At Parkville Toastmasters we are all about helping you to develop the skills and confidence you need to effectively express yourself in any situation. You can prepare for the next big presentation at work, for a job interview or just generally work on your confidence in communicating with others. Progressing through the sessions at your own pace, Toastmasters is the most effective, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication and leadership skills. Our members are from various backgrounds, including students, professionals and retirees and we welcome all members of the community to visit and join our club. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in the improvised speaking parts of the meeting. Guests will get to watch members of all levels of speaking experience talk. Only club members can give prepared speeches as these are projects assigned by Toastmasters to help members achieve their speaking goals. Dress in comfortable clothes and bring that smile you love to share. It's important to know that Members of this Meetup are not automatically members of the club. Meetup refers to people who belong to the Parkville Toastmasters Meetup group as 'members,' but from a Toastmasters point of view, people are only members if they've paid their club dues. 2026 is here and we are excited to announce Nosh Darbari, Human Centred Service Designer giving our first talk on "Hidden drivers behind good Design work." This talk will explore how Cognitive Load is a precursor to mental health and well-being. Nosh leads with his heart. Innovates with Purpose and Consciousness. He's an internationally experienced product and service designer working at the intersection of technology and human centred experience. Most recently he has worked within the vast and often tangled landscape of a federal government organisation. He thrives in complexity, despite the frustrations. Every challenge is a chance to design better systems or services with more human experiences. Beyond the 9-to-5, Nosh is a seeker of stillness. He chases sunrises and sunsets, not just for their beauty, but for the quiet lessons they offer — presence, perspective, and peace. Nosh also helps people recognise the early signals of stress before burnout takes hold. He helps them to rediscover their point of stability and offers simple, practical tools to navigate the noise of modern life with clarity and care.
