Today's topic and material: to be added.. Cost: 2 students 35 chf per hour, 3 or more student 25 chf per hour per person. Class Length: 1 hour Class structure: • We read a text or a chapter from a book, discuss new words students have. And/or we learn part of grammar and practice using it. We have a good grammar book for that. • After that we discuss the topic and answer the text follow-up questions. • I also give homework tasks to make sentences with new words or do a grammar exercises. • If we finish the exercises earlier, we play word games or have a free chat. Hey Folks, we're going to hold a Climate Fresk! Er...What's that? A Climate Fresk a collaborative workshop in which we will explore some of the science behind climate change and be empowered to take action. The activity looks a bit like a domino game, using educational cards created by the Fresk organisation. (https://climatefresk.org/) No previous knowlege is needed. Just come ready to learn and to share what you already know. The workshop takes a full 3 hours and will be followed by home-baked goodies 🧁 🍪 🥠 as a reward for finishing! Two of us on the International Volunteers team have recently become Climate Fresk facilitators, and this event will be our premiere. So it's a 2-for-1 : learn about climate science AND help us launch our Fresk-facilitating adventure! (Plus the free cookies!) The Fellowship of the Star Schema: Transforming OLTP Data for Power BI One does not simply build reports on OLTP data. Join us on an epic journey from the depths of raw, normalized tables to the shining halls of a well-modeled star schema fit for Power BI greatness. We will demystify the differences between OLTP and OLAP, walk through star schema vs snowflake (and why Power BI has a clear favorite), and show you the compression differences between normalized and columnar storage that will make you never look at an OLTP model the same way again. We will cover the different types of dimensions, when to use them, and how to handle Slowly Changing Dimensions without losing your mind.
