderen ein Leben einzurichten, in dem man sich immer besser kennenlernt und versteht. Oft fühlen sich Menschen viel zu schnell gedrängt, dem anderen auszuweichen, sich zu distanzieren, den anderen innerlich als unwichtig zu erklären oder gar so zu tun, als ob man sich nicht mehr für den anderen interessiert. Es kann aber auch sein, dass einem nichts Besseres einfällt als den anderen zu entwerten, ihn direkt anzugreifen oder emotional gezielt zu verletzen. Wie man die Menschen und die Welt spontan erlebt, empfindet und beurteilt entsteht ganz unbewusst in den ersten Lebensjahren. Ein Kind deutet, wie es mit anderen umgehen kann und muss und ob und wann es anderen vertrauen kann. Dabei entstehen viele Fehldeutungen wie Überempfindlichkeiten, die sich darin zeigen, wie schnell und wann sich ein Menschen von anderen gesehen fühlt und was er unternehmen muss, um vom anderen eine Reaktion zu erhalten. Je schneller ein Mensch glaubt, entwertet zu werden, umso weniger kann er seine Beziehungen positiv gestalten. Je verbundener sich ein Mensch fühlen kann, umso aufgeschlossener ist er und kann mehr Vertrauen zu anderen entwickeln. Im Seminar legen wir den Schwerpunkt auf folgendes: Je mehr Einblick die Teilnehmer bekommen, welche Motive den verschiedenen Gefühlslagen zugrunde liegen und wie diese entstanden sind, desto wohlgesonnener erleben sie die anderen Menschen. Falls dies dem Einzelnen gelingt, kann er dem anderen gegenüber offener und zugewandter sein, hört leichter zu, freut sich an ihm, empfindet weniger Gegensätzlichkeiten und erkennt leichter Gemeinsamkeiten. Die Blickrichtung auf die Menschen und die Welt verändert sich. So kann es beglückend werden, frei und selbstbestimmt mit anderen zusammenzuarbeiten. Selbstbestimmt leben beinhaltet dann, dass man seinem Misstrauen und seinen Fehldeutungen aus der Kindheit nicht mehr ausgeliefert ist. Das gilt für persönliche Beziehungen und für ein friedliches gesellschaftliches Zusammenspiel. Wir sprechen darüber, wie dies aussehen kann. Ich freue mich auf einen erkenntnisreichen, gefühlsverbundenen gemeinsamen Tag.

Welcome to the Competitive Play Session. This session takes place every Saturday from 10:45 to 12:15 at the Yonex Badminton Hall Hardbrücke. The number of players on the waitlist one week in advance determines the number of courts booked. If you are on the waitlist but can no longer attend, please remove yourself as early as possible. Players are accepted into the session based on skill suitability. This session is for experienced players looking for quality games. Play is focused on doubles with a competitive mindset and consistent rallies. You should be comfortable smashing, return smashes and keeping up a moderate tempo throughout the session. New players and those who are new to badminton are welcome to join the PM Session (Open Level Play). Payment can be made via TWINT after the session.

**The Data-Driven Brand: Using Analytics to Shape Perception** Can you use analytics to improve tacos? This being CBUSDAW, we think the answer is probably “yes”, but we’re not sure how to implement or test this theory. For our April meetup we’ve got Sara Kear, CMO of Condado Tacos, to investigate this delicious question. Sara will explore how she blends quantitative data and qualitative customer feedback to shape brand positioning and drive business decisions. We all know that marketing and analytics go way beyond attribution. Sara will show how Condado uses customer insights to inform product and pricing strategy. She’ll also highlight how Condado leverages customer feedback at scale to influence operational priorities, positioning marketing as the voice of the customer across the organization. In the last 12 years Condado has gone from one location in Columbus to 52 locations across 10 states, so we’re guessing there’s more to that growth than really good guac (though the guac probably helps).
