[French version below] In our first workshop, we built Mouse vs Cheese — a keyboard-controlled terminal game where a mouse navigates a grid to reach the cheese 🧀. If you missed it, no worries! We'll get you up to speed in the first 10 minutes. Right now, the game works, but the code is written as one long sequence of instructions. Everything happens in the same place, which makes it harder to read, reuse, and improve. In this session, we'll refactor the game by organizing the code into functions. This will make the program clearer, more modular, and easier to extend. By the end of the workshop: * The game will allow you to play again without restarting the script * The code will be split into small, reusable functions * You'll see how organizing code properly makes programs easier to maintain and grow 👉 This is Session 2 of an ongoing Python Game Workshop series, but it stands completely on its own. This is a very special group walk! If you haven't visited the forest outside of the town Halle in the spring, then we highly recommend joining or going on your own time. During the spring, the Hallerbos is blooming with beautiful hyacinths covering the forest floor. You can get a sneak peak [here](https://www.hallerbos.be/). Over the years this has turned into quite the tourist attraction, which is why we decided to plan the walk during the week. Another special aspect of this group walk is that we will have a "guide" that not only grew up in this area, but is also in charge of expat services at the tourism department of Flemish Brabant. Nona will give some extra insight into the area and guide us through the first. **Meeting point**: Leuven train station \- We will take the train from Leuven to Halle\. Departure \(normally from platform B\) at 11:41 arrival 12:52\. We will meet outside of the Madmum on the station square at \(no later than\!\) 11:30 and walk to the platform together\. \- From the train station in Halle we will take a bus to the forest\. Please note that this walk is subject to the blooming of the flowers and the weather. If the flowers haven't bloomed yet, then we will cancel the walk. We did the best at estimating the time the flowers will bloom, since every year it is different. You are responsible to get your own train and bus ticket, and we will handle the guiding part :) Make sure to wear good walking shoes and bring water and maybe a snack! We will walk maximum 8km, on walking paths through the forest.

Congratulations to our Claddagh Club members who excelled with medals in the Area Public Speaking Competitions in Ghent with two gold and one silver and also in the Division Contest in Namur bringing home Bronze. The days are getting longer, work loads with all their challenges highlight the need for greater leadership and communication skills. Leadership Skills and Public Speaking acquired in Claddagh. Toastmasters was founded in 1924 year in California. Toastmaster's founder, Ralph Smedley wrote in 1955, ''while most of us have entered Toastmasters to learn to make speeches, that benefit is the beginning of the good which may come to us ,and the good that we do for mankind''. Claddagh Toastmasters helps you to develop your skills in public speaking, planning, leadership training, and managing your time. Storytelling Brussels aims to create a space where we pause, connect, and experience our shared humanity through the power of stories. Salut toi! 👋 Tu penses pouvoir survivre en français? 😂 Testons ça autour d’un ☕️ (ou de toute autre boisson 🍵 ou snack 🍪🍰🥐 qui t'inspire sur le moment). 📍 Où? Léopold PDN - un café parfois difficile à trouver surtout quand il pleut 🌧️☔, mais c’est exactement comme ça que commencent les aventures, pas vrai? 😂 Ne te perds pas au point de désespérer - envoie-moi un message avant de maudire Google Maps 🗺️! 💡 L'idée Prends ta commande (obligatoire!☝️), puis rejoins la table. Après une petite intro on plongera dans des sujets comme activités, voyages, musique… Et si on est suffisamment motivés, on pourra même jouer à quelques jeux! On parlera uniquement en français—oui, immersion totale! Il se peut que l'on se divise en petits groupes pour que tout le monde en profite au max. Chaque groupe aura son propre expert en français 🇫🇷🧐 bien sûr - pour nous remettre sur le bon chemin dès que l'on commence à galérer!😆 🎲 Jeux Pas de jeux énormes qui risquent de finir en catastrophe avec du café renversé, STP! On privilégie des jeux rapides, légers et amusants (en général, des jeux de cartes comme UNO ou Exploding Kittens 💥🐱). J’apporterai quelques jeux moi-même, mais n'hésite surtout pas à amener tes propres favoris (versions françaises évidemment😎) ⏱ Horaires On commence à 15:00, et tu es libre de nous rejoindre à tout moment et de rester aussi longtemps que tu le souhaites. Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games! The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime! Join us for a Fun Friday event as we get together to see the long-awaited sequel to the 2006 original, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2! Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci all return for this follow-up that finds the former assistant is now a rival! Here are details, a trailer and our plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: The film follow’s Miranda Priestly's struggle against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amidst declining print media. The film is directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna (who wrote/directed the 2006 original). It stars returning cast members Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci along with newcomers Justin Theroux and Kenneth Branagh. **Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: Tristan Shae and friends return to entertain us and to warm the group up for our open mic session. February's Open Mic / Comedy Night was a smash hit and it's worth a second night. We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club. **On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\. **Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. It is directed by Steven Soderberg, stars Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel and has been earning rave reviews on the indie circuit. Option 2 is the latest action-thriller starring Bob Odenkirk, NORMAL! The film follows a temporary small-town sheriff who uncovers dark mysteries after a local bank robbery.
