SEE SIX of LONDON'S IMPRESSIVE LLUMINATED BRIDGES on this walk, followed by SOCIALISING with CHEAP FOOD and DRINKS in a convivial pub atmosphere. Commencing with a walk through Battersea Park and the fabulously illuminated Albert Bridge followed by a walk passing the new Battersea Development Complex and encompassing all of Central London's illumininated bridges from Lambeth Bridge to Waterloo Station where our walk ends. PLEASE NOTE THE LATER THAN USUAL START TIME OF 3.30PM. WALK START POINT: The new BATTERSEA POWER STATION on the Northern Line). WALK DISTANCE: Approx 4 miles. Wear good sturdy shoes/walking boots. To avoid insects, thorns, and stinging nettles, bare legs are not recommended. Take care as surfaces may be uneven, there may be low branches and some paths are also used by joggers and cyclists and sometimes cars (country lanes). Some tracks may be muddy and slippery. On occasion we may encounter wild and farm animals. If you require insurance for these walks you must arrange this yourself. No small children or large dogs please.

Join us for a weekly session of friendly and focussed writing time. Every Friday from 6pm. You'll find us inside Waterloo station: The Victory is on Balcony level, above main concourse. (Go to far north east end). There will be a sign at our table. ...... - We shut up for 1 hour of scheduled writing time - 6.30 to 7.30. Then time to chat or carry on at your preference. This is for writing of any description or experience level. Somewhere to get on with your own work, and connect with new people. Most importantly to not feel isolated in your pursuits, however big or small. If you're looking to further your writing interests; for a comfortable social space; ...or just need somewhere to sit and focus before you go home on a Friday - you're welcome to stop by. Please RSVP to give us an idea of who is coming / how many. ........ **6:00pm - 6:30pm** - Find our table and grab a seat. Plus any food or drink. - We'll take 5-10 minutes to say who we all are, and welcome anyone new. - (No need to say what you're working on, but feel welcome to). **6.30pm - 7.30pm** - No talking. All writers and all experience levels are welcome; be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. This is not a critique or workshop session so there will be no sharing your work and no one will see what you've written or give unsolicited advice. This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers. A most delightful and beautiful walk of around 6.5/7 miles following the Regents Canal into Victoria Park and then the Hertford Canal to the various waterways of the Olympic Park in Stratford. The walk will start at 10am. Please bring water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. The topic for January is "Chemistry" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 7:00 pm, show starts at 7:30 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
