**SFS 1-24 - Final Gambit: Part 1**
Despite being slowed by a disastrous crash landing, Elovai, master of the Wreck of the Returned launched her invasion of the planet Akiton, using her nodocite armies, converted minions, and reality-warping magic. The Starfinder Society has worked hard to counter this invasion, partnering with numerous allies and working to secure intel and access to the Wreck. Recently, the Starfinders launched a rescue mission into the Wreck using a secret entrance, to liberate the innocents captured for conversion. Though they succeeded in their mission, they lost control of this entrance.
Determined to defeat Elovai before her forces overrun Akiton, First Seeker Sarmak is left with no other choice but to perform a concerted assault on the Wreck of the Returned alongside his fellow Starfinders and the many allies the Starfinder Society has made this year. While this joint coalition launches their well-planned assault and punches a whole in the Wreckโs defenses, a team of Starfinders is tasked with slipping into the Wreck of the Returned, reaching the central core, and destroying Elovai. Without Elovai, this initial, first wave invasion launched by the First Ones will be thwarted, and the Wreckโs many forces will lack leadership, simultaneously saving Akiton and opening the Wreck of the Returned to future exploration. The fate of Akiton and the future of the Pact Worlds is in your hands!
This is an adventure in the ongoing Invasionโs Edge metaplot, and is part one of a two-part scenario series. This adventureโs direct sequel is *Starfinder Society Scenario #1-26: Final Gambit: Part Two*.
Written by Kate Baker.
**SFS 1-26: Final Gambit: Part 2**
The invasion of the Wreck of the Returned continues as a team of Starfinders enters the magical heart of the Wreck, a metaphysical liminal space occupied by Elovaiโs mind. But can a foe as dangerous and powerful as a First One be defeated in a realm under her control? Battle your way through the heart of the Wreck to take down Elovai in a final showdown over the fate of Akiton!
This is an adventure in the ongoing Invasionโs Edge metaplot, and is part two of a two-part scenario series. This adventureโs direct prequel is *[Starfinder Society Scenario #1-24: Final Gambit: Part One](https://store.paizo.com/starfinder-society-scenario-1-24-final-gambit-part-one)*.

Stop Guessing: How to Measure and Improve LLM Outputs
Most people use LLMs by feel: ask a question, read the answer, decide whether it โseems good,โ and move on.
That works for casual use. It does not work when you are building software, automating workflows, writing important documents, or relying on AI for anything that needs to be repeatable.
In this talk, weโll look at how to improve and evaluate the inputs and outputs of LLMs using practical measurement techniques. Weโll cover how prompt changes affect results, how to compare outputs, how to build simple evaluation sets, and how math-based methods like similarity scoring can help you move beyond guesswork.
This will be beginner-friendly, so even if you don't know anything about AI, you should get something out of it. However, this will be a little more technical than our intro talks. You do not need to be an AI researcher, but programmers and technically curious attendees will get a lot out of it.
Weโll cover:
* Why โit looks goodโ is not enough
* How to improve prompts by changing the input, context, and constraints
* How to compare LLM outputs more systematically
* Basic evaluation techniques for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness
* How embeddings, cosine similarity, and scoring can help evaluate results
* Where automated evaluation works โ and where humans still need to stay in the loop
By the end, youโll have a practical mental model for treating LLMs less like magic and more like systems you can test, measure, and improve.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.
Book Club-Nobodyโs Fool by Harlan Coben

He doesn't know what happened. His screams drown out his thoughts--and then he runs. Twenty-two years later, Kierce, now a private investigator, is a new father who's working off his debts by doing low-level surveillance jobs and teaching wannabe sleuths at a night school in New York City. One evening, he recognizes a familiar face at the back of the classroom. Anna.

But join the local UX community for a chat and some biscuits to catch up. If you were in CA for Figma Config, tell us all the lines and you can tell me how I can animate an SVG without coding it by hand, and why Iโd even want to.
