July Meetup: Hearables and assistive technologies
On the 1st of July we will host the next iteration of our monthly Audio Developer Meetup where **Peggy Sylopp** from [sinceare](https://www.sinceare.com/) will be presenting her work on personalization approaches for hearables, and **Vlad Litvinenko** will demo 'Spotykach', a looping playground.
See below for details!
As always, there will be a chance to network over drinks and pizza. Anyone interested in Audio development is welcome!
Doors open at 18:00, talks start at 18:15.
Please note: Attendance is **strictly limited** to people who have RSVP'd.
Talk details:
**Can users train their own audio system?** \- Peggy Sylopp
In this talk, we present Sinceare’s closed-loop personalization approach for hearables. Instead of relying on predefined fitting rules or static presets, users teach the system how it should sound through interaction and feedback. These preferences are transformed into personalized machine-learning models that learn how to control existing audio processing algorithms according to individual preferences.
Rather than replacing audio DSP algorithms, the generated models act as an adaptive control layer that continuously adjusts algorithm parameters based on user-specific listening preferences.
Based on more than eight years of research and a recent study conducted with Fraunhofer IDMT and Charité, we will share insights into user-driven audio model generation, human-in-the-loop machine learning, and the path from research prototype to future embedded hearable deployment.
**Spotykach, a looping playground** \- Vlad Litvinenko
Vlad is a Berlin based software developer doing e-commerce by day, bleeping machines at night and sometimes music in between.
The talk is about device they’ve recently built. It’s “Spotykach”, a looping playground, as they call it. It started from an attempt to do a simple Beat-Repeat kind of plugin, but then evolved into a community project within Synthux Academy with people from different backgrounds and countries.

Join me for Calisthenics Classes! (Beginners)
Join me for my **Beginner Calisthenics Class** every Wednesday at 7pm at a park (check the location below) and learn how to build strength, flexibility and confidence using just your bodyweight.
My name is Maroof 👋 and I’ve been practicing calisthenics for the last 6 years. I love this sport because I’m fascinated by the incredible movements the human body can achieve and I believe calisthenics connects people, builds communities and is one of the most sociable forms of fitness out there.
In this class, we’ll cover the fundamentals like push-ups, squats and core exercises and also dive into the basics of more advanced movements such as the planche, front lever, back lever and freestyle calisthenics, all in a fun, supportive environment where you can progress at your own pace. We also play a quick team game at the end when there are a lot of participants. Winners get a small prize 😁
No experience needed, just bring comfortable clothes, some water and a positive attitude.
**Price:** Free.
This will be a recurring event every Wednesday unless stated otherwise.
**Disclaimer:**
Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your own safety.
Only confirm if you are attending the event, and update your RSVP accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out!

Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all types of work welcome)
Hello! I’m organising a coworking + socialising session for all of us who are working on projects (e.g. our own creations, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. 🙂
To ensure that we have time for both socialising AND working, we will be using the so-called “Pomodoro” technique:
**50 mins deep work** (silent), followed by **10 mins break** to socialise. And then repeat!
You are welcome to join whatever your personal background is, and whatever project you are working on.
I (the host) speak English and German, so either language is fine.
——————————————————-
AGENDA:
* **Short Intro**
Tell us who you are and share something about what you will be working on today
* **Pomodoro Session** \- 3x \(3h\)
Each Pomodoro session consists of 50 mins focused “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, **phones on silent mode**)
-> then 10 mins break: a chance to share your progress with others
-> Repeat
* **15 mins Wrap Up**
Celebrate what you achieved and get to know others 😊
————
Wifi + power plugs are available - but best to bring a fully charged laptop, just in case 🙃
You **do not** have to pay anything. But since we are using the café space, it is common courtesy to buy at least one drink (coffee costs roughly **4 Euros**).

This program is structured into a repeating 4-week cycle, with each week focusing on a key stage of the music creation process—from initial inspiration to a fully mixed production.
At the end of each month, the cycle resets back to Module 1. This allows for continuous repetition, progressive skill-building, and flexible entry at any stage of the cycle.
The workshop is led by **experienced producers who have worked with major artists, record labels, management teams, and global brands**, bringing real-world industry insight into the creative process.
This workshop is designed for **beginners / intermediate-level participants.**
> Connect with fellow Musicians, develop & turn Your ideas into finished tracks.
**Module 1: Music Theory, Sample Selection & Sound Design**

**Module 2: Beat & Groove Programming**
Development of rhythm, drum patterns, and groove-based elements. This module focuses on timing, swing, layering, and creating dynamic, modern beats that support vocals, songwriting & production ideas.
**Module 3: Vision, Songwriting & Recording**
This module focuses on artistic direction and expression. Participants develop song ideas, lyrics, and structure, and (if applicable) record vocals or musical ideas. The goal is to transform creative concepts into tangible recordings.
**Module 4: Arrangement & Mixing**
The final stage of the process. This module focuses on arranging the full track into a coherent structure and applying mixing techniques such as EQ, compression, spatial processing & balance to create a polished, release-ready sound.
**Feedback & Review Session**
At the end of each cycle, there is a dedicated feedback round where participants receive constructive critique on their work or ask questions. This session focuses on identifying strengths, improving technical and creative aspects & giving clear direction for the next iteration of their projects.
