Together at Zurich National Animal Rights Day 2026 đŸ
After a two-year pause, the National Animal Rights Day (NARD) (https://thenard.org/) is returning to ZĂŒrich!
The NARD is a global day of remembrance and solidarity: a moment for people in cities around the world to come together, pause, and collectively acknowledge and commemorate the immense scale of animal suffering that takes place, largely out of sight, in our everyday world.
It is also an affirmation that another way of living is possible.
For many of us, such gatherings serve as a reminder of why we care, and that there exists a community that stands for the same principles. Alongside commemoration, it also includes a celebration of the progress that is being made towards reducing animal suffering.
This is a **legally registered, peaceful demonstration** to stand up for animal rights. Itâs **not** a disruptive or confrontational protest. The atmosphere is calm, respectful, and welcoming to everyone.
đ„ ***Our Meetup Plan***
Going to an event like this on your own can feel intimidating and overwhelming đŹ. Itâs easy to feel unsure about where to stand, who to talk to, or whether youâll end up alone in the crowd.
Thatâs why weâre going together in a supportive, like-minded group of familiar faces to talk to, walk with, and share the energy of the day đŹđ±.
Let's meet directly at **ZĂŒghusplatz at 13.45.** The demonstration takes place 14.00-16.00. If there is enough interest after, we can also go for a drink or food together.
\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-
â***FAQ***
***Do I need to be vegan to join?***
No. If you care about animals and believe they deserve compassion and protection, youâre welcome. Even if you're just curious, coming along can a novel chance to see what these kinds of demonstrations are really like, to hear what people around the world care about đ, and to reflect on where you stand.
***Is this one of those disruptive protests?***
No đ«. The march is fully legal and registered with the city.
***Iâm shy / quiet / not the activist type. Is this still for me?***
Yes. You donât need to be loud, extroverted, or used to activism to take part. Just being there is already a meaningful act of solidarity.
Note: I am not an official organiser of the demonstration, the original event posting can be found at

If you're curious, open, and feel some pull toward this kind of new experience, come along đ. It can be meaningful, eye-opening, and fun đŁđŹ.
Bring a friend, a family member, or just yourself.
We hope to see you there. đ

Uetliberg Design Networking Hike
**A creative walk & talk for designers and creatives**
Join us for a half-day walk and talk along the scenic Uetliberg ridge, designed to connect outside the usual networking format.
No presentations. No panels. Just great people, ideas, and a shared path.
We start at Triemli Station and hike up through the forest to Uto Staffel (about 1.5 hours), guided by [Mario Stipetic](https://www.linkedin.com/in/mariostipetic/). From there, we continue into a relaxed 1 to 1.5 hour ridge walk along the Planetenweg with views over ZĂŒrich, the lake, and the Alps.
Conversations unfold naturally along the way. We move in small groups, rotate, and share thoughts on current projects, creative challenges, and topics like AI in design, or whatever emerges in the moment.
We end at Gut MÀdikon Hofcafé, a hidden farm café, where we spend about one hour enjoying coffee, homemade cake, and relaxed conversation.
This is networking without the pressure. Just movement, fresh air, and meaningful exchange.
See you there! đ
**WhatsApp Group (Coordination)**
Weâll send the WhatsApp invite after you RSVP.
You can also join via Discord below.
ââ
**The Easy Route**
Prefer to skip the steep climb? Take the S10 train from ZĂŒrich HB to Uetliberg (about 20 minutes), then walk down to Uto Staffel and meet us there around 11:00 AM. Timing will be coordinated via the group on the day.
**Getting Back**
We walk back along the ridge to Uetliberg, either retracing the Planetenweg or taking the path near the Uetliberg tower. From there, walk down to Triemli station and catch the train home.
**Physical Fitness**
The initial climb takes about 1.5 hours and is steep, requiring a reasonable level of fitness. If you are unsure, take the easy route. The views are the same, and the Hofcafé cake tastes just as good.
**RSVP**
If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP so we can adjust the reservation at the Hofcafé.

### **What is an Outdoor Empowerment Group?**
Our Outdoor Movement & Community Empowerment Groups are simple, guided experiences designed to help people reconnect with nature, themselves, and others. We combine some form of movement (hike, walk, run, bike, yoga, workout) and meaningful conversation within a simple community circle to create a space where individuals can support each other while prioritizing mental and physical well-being.
Whether youâre seeking stress relief, personal growth, or community, our groups offer everyone a unique and welcoming environment.

### **Why Our Groups are Donation-Based**
Our Outdoor Movement Groups are made possible through a donation-based model. This approach allows us to keep our events accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, while also ensuring that we can continue expanding our reach. Itâs a great way to pay it forward and support the growth of this beautiful mission!
Every contribution helps us:
* **Cover Essential Costs** â Donations allow us to pay essential legal, marketing, insurance, and admin costs as well as nourish the important people who run the organization.
* **Grow Our Mission** â With your support, we can bring these healing experiences to thousands more people in the future and execute our long term plan to expand across the USA, affecting up to 500,000 people per year.
By choosing to contribute, youâre not just leading an eventâyouâre helping build a mental health movement that supports long-term well-being and connection for all during a severe mental health epidemic.
