DC Metro Crafts field trip @ Takoma Park Library, NW
DC Metro Crafts is travelling again, this time to the Takoma Park Library in NW. Bring your cross stitch, crochet, knitting, or other portable craft.
Summer stitches make Winter warmer
I know summer isn't peak stitchery, but nothing beats stitching in the AC with a cold beverage and some extra cool crafters! Join us at Aslin Taproom for another installment of the Sip & Stitch. Aslin has a full food menu and a wide selection of craft beers, seltzers, and soft drinks. Hope to see you there!
Every Tuesday is table tennis time too! (Permanent, Weekly)
Bring a friend, bring family, and bring that neighbor that you kinda know...
Come one, come all for some free table tennis.
Note: Because we have been playing regularly for years, members tend not to RSVP. If there are any questions, feel free to message.
Open Shop Hours
We will have open shop hours for anyone to bring their bikes to work on or need help fixing your own bike.
We will also have bikes that need to be fixed so you can learn if you like.
We will need everyone to sign in when arriving and sign out when leaving so we can keep track of volunteer hours and shop times.
Suggested donation of $15 per hour for use of tools and space would be appreciated. Thank you!
Read & Reflect: A Social Reading Circle.
Shared Pages, Shared Insights.
📚 Do you love reading, but wish you had a structure and a community to share your insights with?
Join our small circle of curious minds (just 4 members per gathering) as we come together for an hour of focused reading—in the calm setting of a library or the cozy atmosphere of a café.
Here’s how it works:
First part: Quiet reading on your own—bring a book you’re exploring, whether it’s philosophy, history, psychology, literature, or anything meaningful to you.
Second part: We regroup and each person shares key takeaways, insights, or questions sparked by their reading. This sparks a structured yet free-flowing conversation around ideas, perspectives, and personal reflections.
Why join?
Add structure to your reading habit.
Discover new books, authors, and ideas through others’ choices.
Build real connections by sharing and listening deeply.
Socialize around something meaningful instead of small talk.
Fun & easy way to play more tennis (please read event description for details)
We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches.
These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome. Post your skill level and a suggested court in the comments section so we can round up as many players as we can for some tennis fun!
Also, if you’re looking to meet new practice partners or play some matches and you aren’t already in the PlayYourCourt Community, you can go here to see what we’re all about and sign up:
https://www.playyourcourt.com/tennis-community/washington-dc/meetup/
If you love tennis, we’d love to have you! Be sure and watch the quick video that explains how everything works.
Happy hitting!

MTG Cube Draft
Starting Thursday, May 21, I'm running a weekly Proxy Cube draft in DC.

* **Modern Cube:** a straightforward Modern-format cube.
**Details:**
* **What:** Proxy Cube draft (2 cubes to begin with)
* **Where:** As You Are, 500 8th St SE, Washington DC
* **When:** Thursdays, 6:30 PM, starting May 21

* **Entry:** $5–$10 suggested donation, with proceeds going to a local community fridge project
More info at [capitalcube.club](http://capitalcube.club/) (reserve a spot)
